The staff are all friendly and knowledgeable. Service is very good and not intrusive, but you will learn a thing about what you're experiencing. The pairings are eye opening. The cheese is exquisite. Although the cheese itself is on the expensive side, the flights are reasonable for what you get. The pours on the wine are fair and there is enough cheese to share. Dried fruit and corn are added as a pallet cleanser. Loved it! Everyone needs a cheese bar with drink pairings. The wine and beer menu as suggested pairings for cheese as well. They also have some interesting craft cocktails. Street parking can be an issue, so maybe prepare for a little walk during popular times.

The Luna and the shallot herb cheese were to die for! The Luna won 3rd place internationally in a cheese contest, and you'll see why when you taste it. So complex and nuanced, with little crunchy crystals of salty goodness from the year and a half it spends aging. We then went to the cafe part, which has a good number of tables, and ordered a couple cheese plates. Again, our girl delivered--she made our cheese plates so that the accompaniments were all different and so we could try as many crackers and side dishes as possible. So thoughtful! Yes, they have lion's mane, in all of its repugnant mushroom gloriousness. River Valley Ranch Mushroom Farm was started in 1976, by Bill Rose and his son, Eric. They continue to run the show today. The focus here at River Valley Ranch is on producing chemical-free mushrooms. They have multiple barns that serve as mushroom grow rooms, but they also produce a variety of other chemical-free vegetable crops. They sell their produce in their store and also local farmers markets. The store inside River Valley Ranch is like a dream come true for people who like to eat good, local food. You will find produce and goods that River Valley Ranch has grown and created on their farm, but also local Wisconsin products created elsewhere. Everything on the shelves feels like it was carefully considered before being placed there. There are also freshly baked loaves of bread baked in-house, wine and beer, Wisconsin cheese, many jars of pickled things, jellies and jams, and a kitchen where you can find meals and hot food. I loved my build your own turkey and Swiss with sprouts, lettuce, tomato's pickle, onion, mayo, mustard, and sub sauce on gluten free bread. The bar service was great too. Groceries are over priced. 15.00 for a half gallon of ice cream!…read more Tried the new roof top bar twice. The view is nice and there is plenty of seating with a small bar. First visit, the bar wasn't open. The lower bar bartender told us we could go up to the roof top but needed to bring our own dishes down. Second visit, large sign at entry said roof top bar was open. Several tables and all seats at the bar were full but no bartender on a very warm day. It rained earlier in the day so many of the tables and chairs were wet. We were able to go behind the bar to grab paper towels to clean off the seats. Again had to bring up drinks from the lower bar. Lower bar tender moves like a snail. After about an hour, a bartender shows up to the roof top and says she was watching the weather and decided to come to work. The lower bar is nice but why offer a roof top bar if you cannot service it. There were many customers that left frustrated at the lack of service. Hopefully management will get it together. This could be a great asset to our small town.
