I'll admit, after seeing some of the reviews on this place after our little "mini-moon" was booked, scared me just a bit. But after we arrived in our sweet little condo unit, Ocean Song 312, I didn't really understand how some could be so unhappy with this place. Yes, we had a small issue with booking (it showed we were booked an extra day, but wasn't the case) but other than that, I loved this property, and I guess it fully depends on what unit and building in which you are staying. Our unit was spacious, clean, had some necessities in the kitchen (glasses, plates, utensils, coffee cups, a tea pot, toaster oven, a few rolls of TP, paper towels) so it was really everything we needed for a extended weekend stay. (No oven thou.... lol ooops, we bought a frozen pizza to snack on, but cutting it into pieces and popping in the toaster oven worked just fine.) The TV in the living area was HUGE, which was so nice! We did end up bringing our Apple TV and router, since a few others mentioned the wifi and cable issues, and besides it lagging just a tad one night (I was thinking it was for the Game of Thrones season finale) everything worked great! If you can't live without a decent internet speed, even though we didn't try it without the boost, I'd go ahead and recommend bringing your own router as well.) We had a nice little balcony with an ocean view, perfect for watching the sunrise with a cup of coffee, or checking out the stars with a nice cold beer. The bathroom had a nice stand up shower, and jacuzzi tub. There were also a few toiletries, towels, and a blow dryer. This is definitely a family friendly place, as we were located next to the pool area, and you could see/hear kids screaming with excitement and delight throughout the day. Even so, we still managed to have a very secluded and private area to retreat to, and it didn't bother us in the least. So families or couples vacationing, I'd totally recommend this spot. We had direct beach access (and after seeing all the cars parked on the main road, thank goodness) so that was killer. And, alcoholic beverages were allowed on the beach and at the pool area, (and of course we brought our own) but that was really nice not trying to hide it, and having a relaxing time. Another thing I LOVED about Beachside Colony: They have are involved in a neuter/spay release program, so there are several sweet little kitties on the property. There is a sign posted up about them, and they came to greet us at the balcony every morning! It made the comfortable stay even more comfortable for me, as of course, I missed my little furbabies while we were away.... I would recommend, if you are staying more than an extended weekend, to hit up a grocery store BEFORE you get to Tybee. There is one small grocery here, and while it's not bad, it's very small and packed, so stock up before you get there. Beach snacks, maybe some extra TP, and definitely bring your own beach towels... or even a few. They do have a washer/dryer in the unit if you need to re-use over the course of your stay. So maybe the furnishings were a "tad" out of date, it was still very beach, and I would not hesitate to stay here again. read more

CAUTION! THIS ORGANIZATION IS A SCAM ARTIST! I would like to share our experience with you, with the stern warning that if you book here, BUYER BEWARE. We booked with Beachside Colony in August of 2019 for a Dance Nationals competition in June of 2020. When Covid swept the country and began cancelling everything, we too had to cancel our booking. We were assured we would be getting our rather hefty deposit back. Month goes by, nothing. Two, nothing. Third month we get a super sad story that their "merchant processor" has the funds, and they can't get the refund back, that it is on us to contact our credit card company and dispute. More time goes by, and after multiple contacts, they produce a PHONY document saying they already refunded the money, and it was my BANK's Fault. Seriously? So here I sit, SEVEN MONTHS LATER, and still out my deposit. I advise you, urge you, BEG YOU, that if you are going to visit this area, use ANYBODY besides these shady CROOKS. If I could give negative stars I would! read more

While the condo we stayed in was great, I couldn't get past how awful the trash situation was. No matter where where we sat by the pool, we would get swarmed by flies. Come to find out it's because they keep the dumpsters right by the pools, which help spawn *thousands* of flies (no exaggeration). I would highly advise the staff at this facility to reconsider how they handle garbage, especially since we booked this condo based on the poolside amenities. The condo we stayed in was very nice and spacious. You can expect a clean place to stay with lovely views and a short walk to the beach. Just don't expect to enjoy the pools without a severe fly problem. read more

Okay so far so good! We are without kids on a 4 day GETAWAY! Lastnight we stayed at HOMEWOOD SUITES which was Nicee! We decided to switch to this beachfront to chill in Tybee island... Just checked in a few hours ago but I gotta say right now....(Im trying to find out how we are gonna tell grandma that WE ARE NEVER COMING BACK! ! (yeah I wish) :)....This is a very nice place to layback and chill with your S/O...especially without the kiddo's! We walked to shops,lunch,dinner while dessert waited bk at the room. The new management staff and association are working hard to make this place Tybee Island's number one spot to stay on the island. As the buildings get fixed after the devastating hurricanes, each condo is brand new. New furnishings and fixtures inside make the rentals comfortable and clean. The property has great access to the beach, access to 3 pools, and a restaurant called the Dock which is a lot of fun to grab a drink or food. If you are staying at a condo managed by the Beachside Colony group, then you can expect a professional and responsive outfit who cares that you enjoy your stay when on property. read more

We've stayed here for a few years now. It's always been fine, but this year was much different. Before we got there, all three pools were closed due to covid, which we understand totally, but we should have been told about this ahead of time. To their credit, they were apologetic and admitted they should have let us know, and gave us a small discount. But the low rating comes because we felt unsafe. We were harassed by someone that called himself the property manager. We used an extra parking space since they were operating at 20% capacity. We know this was 'against the rules' but we thought it wouldn't be a problem since it was empty and it would only be for an hour in the evening. This man shows up, blocks us in, refused to let us move, hits our car with his fists while yelling, and then calls the police (who rolls his eyes and promptly leaves). I called the number we had for the office worker and she was apologetic, which is why I'm giving them two stars instead of one. Unfortunately, we didn't feel safe due to the violent manner of this employee, so we won't be back. Oh, and be careful in the parking garage getting in and out of your car. There was a low corner and I hit it in my temple, giving myself a concussion. read more

We stayed in unit 527... It was okay. The kitchen didn't have much of anything in it, not even a bowl to put fruit in or a cookie sheet (oh, but there were 6 colanders) The dishes we pulled out if the cupboards were still dirty, we ended up just going and buying some paper plates and plastic cups and silverware. It rained a good bit while we were here. Which was fine, except that you couldn't actually use the wifi to watch a movie on netflixs or anything is was so laggy. Now, the view was lovely, the furniture inside was also very nice, it was really convenient to everywhere we wanted to go. Would I rent this unit again? No. Would I come back to Beachside? We stayed in Unit 443 in 2020. We enjoyed our stay so much that we reserved the same unit for 2021. When we arrived we couldn't get the sliding glass door to the balcony open - it was stuck. Also the ice maker in the refrigerator was broken. I went down to the office to tell them about the problems we were having and she said she'd let their maintenance guy know, but he wouldn't be there until Monday. They knew about the ice maker and said they had a part ordered. I let them know that if I had known that this unit had problems with it, that I would have stayed somewhere else. Eventually we got tired of not being able to enjoy the balcony and four of us worked together with lifting one end of the sliding door with a knife while the other 3 people lifted and pushed on the door. We slid it an inch at a time until one of us eventually got outside and was able to lift the door back on it's track. The door was working, but it still needed to be replaced. When the maintenance guy showed up on Monday he said he talked to the owner of the condo and they were going to replace the door, but they wouldn't be able to do it until the slow season. Beachside offered me a 10% discount for the problems we had and said they would mail me a check with a refund, but it's been 2 weeks and still no check. We thought if they could get the door and icemaker fixed that we would stay in the unit again in 2022, but when I went to reserve the unit, the price had almost doubled to over $6000 for the week. We did find another 3 bedroom unit on the 2nd floor that's independently owned and not managed by Beachside Colony that we are renting next year for about the same price we paid this year. This place is a great location, we enjoyed the pools and views from our condo and that a restaurant called 'The Deck' was next to the pool and was very convenient if you wanted something to eat or drink while at the pool. read more

Was not impressed. 121 unit was dirty. We found dried on food on most of the dishes. Blood on a wall. Chairs in living room area were dirty and torn. Air vents had filth all over them. Dust was every where. For 1785.00 dollars I expected a little better.. a note left said not to turn air down below 70. We were given the $100.00 house cleaning fee back. The rest were excuses of how the owner of the units sons girlfriend was in charge of the deep cleaning. Apparently she didn't get that memo. Will not stay here again. Do not recommend it to anyone. In March we booked a room and here it is 4 days before check-in and they tell us they are overbooked!!! this is HIGHLY unprofessional and NOT how you handle business this places needs NEW management !! We (four adults) recently rented Vue 236 condo at Beachside Colony for a week. It was supposed to be a 2 bedroom but the second bedroom had NO closet! It was so small that the dresser drawers could not be used because the bed was in the way and was not big enough for two adults. The floors were filthy. When water was spilled in the master bedroom the paper towel was BLACK. Bugs and big roaches were seen daily. The kitchen was tiny. No place for food storage other than the frig. One of the fringe drawers was broken and could not be used. There was seating for 3 adults at best in the living area. All three elevators were broken for over 24 hrs. One was broken the entire week. The door lock did not work and had to be replaced. Meanwhile we could not leave the unit. We will never rent at Beachside again. read more

We have stayed here before, renting through a private owner on VRBO. It was several years ago & we had a wonderful time. This time we rented directly through the resort. Our condo was ok- we were in #225 Vue. It needs new appliances. Period. The dishwasher didn't work at all and the fridge & stove were very old & outdated. Washer & dryer were old & junky too. They also need to add a couple more pots & pans/skillets. We didn't cook at all but there's no way we could have without purchasing a new skillet. When we arrived at our room, after 4 pm, it was still "in process" of being cleaned, which was annoying. But it was pretty clean once she finished, so I'll chalk that up to it being very busy and them being short staffed. The beds were comfortable. The unit needs to have more places to hang wet things-- you are at the beach! The pool area is closing every 2 hours for 30 minutes for "cleaning" right now due to COVID. This is a bit over overkill and could for sure be knocked down to a couple times a day. Our last day there both pools were closed which was REALLY really irritating. This place is very expensive and that's unacceptable. The restaurant was also randomly closed yesterday for lunch which was irritating. Onto the bar/restaurant. Their food was actually some of the best I had on the island, which is crazy. Hats off to the chefs because we really really enjoyed it. Calamari was amazing. Fish tacos were spot on. Wings were very good. It was so nice to be able to grab food right there while enjoying the pool. Drinks were fantastic as well. I recommend the grapefruit mule. Overall it was a good stay with some really unfortunate things that Happened-- some explained by COVID and some just a coincidence. The location is worth staying there, as it's right on the beach with a pretty nice pool area. I don't think there's anything else like that in Tybee. But it's kinda expensive for what you get. Cheaper to book privately. And if you're headed to Tybee right now, be prepared to struggle to find food. Restaurants are either closed, takeout only, or very busy. Plan ahead! read more

We went down for a long weekend over Labor Day. When we arrived, we thought the condo we stayed in, Beach Club #137, looked great until we started walking around a little bit. The floor was sandy and dirty, leaving our feet black. We had to wear socks and shoes all weekend due to the floor, and it was like this in every room. We realized we did not have enough towels, and the confirmation email says (word for word), " As you are staying in a privately owned vacation property please be aware that we do not provide towels for the pools or beach. We also do not replenish towels daily as there is a washer/dryer in every unit." This is understandable we did not mind washing the towels as we were prepared to do so, the next line.... " If you need extras please inquire at the front desk." We needed extras because they did not provide enough in our unit... We inquired... We did not get any extras after out inquiry... They said 8 were provided, when in reality only 6 were provided. The washer and dryer fit maybe two towels and some wash cloths (if we were lucky) and it took multiple cycles in the dryer to get them dried. We had to buy extras ourselves.. The women working the front desk were rude and not pleasant at all. When we would ask a question, they talked down to us as if we were children and as if we should have already known the answer to our own question. They were clearly not happy to be working there, which is not an impression a receptionist should have.. One of the shower heads in the master shower were broken. Yes, there were two shower heads.. One was pointing to the front of the shower making it nearly impossible to even take a shower. The door frames in the bathrooms were molded. The conjoined bathroom door frame was worse than the others. The sheets were dirty, sandy, stained and had hair dark black hairs on them, as did the towels. The furniture inside was stained and the table and chairs were broken so no one could sit in them.. The refrigerator door shelves were broken and would fall every time we tried to put something in them, we finally gave up and did not put anything in there. We got there at about midnight and they left our keys with some parking directions.. The parking directions led us to a lot that was blocked off and we had no clue where we could and could not park. Luckily we did not get towed or get a boot on our car.. The day we left, they charged my card an additional $50. When I called to inquire about this, the lady could not tell me why I was charged because it was not documented.. My motto is, if its not documented, it didn't happen. She told me to call the GM and referred to them as a "her" and said her name was Danielle. When I called the next day the GM was not available and the woman I talked to said "he was not available." I asked if it was a male or female because the lady in the previous day said their name was Danielle. I spoke with Blanch who was complete rude over the phone and said that the GM was not a female. We went to the restaurant at the resort for lunch one day. We had to wait forever for our food, and when it came out, it was not prepared correctly.. We spent most of our time waiting on our food. The food was not worth the wait. The waiter was nice, unfortunately I cannot remember his name. Would I recommend this resort? If you like dirty condos and rude staff members, sure. But if you don't, I would not recommend it to anyone. I expected more out of it.. read more

This place not only has hotel rooms, but it rents out little condos, too. At first I thought our little place was cute...it had a sofa, tv, nice kitchen, kitchen table + chairs, then a long hallway to the bedroom/bath. The furniture was SO BIG and HEAVY and isn't beachy at all (Spanish, kinda?). All was well and we had just unpacked, when my husband noticed our bed was soaked from the air conditioner right above it. We called the front desk and they sent a maintenance man over. He said that he was surprised that they were still renting this place out (!) and offered to move us next door. Which was fine, but DANG, I had just unpacked for 4 people! So we schlepped all our stuff over one condo. It was a little nicer, actually, and a little bigger. The place is quiet, and very close to the beach, so that's good. It is rough around the edges, though. The hairdryer in the bathroom was missing, carpet was coming up in spots, dings in the wall. Definitely not worth the money we paid, in my opinion. There are two small pools and a baby pool. The tiles in the pools were really dirty. Great location, though. read more

We stayed here for three nights..the staff was wonderful. Our condo was very nice. We had no complaint other than one thing. The onsite restaurant/bar was closed on Tuesday. There was no sign on the door of hours or closures. I had to go ask the office when it was opening and was informed that it's closed Tuesdays. We were very disappointed as were a lot of other guests. The garage is full of head splitting obstacles for anyone over 6' and won't fit the larger SUVs and pickups. The AC is under powered. I have been a realtor for over 25 years. My husband and I own investment property ourselves and we have traveled extensively, so we are certainly familiar with the absolute minimum standard with which a rental property should comply. That being said, this is the worst DUMP I have ever had the misfortune to stay in. The photos on-line looked fine and it seemed to have everything we wanted - Oceanfront with direct access to the beach, 3BR's & 3 B's and, most importantly, an elevator because the townhouse we rented (unit #11) was on three levels and my husband has a bad knee so doing stairs is difficult. When I called to make the booking I was assured the unit had everything I wanted. Well, it might have if things actually worked. We arrived Saturday 9/12 and immediately got into the elevator to take our luggage upstairs. For openers, there was no light in the elevator; when we closed the door we were in pitch blackness. There was no way to see the control panel; we had to grope around in the dark and hope we pushed the right button. It was also extremely claustrophobic. In any event we did manage to get our luggage upstairs and assumed we would be able to get the management office to fix the light in the morning. We went out to dinner and when we got back the elevator was no longer working at all. My husband and I got locked in and were stuck in that pitch black elevator with an emergency phone that didn't work. Fortunately, after about 15 minutes I found a release button on the door and we got out. It took the management company the entire week to get it fixed and there was still no light or working emergency phone. My husband & I stood in the office and listened while the repairman told the property manager that he could not fix the light because the elevator was very old and required a special light bulb which his company did not have. He then added that, though he could not check it out completely, he had a feeling that the problem was more than just a light bulb; his suspicion was that the entire electrical system that controlled the light was fried. That light had not been working for a long time and evidently neither the owner nor the management company saw fit to do anything about it. So much for not walking stairs! On to the next LITTLE problem. The toilet in the master bedroom was not properly bolted to the floor. When you sat down the entire toilet tipped over and you wound up on the floor. My husband banged up his bad knee and then had to walk down a full flight of stairs whenever he needed a bathroom. It only took the management company 3 days to get it fixed properly!! Next, (I only wish I could post my photos) the kitchen cabinets are made of plywood and covered in some kind of plastic vinyl. The vinyl is torn and peeling off, and every time you open a cabinet door it pulls up a little bit more. There was also supposed to be wi-fi in this townhouse. However, the modem was broken. Hence no wi-fi! The office told us Comcast would be there by Wednesday to replace it. We never saw them! Another thing, which to us was very important, I mentioned earlier that we specifically wanted to have ocean views. Well, we did; the only problem was that all the chairs on the balcony had torn and sagging seats so that when you sat down there was nothing under you but a hard metal bar. Ergo, we could not sit on the balcony to enjoy our views. Again the management office showed their usual ineptitude and lack of concern. We were told on Monday that the owner had ordered new chairs and that they would be delivered the next day. They never arrived! I could go on and on but I'm sure by now you get the idea. So back to the original question; how many stars would I give this place - minus 100!! read more
