This is first class course with an unbelievable scenic view of this part of the island. We arrived early and was greeted by a member of the staff and driven to the club house while we checked in for the round we enjoyed a Bloody Mary why not it was after 7:00 AM and seemed fitting. This was a great way to start we chose the Grey Goose even though it was $17 a shot after checking in at the Pro Shop we were amazed we were the only two on the course the next tee time was more than an hour behind us what more could you ask for. There is nothing better than playing golf along side the ocean on a isolated island course a little after sunrise sipping on a well prepared Bloody Mary. The course was in excellent shape and with no pace to keep up with we could not only enjoy the round but all the wildlife and the salty air. It was almost to perfect. We did learn quick not to under estimate the course it can be very challenging with the ocean breeze definitely a factor to contend with. The greens are a little deceiving but are well maintained and true. The ocean spray keeps a few of these greens moist I can't believe the salt doesn't affect the greens they were perfect I'm guessing they use some type of hybrid grass. They held really well and were a little slower than I would of liked but after a few holes we got the feel of them and it was fine. The entire experience was amazing the staff was great and the day was filled with memories. I would highly recommend spending some time here we would definitely come back and take advantage of all the amenities the island offers.

They are more than adequately equipped with huge bathrooms and bedrooms and a nice balcony. There's a restaurant actually a couple of places to eat that are across the Laguna where you can walk to eat. This isn't a kid's only place either. Adults find it equally fun and enjoyable whether you'll be sitting in a hammock, swimming in the pool, doing a fitness walk around the property or watching the squirrels and birds. Kids enjoy it when Chip and Dale come around. There are numerous activities to keep the kids busy. This is not a character centric resort but more on the relaxing side. Every person who works here is friendly and polite, and willing to help with anything you need. You truly feel like you are valued here. Outside of the resort, there is plenty of shopping up and down the main road. You won't be bored here at Disney, trust me.

Plus, the beach proximity of our rental was easy - less than a city block. The property easily housed my party of 7 as expected. There was ample hot water, the air conditioning worked well, the keyless entry operated as expected, the kitchen dishware and cookware were sufficient and most of the house was generally clean. A few things were merely irritating: - The sliding glass door that connects the master bedroom to the patio does not work. A physical effort and a noisy rocking motion will open it enough for a thin person to slide out sideways. Once I got this back closed we did not use it again; - The curtains on those sliding glass doors are very VERY sheer. Effectively they are see-through. Anything happening in that master bedroom is shared with any guests on the patio; - The black patio chairs are peeling some kind of substance -- possibly old paint. Whatever that stuff is, it's almost impossible to get it off your legs. One thing was grossly unacceptable: a non-working freezer. Imagine 7 days in the summer at an ~$8,000/week LUXURY rental with a non-working basic appliance! No advance warning. Infuriating is that fact that the owners KNEW this. I know that they knew because there is a small card on one of the kitchen walls, warning the renter that the freezer is slow to freeze after a new guest enters and that 24-48 hours ought to be given. Well, it did not freeze in the entire week. Spoiled food, zero ice, etc. An AI search suggested I ought to be due some compensation and per my description, suggested $150 to $400 per day depending on whether the owner provided an interim solution, such as a cooler with ice or a secondary freezer. After some email correspondence and conversations, the property manager (Demetrea Thomas) refunded $550. In total. She told me the owners had placed an auxiliary freezer in the kitchen (and apparently my party of SEVEN - none of us blind) all missed it for 7 days. When I disputed this absurd assertion, she promised to credit me more if she can verify that in fact there was no auxiliary freezer. I asked her for a photo of it. Dishonesty, rottenness and possibly criminal Well, Demetrea DID send me a photo. The photo showed a refrigerator/freezer combo standing right there in the dining room, beneath a light green wall tapestry. Thankfully, among the various pictures taken by my family was one showing that very wall with the green tapestry. It is quite apparent that there is no 5' tall stainless steel appliance standing there. I shared this with Demetrea on July 7. Not a peep from her and I presume I shall not. Not sure who is more rotten - the owners of 167 Mooring, the owners of Palmetto Dunes, or the property manager Demetrea Thomas.

Our first impression was rather unfortunate, as we expected "early check in" at 1pm. However, our cottage was not ready (reportedly due to a mechanical issue with the ceiling fan) until 3:30pm. The staff was exceptionally helpful - especially Deidre (concierge). Our river-view cottage was spectacular with a lovely fireplace and living room, screened-in porch, spacious bedroom with a very comfortable bed, spacious bathroom with a large shower, tub and double vanity; dressing room with closets, entry with wet bar and small refrigerator. A card with instructions on how to work the thermostat and the lights (master switch behind one of the bedposts) would have been helpful. We enjoyed a delicious 'welcome' snack and chocolates every night. The grounds are spectacular - and vast - with a very nice pool, docks, fire pits, golf course, excellent spa and many other amenities, restaurants, shops and activities. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our massages by Desiree - she was fabulous. The restaurants were all very good - "Fore and Aft" at the pool, Canoe Club (the most upscale); Buffalo's for excellent Italian food, and Octagon, located in the Inn, for very good breakfasts, lunch and dinner. I had probably the best pork chop and truffle fries I have ever had at Octagon. All restaurants are relatively casual, with Canoe Club the most "formal." We drove into the nearby town of Bluffton one day and visited the lovely shops and art galleries. Otherwise, there was enough to do on property to occupy our time. Just sitting on our porch, watching the lovely May River was wonderful - and we also thoroughly enjoyed walking the spacious grounds, "porching" (enjoying cool drinks and cookies on the Inn porch), a sunset cruise along the river (complete with dolphins swimming alongside, snacks, wine and a very nice crew - and there were just two of us!) There are "tram" golf carts traversing the many paths so if you need a ride you can just hop in - no charge. If we lived in the southeast, we would be regular visitors to this wonderful Inn, which is absolutely worth the price.

More than one pool, plenty of seating, easy access to the beach, a coffee shop for breakfast or snacks, a restaurant, and an outdoor bar. What a relaxing week! One thing I think is great about this hotel is they actually enforce the rules about leaving your pool chairs unattended. No more yahoos running down first thing in the morning, claiming seven chairs, and then disappearing until late afternoon. They will actually clear the chairs of people who do that. I love it! The workout room is great. They have a good amount of both nautilus and free weights, plus a pair of Peloton bikes. Ice cold, flavored water and its own restroom are also included in the workout area. The hotel is not cheap, but it is well worth it. Make plans in advance because they do fill up. The inside is spacious, clean, and bright and happy energy my father and I checked in on Wednesday of last week and stayed until Saturday right before Memorial Day. I wish we could've stayed longer because they had lots of happening around the pool for Memorial Day weekend. Troye, I remember checked us in he was very nice, and Ito from the splash pool bar was also very kind. I asked him if his piña colada mix had dairy and he said they only use a coconut based piña colada mix and I was very excited because then I could order a piña colada!! not many Marriott hotels have a coconut based mix. The pools on this property are very nice. They have one that is "" heated under an awning; but that one was indeed very chilly, which honestly was fine because it was very hot out. I believe this resort is dog friendly however you're not allowed to have any dogs on the deck because the deck gets really hot and it burns their little paw pads. Service dogs are allowed however they have to be in a vest. Unfortunately, I was unable to eat here; my dad and I were so busy we didn't get a chance. This hotel literally is right on the beach; I do not know if most of the rooms are point only room rooms and then some rooms are a hotel room rooms- but whenever I want to book this property, every single room is full. This hotel is directly on the beach. It only takes maybe 5 to 10 minutes from walking into the hotel through the mangroves to the actual beach. Definitely worth staying here. 10/10

Hi Everyone, What is…read moreit that makes for a unique 80th Birthday celebration? A diner, on the water, at River House Restaurant at Palmetto Bluff. And yes, we know someone who has arrived at the eighth decade of their life. Hope for us all, depending upon your point of view. But I digress. It was well worth the trip, and the price to dine upon this exquisitely prepared fare. You see, the River House Restaurant in Palmetto Bluff is located off the beaten track, with a small, quaint, home town feel and their pricing is indicative of the overall excellent quality of your event dining experience. Which means, to dine there. The ambience is pristine, in an architectural design wonder. Everywhere you peer, your eyes are delighted with intricate, finely orchestrated, and soothing display of eclectic taste. We started with their Amuse-bouche which is a French term that means "mouth amuser". Yea, I had to look it up too, lol. It was the chef's creation of creamy goat cheese and fig in a small pastry crust which was taste provoking, aesthetic pleasing, and would pair well with a Prosecco, or a Non-sweet Riesling wines. This unexpected, unique treat was provided to us on the house, which was a nice touch. Thank you Chef! Their service is excellent as nothing is ever overlooked. From refilling your chosen libation, to your meals arriving quickly and hot, to our Server's engaging personality. Our Birthday Gal taught German for decades educating your children (i.e. figuratively), and they engaged in an interesting discussion of German and Ukrainian Family name derivations as if they were cousins which had a very warm Family like feel. The food is good to outstanding depending upon what you have chosen to experience. Example: The Duck appetiser is a perfect tastebud sensation that delighted me over, and over again. In our opinion, it should be added to their menu as an entree, so you can enjoy it twice! Yea, as in, don't miss it. The Halibut was a flakey with a divine sauce, the shrimp cocktail was very moist, and tender, the Lettuce Wedge Salad was terrific with its thick cut bacon, and taste centric dressing. Their chicken was chicken. Ah...hun, what? Nothing special, so now, you know. Their Filet Mignon had an exquisite savory flavor. Its presentation was a sight enthralling, desire enticing, temptation as we eat with our foods aroma, and our eyes, first. However, the portion was a little suspect. The Blueberry Regatta Cheese Cake and their Chocolate Mousse in a small donut ring shape were both tintilating tastebud sensations, and again the Chocolate Mousse for our Birthday celebrant was provided, on the house. Thank you Chef! This delightful, 180 degree water view area offers huge tree lined streets, is beautifully manicured, a small town anywhere feel with multiple restaurants in this one location. Which means, we will be back again to try some of the other River House Restaurant entree delights, and some of their competing restaurant offerings in this same location. We can recommend to you that you do likewise at River House Restaurant in Palmetto Bluff. Why? Because who doesn't need a great event dining experience that leaves you feeling satiated, satisfied, and imbued with the thrill of a great Birthday celebration enjoyed by all? Enjoy!
