After an hour one of the bikes completely died, the others still had an almost full charge. I road it back a few miles with no battery and let the person working the shop know. He said, sorry and checked the battery, verifying it was dead. He told us to come back for a store credit rental on another day. We are not from Morro Bay, just visiting for the day while camping in Avila. It would have been nice if he only charged for an hour on that one bike, since he checked the battery and verified it was dead. Instead, I paid a significant amount for the hourly rate for a heavy bike that had no charge.

We were just thinking what to do, when a family on a surrey passed us up and the boy said, "I want to do that!" And away we went. Lady working the front (owner?) couldn't have been more friendly and the price was really reasonably ($20-30/hr depending on the bike). After signing away my first born and shelling out $20 we were on our way. The two-seater was a bit snug but the three of us--despite my prodigious girth--managed to fit on it. We made it to Morro Rock and turned around and were back in a little under 45min. Trust me that's more than enough time when you're doing most of the pedaling because the boy thinks he's named after Lance Armstrong. Return was quick and easy, and we were on our way to a well-deserved lunch. Highly recommended. Would def do this again.

He rented us some electric cruisers and they were extremely intuitive and user friendly. Then the trail was about a 3 minute ride from the shop. It was extraordinary. However, from the very beginning, the owner was incredibly helpful, patient, and thorough in explaining how to operate the bikes and helping us choose the best setup for our family with two young girls. We took the Bob Jones Bike Trail, just as the owner recommended, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip! The bikes were extremely easy to operate, and by the end of our ride, we were reaching speeds of around 15 mph--which was definitely more than the 5 mph I initially expected! I came in because of a noise my bike was making, they told me they couldn't reproduce it but the next shop I went to did it easily. I have a friend who stopped by here with a flat tire on her way to school and they told her they didn't have a pump to help her. At a bike shop... come on. I am used to these types of stores having very friendly and helpful employees. Not impressed by this one, won't be going back.
