Just an update: we were here just about one year ago and I was sorely disappointed. I truly couldn't think of one good thing to say. Tonight was a totally different story. First and foremost, the service was stellar! We were immediately welcomed and seated when we walked in. Our server was attentive, quick, friendly and helpful. The atmosphere inside is very nice. From going to an open air deck to a fully enclosed restaurant has made a world of difference. Our view was stellar, but didn't feel like we were blowing away on the beach. There was live music tonight which was an added special touch. Mr. Petty was making the rounds greeting all and making sure everything was going well. Most importantly, our food was awesome! Half dozen fresh oysters with great taste and very nice plate appeal. Hubby had the spicy burger, i had the blue cheese burger. The accompanying onion rings were fantastic! Our burgers were juicy, well presented and perfectly grilled. I think you need to give this place a try. Not sure if we just hit a good day or there was a total turn around. Food isn't good and it's very expensive. We had kids nuggets, two fish plates and bottled water $89 not worth the money. If the food was served cold. The deck is cool and view of the beach is fabulous. read more

Food is bland. Drinks aren't worth the money. We were charged $2 for a bottle of Sam's Club water. Restrooms had no running water in sinks to wash hands with. Definitely a Hooter's atmosphere given that the women wear very little clothing. Not a place to take your wife on a date. read more

First time trying this place. Very chill atmosphere. They had music playing and had sand volleyball downstairs and swings. We were seated upstairs on the patio where we could see the beach. I ordered the shrimp poboy and it was delicious. Would definitely come back. read more

Terrible service!! me and my daughter went and she is allergic to preservatives on frozen fish and we expected there to not be frozen fish when we are eating on the beach. however the fish was frozen. the waiters were very rude and the food was not very good when we actually were able to get it. j would not recommend to anyone with a child. read more

I took my family here on Saturday 10/3. I was excited to try it out it because of the view. Well the view is the only good thing about this place. The service is well below par, the wait staff is slow and unmotivated. The food was a bit lackluster, the cheese tasted like jar cheese dip. I will say the cheese-steak sandwich was not half bad. The biggest downside for me while trying to eat on the deck smelling a clear scent of marijuana from down below. Lastly to make sure I never return they were very snotty when our card "declined" when to find out it was their server issue the entire time. If you want a great view of the gulf, go grab a drink, enjoy the view and then leave. read more

We just placed an order form the beach and they delivered it via golf cart. 5 menu items and everything came perfectly! This was awesome and helped us to continue social distancing. Ok food, drinks taste watered down, not really worth the money. The server we had was great, friendly, and accommodating. The ambiance is awesome, it's on the beach so that's expected. First off the service was slow, unorganized, and lazy. The waiter passed me twice. Once while taking drink orders and a second time while we were ordering food. I had to personally go and find the waiter to get my food and drink order put in. The burgers were bland, over cooked, and way overpriced for the quality of the food. And don't even get me started on how much the water was 3 dollars for water?!?! I get that the tap water quality is poor but seriously? I would rather drink a cup of Galveston sea water because at least that's free. I now understand why they sell CBD products inside the restaurant, I would need to be high out of my mind in order to even consider tipping. This was about a 40 minute drive from the beach house we were staying at, but we didn't regret making the trip. I had a strawberry mule and hubby had a coconut mojito. Both were handcrafted and really good. Not overly sweet, which is perfect for us. Also had a whiskey soda and it was just right. Also enjoyed the surf side oysters and stuffed jalapeños. We went on a weekday at lunch time, there was no wait, got us right to a table on the patio with our pups and view of the ocean. Service is slow, as expected since it's island time. Server was kind and did a good job. Enjoyed being able to bring our dogs to the patio. I had a fish po boy sandwich which was better than the day before's fish po boy. Husband enjoyed his blackened fish and kids enjoyed the loaded fries, got Philly cheesesteak, which includes the meat, peppers, cheese and nacho cheese on top of waffle fries. Views are fun and we really enjoyed the swings downstairs. Not a full 5 stars since food wasn't top notch, no ramp to get our dogs stroller up, had to carry the stroller up lots of stairs to get to patio, and lastly their ice tastes horrible... ugh, assuming the city water is the issue here and not their fault, however if your ice tastes that bad and waters down any drink with ice in it changing the flavor to instant yuck, order in delivered ice that tastes way better. read more

I'm not going back to this place. The waitor did not tell me the water cost $1. And I was told it was fine to replace tilapia with sapper but waitor didn't tell me that replacement costs extra $6. The menu said my dish would come with two sides. The waitor told me that's a mistake and any sides would cost extra with the dish I ordered so I only ordered one side. The buzzard thing was that they didn't charge extra for the one side I ordered eventually. All information we received from this restrant was confusing. Great service. Amazing food. I had the blackened flounder with rice pilaf and sautéed veggies. My wife had the 8oz sirloin with mashed potatoes and sautéed veggies. All of it was cooked to perfection and very flavorful. To top it all off, we ordered the creme brûlée. It was also great. It's a little pricy (flounder was 19) but was worth it. One waiter cutting limes and lemons at the bar with no gloves on, no mask on right beside a customer that had no mask. Ordered the appetizer platter, fish nachos that had 6 baby shrimp and maybe a tablespoon of crab in them (+$14) and a dozen oysters that were not chilled and were dark gray in color. This is the first restaurant I have been to since Feb 2020. Have been taking precautions because of Covid. I'm just glad I brought bleach wipes in with me so I could wipe off the rim of my glass. We visited the location twice on a recent vacation, bringing our female dog on both occasions. On the first day, there were other dogs at the restaurant, and all owners controlled their dogs as expected. Our dog interacted with other dogs on that evening without barking or anxiety. To celebrate our final evening in Surfside, we visited again. On this night, however, we experienced a very upsetting encounter with the self-proclaimed business owner, Mr. Bob Petty. While Mr. Petty chatted with another table, he allowed his Cane Corso to bark unchecked at our female for nearly five minutes. Mr. Petty then moved rapidly toward our table with his dog. He ignored our pleas to remain at a respectful distance. Instead, Mr. Petty brought the Cane Corso within a yard of our now unsettled dog, spoke loudly over us, and announced himself as the owner. Mr Petty then proceeded to make disparaging remarks about our dog's anxiety barking, unfairly characterizing her fear as misbehavior. This highly stressful encounter tainted the remainder of our evening. It is unfortunate to see a retaliatory, rather than conciliatory, owner's response. Nevertheless, his defensive reply to this review aligns closely with Mr. Petty's belligerent demeanor on the evening of our encounter. read more

I didn't eat here because both times I went in the only person who worked there wearing a mask was the hostess. Bartenders and wait staff weren't even trying to wear masks. To me that's just disrespectful when someone is serving food and drinks right now. I want to support small businesses but that was disappointing. Location and atmosphere are great. read more
