Also it is a few steps away from awesome Gaby's restaurant (here: https://www.yelp.ca/biz/gabys-seaside-restaurant-victoria) I never stayed in the RV park but I know the area fairly well, the infrastructure appear really good and the view is really hard to beat.

He showed us the bathroom, shower and laundry facilities, then walked us over to the available campsites. The tent sites were quiet, reasonably private, and had all that we needed, including picnic tables. It's a family-friendly campground, with a store, a small pool, and even a small car-pulled train/wagon for kids. We appreciated the clean bathrooms and warm hospitality.

It was also nice to talk to the people who walk their dogs down the trail. If you actually follow that trail over the bridge there is a "workout" area and some more beach front spots to relax at. Compared to other campgrounds we went to this one was very much appreciated. It was quiet, well priced, and beautiful. Be sure to bring everything that you need with you, as the nearest town is Duncan which is about a 18 minute drive. There are some areas nearby to pick up supplies but overall it's pretty hit or miss if you're shopping down the road. (We were alright with that though.)

This is a beautiful quaint little family run oasis on Mitchell Bay. There are hotel style rooms, and private cabins. We stayed in a private cabin on the waterfront for our anniversary this year. The cabins are stunning. Everything was super clean. You have a full kitchen and appliances should you want to cook, even equipped with a BBQ outside! There's a small living space, and the bathroom felt like a luxury spa! The shower had pebbled floorings which were so nice. The bedroom was cozy and comfortable and not to mention pitch black which was amazing for sleep! We slept with all windows open at night and slept great with the cool air and again I can't stress enough how quiet the property is. My favorite part is the windows at the front looking at the water and the little sitting nook by the kitchen. I sat there or in the chairs out front for most of our trip just admiring the water and stillness. So pretty! There's a little greenery area for sitting, play lawn games, or fire pits for smores. They also have kayaks and paddle boards for use during the day which was a nice amenity. They also have a general store and coffee shop on property with everything you might need. My favorite part is their water system that's fully treated and maintained by them. Because of it the shower water is so soft and serene, and the drinking water is amazing straight from the tap! This was a 10/10 stay from top to bottom, and we already can't wait to come back!

My wife and I stayed 2 nights at Snug Harbor Resort while visiting Friday Harbor…read more We reserved a one-bedroom waterfront cabin seamlessly online. Our total cost was $607.19. Check-in was done at the lobby. At the lobby one will also find a store and a coffee shop. Complimentary movies and games can also be checked out at the lobby to enjoy back at your lodging. The store offers a little bit of everything, from clothing to snacks. Complimentary ice machines are available. Bagged ice can be purchased though. Lower-level parking is limited and was completely full in the evenings. We were lucky enough to get a parking spot every time we returned from playing. Wheel barrel type carts located at the gate make transporting luggage effortless to rooms. Adirondack chairs are scattered about the edge of the property to enjoy sipping a beverage, reading or admiring the view. A fire-pit, community BBQ, picnic area and kids play area help pass the time while on-site. The paly area is at the lobby end for those who do not wish to have quarters near noise. The cabin we were given was number 10, a handicap unit. The very first cabin upon entrance and the furthest from the lobby and play area. Our cabin was clean and well equipped. Snug Harbor provided us the peace that we were seeking at the time. My one suggestion would be to offer fresh baked chocolate chip cookies in the lobby to establish a more personal touch.

The sign says that someone will come by & register you if you don't make a reservation online. Guy walked by, said morning, kept walking. Was that the guy I was supposed to pay? Did they jot down my plate number? Should I expect a bill in the mail when I get back to Iowa? At the end of the day, it was a beautiful area with no real amenities to speak of at very low prices. I'd probably seek something elsewhere next time, but it was a good first night in Canada.

We stayed at SookePoint Ocean Cottages for 4 nights. The ocean views are truly stunning - but…read morethat's where the positives end. Please don't be misled by the words "luxury" and "resort" in the property's name. It is neither luxurious nor resort like. CONSTRUCTION: The property currently feels like an active jobsite. I'm a construction project manager and spend my days on jobsites, so I'm not sensitive to construction - but this site is managed poorly for a hospitality environment. Guests walk and drive through dirt, dust, equipment, and partially fenced areas, and the "reception" is a small, dirty jobsite trailer. Noise wasn't a problem, but the overall environment was not guest ready. CHECK-IN: Check in is limited to a single one-hour window (4-5pm), which created a long line in a cramped trailer with no privacy. The staff member was kind, but the process was uncomfortable and inefficient. UNIT CONDITION (46A): As you read other reviews, please note that some units are new, and some are 10 - 12 years old. We were in an old "ocean view" unit, which was worn and overdue for a refresh: stained and worn carpet, damaged and stained furniture, loose trim, missing shower caulking, a soft shower pan, nonfunctional lamps, a fireplace missing its glass cover, and sliding doors that were broken or extremely difficult to operate. Windows also needed cleaning - and when you're there for the view but have to look through dirty glass, it defeats the purpose. PROVISIONS: Supplies were minimal. Only one dishwasher pod was provided for a four-night stay (even though we are required to run the dishwasher upon leaving), and towel quantities were extremely limited. For two people, we received: two bath towels, one hand towel, one washcloth, one kitchen towel, and one kitchen washrag. We had to wash towels mid stay. Additionally, guests are asked to take out their own trash, which is not typical of a property described as a "luxury resort." LOCATION: SookePoint Cottages are at least a 30-minute drive from Sooke along a narrow, winding road. This makes every outing time consuming. The location is inconvenient unless you plan to stay onsite most of the time. Once you leave for the day, you're unlikely to return for lunch or a break and then head out again. Sooke and the surrounding area are beautiful - do yourself a favor and stay in Sooke proper, not out in East Sooke. UNEXPECTED CHARGE: After checkout, I received a charge for a "steak knife," which we did not use or remove. I contacted the resort directly and was told that we had broken the knife. This was an unpleasant final impression.
