Located at the St Kilda Sea Baths, do not be fooled by the great location. This establishment should be avoided at all costs. Why you might ask? You would be better off emotionally and financially to head up to nearby Acland Street once your beach entourage in St Kilda is over. Forget about it and move on. The staff just aren't welcoming at all. They might be experienced hospitality professionals; it is too hard to tell; or they could be cheap labour; I honestly do not know. It is easy to get the vibe that your mere presence is an interruption and a disturbance in itself. The banana smoothie wasn't the best, and you end up waiting a heck of a long time for service. If you are in a hurry do not come to this establishment. In fact its beach come go, not beach come in. The waiters are depressed, they probably hate their jobs. Maybe, just maybe if the owner invested in some high class hospitality training for them that things might change for the better in tandem with a more care for the customer attitude. The view is a plus. Slow disgusting customer service and exorbitant prices = not impressed.

When I came here for brunch with my bookclub I wasn't aware that you were supposed to take photos of you food so that you could plaster it up on the internet, so unfortunately I don't have any photos of the meal that I had (not that I can actually remember what it was - it was something breakfasty). I'm not too keen on this place though because, well, there are much better places in St Kilda to have a meal, or even a quiet drink. However, it is quite large, though the last time I was here, which was on a summer afternoon, the outdoor areas were packed and the inside was empty. They also have an icecream parlour around the side, which is a little inconvenient because it is not exactly facing the beach. Also, they have waiter service here so there is no going up to the bar to order a beer.

Had the margarita for $22, would have been better to buy a $5 pizza from the coles and stick it in the oven. Pity the owners haven't taken onboard the years of customer feedback. Oh well, the view view is good.

Great location in St Kilda, the view is beautiful and the food was good. Nothing exceptional but nice. We had the 30$ special for lunch : chili mussels, lemon pepper calamari and a glass of wine. I was definitely not fan of the chips.

Beachcomber has been my first choice for a variety of occasions, christmas dinner and drinks with the girls, lunch date with my man and even a new years eve destination for a huge group of friends and family one year. Beachcomber is one of those traditional beachside restaurants specialising in contemporary Australian cuisine and of course seafood! I would highly recommend their antipasto platter; a selection of grilled vegetables, cold meats, creamy cheeses, marinated olives and artichokes and grissini sticks, great for sharing. I also love the lamb salad and the fisherman's basket perfect for tucking into on a hot day on the beach in Summer. The staff at Beachcomber are great they will help you organise any sort of function or event, weather it be a casual dinner date or new year extravaganza. Really what better way to bring in the new year than a seat on the beach watching the fireworks enjoying some wine?

I've been here a few times for a quick bite or a drink outside. It's a pretty solid 3 star place - great views onto the beach and ocean, decent seafood and the usual bar. It's just nothing exceptional - no wow factor in food or service. If your down this way and the other bars are packed, this one is usually a little quieter which is nice. You are also right near the car park which can be handy for keeping an eye on your car. If possible (and it's a nice day) sit outside on the ocean side. It's great people watching.

Situated on the Lower Esplanade is this beachside restaurant/bar/café. With inside and alfresco dining it is the hangout of choice for many people wanting to soak up the fun and atmosphere of St Kilda Beach. There's nothing I love better than to wile away the afternoon out on the undercover deck, getting happy from a few wines, being in a great place and in good company. It's a really chilled out atmosphere here, the wait staff are cool but really attentive without being annoying. The meals are really nice but expensive, however if you want to relax and dine by St Kilda Beach Beachcomber is the least expensive along Jacka Blvde. If you choose to eat I have to recommend the brushcetta duo and chilli mussels for a nibble or entrée. The seafood platter for two is just divine, fresh as it should being located on the beach and makes the perfect main. Great for parties, private functions and even weddings with some really good packages available. Check the Beachcomber website for details.

Big Brkfst with cappuccino and "synergie" fruit juice. Juice was OK, Cappuccino was simple. Sausage and hash brown weren't OK.

It worth it for the view. The big breakfast wasn't the best breakfast ever at all. The hash briwn and the sausage had not a good taste. The "synergie" fruit juice was the best part of the BF. Even the cappuccino hasn't nothing "special".

Went to Beachcomber for a quick stop off for a cocktail. We sat outside in the nice outdoor open area. Ordered a espresso martini & a pina colada. These were served in a reasonable time and the pina colada was served in a fresh coconut and was well presented, Espresso martini was also very nicely made. Food looked delicious so will be back again to order some of the menu.

Quite a swanky, upper class looking restaurant with a beautiful big fireplace as the centerpiece of…read morethe interior. I love the black, modern decor and sophisticated look so I decided to give them a go. They also have a diverse menu offering Mediterranean and International cuisine which added to the appeal. Unfortunately I just didn't feel very comfortable here, unwelcome almost. Granted I went in for lunch on a week day and it looked as though it was frequented by regular clientele, plus I have two young kids, but I did feel quite intimidated. Because of this I didn't bother looking through the menu too much, a quick glance and I saw a Carbonara so I ordered it for myself and a kids meal for my daughter. The meals were nice, served quickly and the decor is very elegant - I could imagine that fireplace would be perfect on a chilly evening. However the service was uninviting, dismissive and irked me to the point that I probably wouldn't go back, unless I was out voted by a group!!

I couldn't get the Paella as I was in town alone and it serves two. But the table next to me got it and it looked great. I got the fettuchini de mare and it was lite, fresh, and the pasta was cooked perfectly. Cocktails quite tasty if a bit weak. As for the grumpy goth waitress from the other reviews .... Common guys. She isn't goth. Actually she is pretty nice. You just need to engage her a bit if you want more than cold efficiency. All in all a good experience.

Walked down Clarendon St last night, looking for somewhere to indulge. We walked past a few…read morerestaurants and found it hard to make a decision. We walked passed Blue Room, and we were greeted by the waiter, who was super friendly and didn't pressure us and gave my group a rundown of the restaurant. Based on this, we decided to continue to eat here. We were seated in the front section of the restaurant, of which was on a beautiful night. The service continued to be amazing, and was just overwhelmed by the effort taken to ensure that we were comfortable and happy with our selections. The waiter was happy to help us out with suggestions and ensure that we ordered food that would satisfy us. My overall favorite of the night was the Prawn and Salmon Risotto. It was cook to perfection and the flavors just exploded in your mouth. This was also the tables favorite dish. We also had a pizza of "the Blue Room" their award winning pizza. This was delicious. Then we shared the claypot of the pork belly. Which was also nice. All this accompanied with a moijto made this experience all much more. We then "of course" had dessert. Yum Yum Yum, this was amazing, from the ricotta cheesecake, chocolate mud cake and well displayed affogato these where all a winner. This whole experience was beyond amazing and expectations. Service was really friendly and felt so welcomed here. Nice atmosphere, clean and well presented restaurant. I will definitely be returning here.

In fact, this place was nothing short of awesome, even though they were only doing takeaway at the time. Hot honey did not disappoint! Firstly we were greeted by surely the nicest waiter I have ever met, she asked us how I morning was then went on to tell us the specialties and all the while being bubbly and smiling. So refreshing. Firstly I got the iced coffee, and just as expected it was a delicious espresso with not too much milk all icy and delicious. Plus a little scoop of icecream on the top made it sweet and tasty! We were told the avocado smash and the corn bread were the best sellers. So we ordered them. They quickly arrived. The cornbread was thick and moist with a beautiful avocado and tomato salsa with a little coriander (YUM!) the bacon was generous and well cooked. The smashed avocado was served on crusty bread with just enough mint to make it tangy not too tart. We added bacon and again it was a generous portion and well cooked. There is seriously no feedback I could give Hot Honey, other than to keep doing exactly what they are doing. Lovely staff, great organic food, good value and great location! I will certainly be a returning customer and if you're looking for a yummy breakfast then you better get down to Hot Honey :)
