Attended my cousin's wedding here and everything about this place was incredible. They had an oyster and shrimp bar, serving a wonderful selection of fresh oysters from all over the country. The bar service was some of the best I've experienced. The ladies serving were so personable and excellent at problem-solving, and going the extra mile for service. The venue had room for a live band, and they cleared the dinner tables efficiently to make way for a comfortable dance floor. Their salad was a departure from the usual Caesar or spring salad. It had chick peas and flavour. Excellent taste! I had the prime rib, and it was perfectly done and the sides were also very tasty. The location is so picturesque. It's right across the street from the lake front, so you can go and catch the sunset while you wait for dessert Overall, if I were in Goderich again, I would definitely come back to try their regular menu.

We were in Goderich for the day and on route to the beach when we spotted Beach Street. The patio has a gorgeous view of the blue water. There aren't too many options on the lunch menu, but I ordered the soup of the day (tomato) with crab cakes. I loved the presentation of each dish, and they tasted great. Not sure what other dining locations there are in the area, but this is a great choice close to the water.

Beautiful Location on the beach in Goderich! The historic Station has been transformed into a classy restaurant. Had lunch there on the patio, phenomenal view! The service was fast and friendly. The severs wear uniforms which compliment the settings. Choice of meals was good and the special, an open face roast beef sandwich for $13. was excellent! They split the meal for us, without having to ask. This restaurant is in the perfect location and it great addition to Goderich!

I didn't find its Yelp page at the time, but it was good enough that I wrote about it on my Strava entry for the day, so I'll quote a section of that here: -- I circled back to the harbor, where there was a fish-and-ships shop with seven Canadian flags (and one Ukrainian), which I took as a sure sign that it must be good, especially since it had obviously been there a while, was out of the way, and had a decent amount of customers at 3 PM. Indeed, it was worth it. Haddock fried after you order it, with a choice of scores of seasonings and sauces to add to it, served takeaway style with greaseproof paper. I went with Worcestershire and lemon pepper, and it may have been the best fish and chips I've had. -- So, yup, if I was reminded of it randomly nearly six months later and wrote about it on Strava, it's pretty good. Check it out if you're in the area!

I was craving a schnitzel and they delivered. Friendly service from the staff there as they were just opening at noon that Friday and we were asked kindly to wait a bit before they opened. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal while seated at the corner table with windows looking out two different directions over the golf course. That itself, was a fantastic feature of dining her. Parking was plentiful, and the drive was fun going under the little arched train bridge. Worth seeking out in the area.

A very cool menu cover opens up to a diverse selection of options to satisfy the whole family with some Eastern/central European favourites that caught my attention....My wife and son went with the seared salmon where I opted for the classic schnitzel....We were all completely satisfied with our meals from the salmon which was buttery, cooked to perfection (that a lot of places screw up) to my extra crispy full of flavour schnitzel on a bed of crispy yet soft spätzle...washed down with a cold Czech Pilsner and a classic gin martini... I was in a very happy place!! But that didn't stop my son from ordering the decadent River fritter... or I think we accidentally called it the River tail... no idea why... but it was delicious!! Looking forward to exploring the menu further on our next visit to Godrich!! Thank you!! Zeke

Went on July 13 2024 Is anyone running this place?…read moreFor a Saturday in the summer at peak season it was not even very busy. We arrived to a sign that said seat yourself. We went out to the patio and so did some other tables. We all sat there for 25 min and no one came to serve us. My partner went inside to order drinks for us and asks if a waitress was coming outside? They said he had to pay for his drinks up front and they would sent someone out. I can understand if this was a busy weekend but the place was not busy. We waited another 15 minutes and I went inside to ask if a server was coming outside to take our order. The woman behind the bar asked how many were outside I said lots of tables. She said oh we didn't know I'll send someone out. In the mean time the owner or manager was making himself drinks and sitting at the bar drinking. Servers standing around chatting after we asked repeatedly if anyone was coming out to take an order. Few minutes later one waiter comes out and stood next to our table. I said hi eager to give him our food order and he looked at me and walked away?! He went to the next able and asked if they needed to order. They said yes they needed to order food and the waiter looked at them and went inside!! At this point I was worried about what the quality of the food would be with this service and such a large menu and looked up the restaurant. After reading other reviews we decided to finish our drinks and leave. We went to the bistro down the road which was a much improved atmosphere and experience. Will not be back here . The quantity good and again fried to order so they came out piping hot. The Non Dairy / Vegan Sea Salt Caramel Coffee regular hard ice cream was very good. So glad SRDI keeps and the local dairy makes a vegan version. Made this vegan very happy. Kids took quite a few pictures of the playground, large muskoka chair, the small plane, mini golf ($). It's easy to see why this place has been a beloved part of the community for 50+ years. The food is delicious and consists of mostly fast food style burgers, hot dogs and deep fried favorites. They have a large selection of ice cream, both hard (Shaw's) and soft, and the biggest decision you'll be making is which flavour to get as they have a ton to choose from. My recos: - Ranchburger (comes w/ ham) - Mac and cheese wedges w/ ranch (my mom's fav) - Fries w/ ketchup & mayo - Banana milkshake - Soft serve: coconut or banana - Sundaes: blueberry or strawberry All in all, it's a nice place to check out with lots of tables to eat outside and the big open sky is great for watching sunsets. Bonus if there are small planes taking off and landing beside you on the runway.
