Whole cheese pizza
Kate R.

We got cheese pizza here with low expectations based on the looks of the place. It was like an abandoned garage-turned pizza place and was run by this lady who wouldn't leave the counter, almost guarding it like she had illegal exotic animals in the back. We on vacation so got the damn pizza and didn't look half bad. Sat down at the little metal table that looked like it'd give me lockjaw and ate some. I have to say, I don't feel revolting now status-post Beach Pizza Garage however I doubt I will park there again

I wanted to try this pizza. Once I get an idea in my head....I have to try the food! Anyway, we got here right at 11am when they open. The owner or manager says give me 15 minutes. It is the day after Tortuga Festival. Ok.... Well at about 11:30 they were finally ready to take our order. We waited about 15 minutes and got our slices. It costs $4 for a slice so very fair for being by the beach. I am judging this place on the pizza and not for having to wait. The pizza is ok. It is not bad at all and not fantastic. Right in the middle. They do have a wide variety of toppings but I just wanted to taste the pizza without thr extras..I doubt I will be back but would do do if I really wanted pizza since pizza choices are limited in this area.

Used to be a real pizzeria with good NY-style pizza -- some of the best around. But there must be new owners because I was really disappointed last time I stopped there. The inside is different and the pizza is terrible now. Basically frozen pizza -- way too thick, too much cheese and hardly any sauce. And they serve it with sides of pepperoni, shredded mozzarella cheese (NOT grated parmesan), and pineapple on the side. Pineapple! Used to be a favorite after the beach and a few beers at the Elbo Room, but I won't be stopping there anymore. Skip it. Don't waste your money.

Pizza joint just off the Ft. Lauderdale beach on Las Olas. I needed a quick bite and this was a good choice. The pizza was very good. Beer was cold. I would stop here again if I was in the area.

After a date night at Pixar Putt we walked across the street to find something quick to eat. We saw this pizza place with music blasting and people waiting out front. It seemed like such a fun spot to order a slice of pizza. We didn't wait long and the man who took our order was so fun and outgoing! The pizza pies were all laid out behind him and they looked AMAZING! They were thick and cheesy and he was NOT shy with the pepperoni. I totally recommend this spot if you're in the area! It's fun and casual. Please excuse the already bitten pizza pic, LOL.

I'm from Philly and this is the best pizza in FLL that is like the northeast. Seriously. Yum.

I thought I was in college again last night stepping into Beach Pizza. There's nothing like a slice of pizza when you went out drinking all night. The pizza here was delicious, large portion size,And of course right off the beach. I love a staff that can tolerate a bunch of drunk queens late at night. Definitely a place to stop at.

After all the hype and difficulty getting in, I was very curious to see if it would actually live up to expectations--and honestly, it did. First, the cons. The restaurant is tiny. Like...teeny tiny. There's basically no standing room when waiting to be seated or picking up an order, so everyone kind of awkwardly crowds near the front door while servers and bartenders are constantly weaving around you looking mildly annoyed that you exist there. Eventually, people started gathering near the opposite end of the bar by the bathrooms because there was at least a little more breathing room. Once seated, the atmosphere is very lively, loud, and fast-paced. Not necessarily a bad thing, but definitely not the place for a quiet intimate dinner. Our server also may have been having an off night because there was a bit of attitude mixed in throughout the meal. That said... the FOOD. Unreal. Absolutely worth the wait and reservation struggle. Everything we ordered was exceptional. The sweet long pepper, Savage Garden salad, and Bolognese pasta were all incredible. Then came the pizzas--the fresh tomato pizza ("upside down pie") especially was ridiculously good. The squash blossom and cold pulled burrata pizza was also delicious. To finish--because we weren't stuffed enough--the strawberry olive oil cake. A literal perfect ending to the meal. Despite a rough start, the food completely stole the show. Easily an 11/10 meal. Now I just need to survive trying to get another reservation for round two.

Our waiter was awesome, great personality, and good recommendations on drink and food choices. We had the pinkity drinkity and Ginny 17 which were both on point, well-balanced drinks. I had to do the veal bolognese which was very comforting and filling while my husband had a hearty sausage and kale panini that I found to be a little too heavy for my taste. I would definitely like to try more from their menu as there were a lot of things that caught my eye but couldn't fit in for this visit. I would try to find a less popular time, if that's even possible.

Exactly what you want from a neighborhood pizza spot that clearly knows what it's doing. We started with the house salad and it absolutely delivered. Fresh romaine, chickpeas, cucumber, red onion, gorgonzola, peperoncini, olives, and egg, all tied together with a light Italian vinaigrette. Simple ingredients, done right. Next up was the Margherita Napoletana with a side of anchovies. I'd put it at a solid 8/10. Excellent flavor and that classic coal-fire char. I'm already planning a return trip to try the traditional New York-style pie, which feels like a necessary research project. Also worth noting: a surprisingly expansive list of Italian wines by the glass, and all fairly priced. Dangerous in the best possible way. Service was attentive and friendly, and the whole place had that great neighborhood vibe. Lots of regulars, families, and people who clearly know this is their go-to spot. Honestly, I can't believe it took me this long to check it out. Luigi's has officially entered the rotation.

The name says it all. DNY stands for Detroit and New York, and they serve both styles with equal mastery. They also offer gluten free options and, even better, a full lineup of house made vegan choices. What really sets DNY Pizza apart is the level of care that goes into their vegan menu. Their vegan cheese, vegan sausage, and vegan pepperoni are all made in house, and you can taste the difference. They even make vegan cookies, and while the vegan ice cream is not made in house, it is still excellent. We ordered a New York style pizza with vegan pepperoni and mushrooms and a Detroit style pizza with vegan sausage, peppers, and onions. Both were incredible. The crusts were perfect. New York is foldable and flavorful, Detroit is thick and crispy on the edges. Choosing a favorite really comes down to personal preference. I honestly could not pick one. The vegan sausage was especially impressive, full of flavor, and the pepperoni was cooked just right. Next time the only thing I would change is asking for extra cheese. It was so good that I just wanted more. The sauce is just as good as everything else, and I recommend asking for a side of it for dipping. I usually leave some crust behind, but not here. Both crusts were so well done that I did not leave a single bite. A heads up. Seating is limited, and because everything is made fresh to order, expect about a fifteen to twenty minute wait. If you are hungry, call ahead or order in advance. Overall, DNY Pizza is absolutely worth trying. There are not many places making their own vegan cheese, vegan sausage, vegan pepperoni, and even their own vegan cookies. Give them a shot and let me know what you think when you go. The small bites were delicious and a great way to sample a personal recipe from the owner. The dish was a pear & cheese fiocchi (learned from our guide that the proper way to pronounce 'ch' in Italian is with a hard 'k' sound). The walnuts and hot honey, along with the housemade fresh pasta, really made this dish (though I couldn't taste the pear...palate isn't subtle enough I guess). Our guide had learned that it is the owner's Nona's recipe (just like the aptly named Nona's meatballs, which I want to come back for, along with their pizza). There is a large speakeasy in the back, which is where our group of 11 sat. As one would expect, they had a large selection of alcoholic beverages as well, many inspired from the Prohibition era. The young owner made sure to greet our party and answered any questions that we have. It has been at this location for more than 10 years, and seems to be thriving.

Although this place looked great, but between crying kids, and a couple poorly done menu items, they lost a lot of points on execution... Our server Tomas was great! Best part of the whole experience. When we got to see him, which wasn't often, because they were short staffed or something as he was also tending bar (where he excelled), and running to take care of everyone, all while being berated loudly by an older gentleman we had to assume was the boss. The food was where they could have made up for that, but sadly, it was all over the place. - Calamari were crispy yet tender, and perfectly seasoned breading, but the accompanying sauce was too spicy for almost everyone in our party. - Meatballs were decent sized, and though they presented beautifully they were dry and overly dense, with their sauce on the opposite end of the spectrum with almost no flavor, and sadly that matched the flavorless meat as well. - Pizzas were the star, creative and delicious though, with just the right amount of toppings but just too much char on the crust. Tomas really shone as a bartender/ mixologist though, coming up with imaginative cocktails on the fly based on our favored liquors. The ambiance is cool, and there is a really decent speakeasy vibe going on with the decor but maybe try it at night to see if that vibe comes through under cover of darkness, cuz today wasn't it.
