I worked at an ice cream shop during my teenage years, owned an ice cream business and consider myself pretty picky. From trendy shops in NYC to dairy farms across the country I've tried it all. You can tell a super premium ice cream by its high butter fat content, Beach House is as premium as it gets. Hands down the best ice cream in the area, especially the Oreo Cookie which was absolutely insane. It is loaded with cookies, the ice cream is rich and the portions are huge. You can tell they don't skimp on ingredients, the ice cream base is basically grey with so much Oreo blended in lol. Their vanilla is rich and silky, and the better pecan is chock full of nuts. Only disclaimer there is a hint too much maple syrup, could've fooled me for maple walnut. One random thing that I keep an eye on is the temperature of the ice cream. Too hard and it's a pain to scoop or eat, too soft and it's basically soft serve. The consistency here was on point, they cover the tops of their ice cream gallons to prevent icing and to keep the temperature consistent. Kudos guys! I don't know why there isn't a line around the corner. Maybe it's the location, but either way this is worth a visit. read more
