Was disappointed. The service was abrupt and very fast. Ordered a jalapeño margarita and beer. Had the calamari and the oysters. Oysters were good. Small but good. The calamari was ok, had a few pieces that I felt was not completely cooked. Ordered the seafood sandwich ok. Indistinguishable seafood in an indistinguishable sauce. The truffle Parmesan cheese fries were delicious. The view is fantastic. Wished it was a prettier day. May come back. read more

This a little bit of a different review. As Peggy and I are sitting up in Oswego Marina as we get ready to do the Erie Canal moving south again obviously we haven't eaten dinner recently. So why am I writing a review? Everybody knows they have those places that they'd love to go back to. I'm sitting up here getting ready to go through the Erie . I am athinking about what the future holds, as I think about the Beach House. One of my favorite places to go and you can tell that by reading my other reviews. So tomorrow we start three days three days of locks and canals working our way closer to the beach house. The Beach House is one I would recommend in a heartbeat to anybody that's in the area. Even if you had to drive 60 miles to get to it you can't do better. So for those of you they are lucky enough to be in the area and stop by and enjoy the fine cuisine the ambience of the sunsets the staff and of course the rum selection I am jealous. I'm envious. You're the lucky ones. I don't know what the status of the Beach House is after the storm but hopefully they came out OK I'm looking forward to stopping there next time we're in Florida. I'm seeing a question from Yelp saying what went well? The services are always great the food is always great and the view is always great and I miss it all. May the wind be at your back. Valet parking was a teaser: Both men were courteous, quick, accommodating and efficient. Once inside, one is met with a carnival-like array of "beach goods" and several attendants, who are probably high-school seniors. Once seated, you are handed menus which are as colorful and inviting as a Zebra. 'Menus suck! There is more emphasis on appetizers than entrees, which are disorganized and have little in the way of explanations or choices. Thank God for Caleb, who explained everything and got us settled and fed. Judging by the mass of people outside on Sunday and the paucity of people in the restaurant, it appears it's missing some obvious clues regarding service, curb appeal and pricing. I was invited to a wedding here at this venue which is literally right on the beach. We had the actual wedding on thr beach and thankfully there were security to make sure random shirtless strangers wouldn't come to close to the ceremony. We then were moved to a private outdoor beach area w/seating. There was a buffet set up on the sand area. The staff was friendly and accommodating along with the young female blond manager. We asked for them to turn on the fans bc it was so bot which helped. The food was pretty good and was re stocked promptly as well. Altogether it was a fun experience! read more

the food was good, but it was overpriced for what it was. our service was alright, but they were busy so it's understandable. i don't think i would go again if in the area solely on the price of the food vs the quality that we got. one upside is the separate parking lot for the restaurant. that and it's right on the beach. read more

Me and my now wife had planned to get married in October 2020 at the beach house. We live in illinois as well as our family, extended family and friends. When covid hit we weren't sure what the situation would be especially with the wedding date coming closer and covid getting worse by the day. Restaurant closings and capacity limits being put in place all over the country. We noticed it was not possible to have the wedding due to lockdown.Having people in our family with health issues and for the well being of everyone here and there We rescheduled for April of 2021, hoping the pandemic would be over by then. As the months passed we realized this was way bigger and longer lasting than anyone expected. With myself and my wife both being out of work and falling behind on everything we decided this florida wedding was not possible. Not possible for us and not possible for 75% of our guests. It was not a good idea to risk the health of any of our guests. We decided to cancel the wedding at the beach house. Being in a pandemic we understand it is hard for everyone businesses and patrons. We asked for a refund of our deposit and they denied 100% of our refund. This is not a place that is begging for business and we are 2 middle class people that are just trying to make it through this pandemic. This date was also filled after we cancelled so the beach house did not lose any money by us canceling our wedding! Unbelievable!!!!  This was a hard enough for everyone and adding a financial burden is just rotten!! read more

We were here for a wedding, it was a beautiful beach wedding. The food was buffet style and the prime rib was amazing, juicy, soft, and full of flavor. The restaurant is beautiful, the staff was amazing, the restroom has this amazing scrub for your hands that left mine soft and moisturized. read more

My husband and I eloped here. Shawn, the sweet lady who helped with our wedding plans, was perfect with everything. We had originally planned for a family kind of wedding but as a lot of unforeseen circumstances had happened, she was accommodating enough to still allow our wedding day happen, even that it was just my husband and I. The view is AMAZING. It has everything a beach wedding should have- palm trees, major rocks, beautiful greenery, white sand, tiki/wooden style restaurant, on the beach, and sunset. It has EVERYTHING that will make your beach wedding photographs AMAZING. I highly recommend this place. You cannot get any better than this. The prices were reasonable and the food was delicious and oh, the drinks were even more delicious! We definitely will return here for many years to come. read more

My husband and I got married here on 9/9/18. It was such a great experience!! Shawn the events coordinator was a delight to work with! She made everything so easy!! From the rehearsal the day before, to the wedding and reception, we had a perfect experience!! The food was amazing!! The service was impeccable!! The drinks were amazing also! We were worried because it was so inexpensive... but at a great price it included everything we needed and the venue was perfect!! Under cover, but a sand area where we could take photos with the perfect ocean/sunset view. The bride's quarters had a bathroom, mirror, along with necessities just in case something broke (pins, needles, tape, scissors, etc).. and It was cool enough for when I was overheating from nervousness!! I recently attended a wedding at the beach house. It was a very small wedding with about 20 guests in attendance. The ceremony was held outside between two palms and the bride and groom opted for an inside reception to avoid the heat. The Pros: -The wedding coordinator- a very nice woman whose name is escaping me, was very attentive and accommodating. -The drinks were good. -The bar staff was really nice The cons: -The food was a little less than ok. I went with the fresh catch of the day and it was overcooked with little flavor. The mashed potato served with it most likely came from a box. Gross. Appetizers were ok though so it's right in the middle, I'd say. -Our server was TERRIBLE. Honestly, he was the worst server I've ever had in my life. He was so rude to several of guests after simple requests like a soft drink or a spoon to eat dessert. He actually said things like "When I get to it" and questioned a guest about why she didn't have a spoon because he already put one on the table. What a jerk! At about 9:45, we asked for another drink and he rudely told us no- that he had called last call. We didn't hear him, so my sister asked "when?" and his response was "Don't worry about it. Bar is closed." We hadn't been over-served at that point so that wasn't the issue. We went up to the bar and they happily gave us drinks stating they were open for at least another 15 minutes. If you're looking for a place with good food and good service for your wedding, I suggest you look elsewhere. read more

So sad to write a bad review as my husband and I were married here. Seems like since the renovation food and service has taken a complete decline!! Not to mention how expensive everything is now. We were there a couple of weeks ago and I wrote an email to the manager expressing my concerns with the service. He quickly apologized and offered to send a gift card that was of course never received. I guess I will just keep the good memories of this place in my wedding photo album because I unfortunately will never return! I started planning our destination wedding living in Virginia, just happened across the BeachHouse online. It was scary planning that far away, some before even seeing the place or meeting people face to face. But they far exceeded my expectations. Everything was taken care of from beginning to end, before needs even arose. I primarily worked with Shawn who is one of the sweetest most upbeat people I've ever met. She is such a pleasure to work with and took care of every detail perfectly. Our wedding day started a bit rainy, and she even hunted me down at the hair salon and found me via their phones to tell me everything was on schedule and we were going to go ahead as planned. And when she noticed the flowers hadn't arrived yet, she called the florist and had them there before I even had time to notice and address it. Impressive! Special diets were taken care of and my niece and nephew were treated like little princes and princesses, even at rehearsal. The food was amazing, my dad (who doesn't even eat shrimp) continues to talk about the coconut shrimp. And the guests tell me often that it was their favorite wedding they've ever been to, and they couldn't believe how great the food and service was. Many even went back for meals after the wedding they loved it so much! You will not receive better service or a better experience with your wedding (or even dinner!) than at the BeachHouse!
