The wine selection is very small compared to the choices at Publix, but the convenience of not having to wait in line (aka QUICK!) usually outweighs my decision to go elsewhere. The staff I've encountered have always been pleasant; they are helpful and kind, always wishing me a good evening (or poking fun at my Drivers License, ha!) Overall, 5th Avenue Liquors is a great shop with good stuff, staff, and spirits. Cheers!

That was a place down the street that said, "We don't have what you are looking for, but try Deerfield Discount. They don't look like much, but they have everything". I was surprised that the nice place for one, didn't have the things we needed for the Mai Tai's we wanted to make that day, and for two, would recommend another place. I walked into the unassuming spot. It wasn't fancy. There was a few customer's and a handful of people working there in the store. A fella that was working the floor came up to me right away and offered to help find what I was looking for. Within minutes the 2 or 3 things that I couldn't find elsewhere, this guy wrangled for me. I was impressed on how stocked they were in rare things you wouldn't normally be looking for like orange tinctures. I live close enough I think I will be back this year, to get things that we might need for other recipes. It's a good spot.

I like to buy halloumi cheese "grilled cheese" which you'll not find easily. Last time I checked Publix and whole foods, the halloumi cheese coasts about $15 where they sell it here for $4.45! I also like their feta cheese which is also imported. They also have "sucuk" Turkish sausage pronounced as (sujook) which is a tasty beef sausage with great flavor of Turkish spices. I love their chocolate, sodas and all the imported snacks they have..I'm just glad to have this place here.

Last May Publix announced they were transitioning all Greenwise stores into traditional Publix so I went back to see how it changed. One of the newer stores, the inside is beautiful. Now carrying regular Publix has with the addition of Greenwise products, the store is so nice to shop. There's a beautiful meat department, a nice deli, fresh seafood, and a large choice of ready to eat foods. When I have to shop Publix, I prefer to come here. It's easy to navigate, staff is nice and you can get in and out quickly. They don't take the Publix app yet so if you have Publix coupons they don't work, but they told me they should be set up soon. All in all, it's a better shopping experience than some of the bigger stores.

As I admired the entire wall of bourbon, the clerk began offering me small tasting cups. Although I am more of a red wine drinker than a bourbon enthusiast, I appreciated the opportunity to sample several bourbons. Since I was buying a bottle as a gift for a friend, the Two Bitch Bourbon Batch #8 caught my eye. Afterward, I walked around the store and purchased Coffee Cake Cream Liqueur and S7S Dreamsicle Cream Liqueur. For another friend, I purchased a kitchen towel and a bottle of Buck Summit Old Vine Zinfandel. The store clerk was also knowledgeable about wines because I asked for a wine similar to Duckhorn. At the checkout counter, another store clerk also demonstrated an excellent knowledge of wines and even suggested food pairings that would complement my selection. I also purchased the Classic Italian Stack--an assortment of oils--for a friend who is a chef. Spirits & Spice also offers a rewards program. Overall, I found the staff to be friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to help, making for a very enjoyable shopping experience.
