The breakdown: HOURS OF OPERATION/LOCATION - 5/5 A short walk from Eglinton station, north on Yonge Street. Appointments are available as early as 7am to late 7pm. SERVICE - 5/5 Everyone is friendly, nice and professional. I had Jasmine as my dental hygienist whom cleaned and buffed my teeth - very sweet and was very mindful of sensitivities around my gums, teeth and mouth. She really got all the unpleasant stuff out. She was also informative with information of preventative care and answered all my questions clearly. Candy was the one that took my Xrays and she was sweet as a cookie. She has been with the practice since 1984 and she definitely enjoy what she does. She made quick, easy and comfortable for me. Dr. Ari examined me and was really nice and funny. He was professional and only recommended what should get further examined and what could be left alone for monitoring only. It was quick and pleasant. The ladies at the front were also very nice - sorry dont know their names but quick, friendly and accommodating. CLEANLINESS - 5/5 Clean, fresh and neat. I called and explained l, immediately they could tell I was distressed and offered an appointment within a short time. Dr.Randy Fisher was able to undo all the previous neglect and completely rejevuenate the tooth, he then was able to perfectly fill my front tooth. As they should of been, since I was paying thousands of dollars in a matter of 3 months into her business. 2 years later I am finding out just how bad the quality of her work was. Dr. Waldman never adjusted the set of my dentures to sit properly on my jaw. I am now paying again, to have a new set made as well as being in excruciating pain because of the damage done to my jawbone. Most dentures last 5 years before needing repairs, mine are being completely replaced.

I remember her saying to me "you're going to have these the rest of your life". Well, they lasted a few years - all of them. Each one fractured and needed to be replaced. In addition, she missed a little bit in the root canal and I had to have a specialist go in from the side and nip out the problem. I can't say whether or not crowns from a different lab would have made a big difference. But I can say this... dentists who aspire to give you full crowns for movie-star teeth are not looking out for your best interests. Rather than an overlay which has margins above the gumline where they get cleaned through brushing, full crowns have their margins at the gumline where flossing is necessary. I've never had any luck flossing the outside and inside of my teeth. Now the slightest of margin issue at the gumline means the trapping of food and decay working up underneath the crown. Surprise - you now need a new crown - after the tooth is removed and you have had an implant! Best of luck to those travelling this road...

Horrible Office Staff Experince!…read more I tried to email this place about their dental practices as I was curious for some insight and was rudely spoken to in an email and degraded by whomever emailed me today (2 march 2024). Whoever works at the Dr Arun Narang office should check how this person spoke to me, it was a simple misunderstanding on my part and was hit back with a degrading email that made it seem like I wasn't "serious" about what I was asking about. I was told to send photos, x-rays and a letter from my orthodontist so they could refer me to a surgeon, which I responded that I would get those documents from my orthodontist (since I don't have them with me so I would need to ask my ortho) and I said this I said that I would need to contact my ortho to get this info and I will be in contact with them soon, yet I was screamed at through email by whomever was email. And I was told in the next email ,after I said I STILL need to get those documents for you I will give it to you soon, that " If you want to be taken seriously provide me what I am asking ". How rude can you be. This is how I know this person didn't read my email. I had to email back and refer to my previous email stating that I still need to get the documents. I was also told "Do what I asked of you" which is quite a harsh way to speak to someone who is a potential customer. Horrible Horrible customer service. Staff doesn't have to be this rude, its appalling. Staff shouldn't be this cold to potential customers. I have however found an amazing office somewhere else, the staff is amazing and kind. Kindness goes a long way.

This was not the case. The hygienist was excellent and explained everything as she did things, let me watch Netflix on my iPhone, and asked if I needed breaks when I winced during the cleaning. Please don't let this last line deter you, the wincing is because I'm a wuss and again, deserved to be floss shamed. My new dentist, Dr. Walden was lovely, understanding, quick yet thorough and I definitely trust her with my smile. They're taking new patients, and if you have insurance they take the payment directly from your insurer which is mighty handy. Say cheese!

[gesturing vaguely to invisible problems on an Xray] Well, I'm sorry, but here's the list of 14 things that NEED to be done. You do have insurance, right?" This was so not my experience here. I explained that my insurance runs out in two weeks and I have a sore tooth, so they squeezed me in to a short-notice cancellation. Two points for them there. I arrived late (my bad - had the address wrong) but they still whisked me in fairly quickly, and everything was done quite efficiently. I've been going to older-fashioned dentists in Oakland, CA where the Xrays were still being done with that horrid cardboard stuff and put up on lightboxes, so the digital ones that went on the overhead TV were kinda cool. Nice to be at a 21st century office. Dr. Walden and the hygienist were both really, REALLY nice. They were friendly and helpful, explained what they were doing and what the jargon meant, and despite the fact that it's been about 18-20 months since I'd seen a dentist, were not patronizing or casting about for things to stick my insurance company on. Actually, Dr. Walden was quite complimentary on my oral hygiene - so many dentists are rude or patronizing about it. The only problem they did find made complete sense (the corner of a 30-year-old filling was broken off on the tooth that was sore - now I understand why the floss kept snapping!), and the receptionist offered to fit me in this afternoon to get it fixed. Like other reviewers have said, no one LIKES to go to the dentist, but when they make it an almost pleasant experience, you can dislike it so much less. Addendum: I'm back from having that filling fixed. I will admit that dental work and needles in my mouth terrify me - a previous experience with an awful dentist in California that left me unable to chew on the left side of my mouth for *three years* - and Dr. Walden was very, very considerate and careful dealing with an obviously extremely uncomfortable patient. She kept up a reassuring patter throughout, interrupting herself frequently to keep me in the loop about what she was doing, explaining, checking on me, at one point informing me that I might want to clench my hands just a wee bit less since one of my fingers was clearly losing circulation... I sent my neighbour to her recently, too. His assessment? "She rocks!" And how often, I ask you, does someone hear THAT about a dentist? NOT SAFE FOR DISABLED/HIGH RISK INDIVIDUALS…read more I have been a patient at Amberlea Dental since I was a young child. I am someone who is high risk for COVID-19, and needs to continue taking precautions. The last few times I have been to Amberlea Dental, the receptionists have been very bad about wearing masks, taking them off to speak, wearing them incorrectly, etc. When I entered what was supposed to be my most recent appointment this week, every single person at the reception desk had their masks under their chins. I firmly pointed it out and asked if they could put them on, and they all sighed, one giving an audible "oh God." Because of this extremely rude response, I brought it up to my dental nurse, and explained how their refusal to wear masks makes it dangerous for me to access treatment. She was dismissive, and told me if I could speak to the manager if I wanted to. I said I would like that, which was when I then learned the manager was one of the unmasked receptionists. She fought with me publicly, stating that she didn't need to wear one as it's a "personal choice." I told her that as a healthcare worker, she has a responsibility to make her facility accessible to disabled and high risk patients. She said it wasn't any of her responsibility, and said to my face that she doesn't need to keep at risk patients safe. I said that infecting a disabled or high risk person could result in their death, and tried to confirm that she was saying this meant nothing to her. I said, "so you don't care if you give a disabled person COVID and kill them?" and she responded, "no. Why Would I? That's not my problem." During the argument she also tried to tell me that COVID isn't an airborne virus, when I said her not wearing a mask makes it dangerous for me to be treated because air circulates throughout the building, she told me her "mouth particles" can't get through the closed door, displaying a clear lack of understanding of how the virus even works. She tried to back herself up by saying that she doesn't mask anywhere else either, and then got frusturated when I said that was an even larger issue because it puts the high risk in even more danger to be exposed to her. The entire reception team and my dental nurse ganged up against me, talking over me and cutting me off in the waiting room in full view of other patients. I was asked if I was going to "stop arguing and go to my appointment, or leave," so I walked out, and will be seeking a new dentist. This kind of unprofessional and eugenicist behaviour from any healthcare worker, but especially one that works in an environment where at risk people have no choice but to be maskless, is abhorrent and disgraceful. They do not care in the slightest for the safety of vulnerable people in the community, and have no issue voicing it loudly and publicly. To all other high risk people, save your time and your stress and go somewhere else. I am beyond disgusted and shocked.

I'll admit that you need to be careful when choosing a hygienist - some of them are really rough and others are not so much (and I think this is true of almost all dental offices), but all of them are fairly talkative and make the time in the chair go by pretty quickly. You always get a choice of cleaning paste flavor (cherry, bubblegum or mint) and when I was a kid, they had wicked fluoride flavors, tutti frutti. The best part about this place is that they'll work with you to make sure you get what you need. I was without benefits for a while and as such, they were willing to try and keep the cost down for the sake of my wallet. My boyfriend is in need of a custom nightguard and we need to front some of the cost as my benefits doesn't cover it all and they were more than happy to offer him a payment plan to ensure he got his night guard sooner than later (and they were more concerned with him getting the nightguard it seemed!). When I was a kid, there were only 2 dentists or so here and now the number has increased quite a bit, but all of them are very nice, very thorough and explain everything as they go along. I had my wisdom teeth out last year in-office (no hospital for me) and recently had one cavity filled and another existing filling redone and both experiences were good. When I had my wisdom teeth out, I had complications by no fault of the dentist, but they were willing to answer questions and had me in just to make sure everything was progressing properly when I was worried (and no charge on that visit). The two very best things about Amberlea Dental are: The Staff: All of the front office staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating (and when you're due for a cleaning, you always get vice nice pleasant voicemails asking for a call back) and they all seem to care about the patients The Hours: They're open until 9PM almost every night of the week, open on Saturdays and closed on Sundays. This makes it easy for you to get off work at 6, head to get your teeth cleaned at 7 and be home in time for a late dinner. Even for me coming from Toronto, I never have a problem if I'm running late: I've had to call them a few times and they've been nothing but accommodating. If you live in the area and are trying to decide what dentist to go to, this is a safe bet!

I feel like the staff value their customers differently. The receptionist's, hygienists, and Dr. Kaplansky himself give varying treatment levels in terms of service to customers. I found my cleaning to be rushed. I mean 35-45 minutes in and out rushed. My hygienist was not the most personable either. I tried to make small talk, and help ease my anxiety of the dentist but she did not make me feel any more comfortable. Dr. Kaplansky is a busy man, totally understandable. But as a patient, I feel like I should be paying for his presence, instead of him popping in and out to say hi for 1-2minutes during a 1 hour appointment. Although there are two receptionist's working behind the counter, I always find there to be a wait. They fail to even make eye contact with you. Half of the time, they are on the phone with someone, or starting at their computer screen. I understand you are busy, but make your patients feel welcomed, and valued, or else your banner of #1 Dentistry in Mississauga is completely irrelevant, misleading, and un-deserved.

As a result of my accident, I required both a root canal and crown for my front tooth. Dr. Kaplansky was very professional and did an incredible job on the procedure.
