So they can keep the $8 if it means that much to them but people need to be alerted.

Melissa kept in contact with me so that I would be assured that I would in fact receive the top as soon as it was located. Thank you, Melissa! The Shops offer a variety of women clothing stores to suit almost every taste, there are children+toy stores, eateries, a souvenir shop (and not a cheesy one either)- to name a few. While this place isn't flashy with De La Renta, Karan and the like, the clothing stores- for instance, are exclusive in their own tasteful Sanibel way. Some clothing can be too pink and turquoise for me (think of Vineyard Vines), but then there's the other side of Sanibel that's almost clean-cut with a minimalist feel. As was the case when I purchased 3 different minimalist-styled tops from two of the women's clothing stores in the plaza. Parking is a breeze. Grounds are immaculate. Take your time and venture to the 2nd floor also. In the many years hubs and I've been coming to the island, bringing gifts home has always been easy.

Also, a lot of super cute stuff- both Florida & surfer branded as well as just cute beachy brands. I was not expecting this in a Surf Style store. Of course there's all the cheesy knick knacks too like magnets, snow globes, shells, glasses and others. Those were as expected: not high quality but higher price. And again, if you needed beach stuff they have towels, chairs, beach toys, sunscreen, goggles, and even coolers. In a pinch you could have an easy fix coming here.

Normally, Brooks Brothers employees are friendly and helpful and know the product extremely well. I've even come to develop lasting friendships with salesmen from other BB stores. Unfortunately, this location is a long way from being the type of Brooks Brothers shopping experience I've come to expect. From walking in, I was all-but completely ignored. Eventually, I sought someone out to point me to a fitting room. I asked the same salesman if they had a different fit of the trousers I tried on, and was instead given sizing information for shirts, not trousers. When I tried to pay, I was ignored at the checkout counter while the man and woman were having a separate conversation. Then they debated between them who was going to check me out, with the woman saying in front of me: "I can do it if you want." I've never seen people try so hard to not earn a sale. If I wasn't there with a specific purpose to re-stock because there isn't a BB store near where I currently live, I would have walked out. The clothes are still great, but this is now the second consecutive Brooks Brothers store I've been to with very poor service, the other being the Lenox Square Mall in Atlanta, GA, which was even worse than this one.

They were double the price at other stores in the area. Make sure to check the back of your receipt so you can use the discount if you go back. Numerous displays throughout the store held unusual but visually interesting works of art for purchase. What I remember most about the location was the pop of color each item had against the stark white floors and shelves that made up this establishment. Cases of jewelry reside in the middle of the store. Everywhere you look there is something fun to look at. The pinnacle of my visit though was a gander through their chest of antique jewelry.
