Beach Cities Chiropractic is more than just a Chiropractor. They have a great massage therapist, do all sorts of physical therapies and have helped me to learn how to do things at home to make the adjustments last longer- exercises and stretches to strengthen the weak areas of my neck and back. I did a cleanse through their office last year that helped me to feel healthier, thinner and younger. I have been a patient of Dr. Publico and Beach Cities Chiropractic for over 20 years. I was referred to Beach CIties by a family member of mine who has also been a patient for over two decades. I was devastated to learn that Dr. P passed away last year. There were over 250 of his patients at his "celebration of life". I think that alone speaks to what a great person he was. Since the loss of Dr. P Beach Cities has gone through a couple Chiropractors. I have no complaints about any of the ones I have seen. I trust that the staff at Beach Cities, Mrs. P and Kasha are very knowledgable and always seem to know whats bothering me. Mrs. P- Dr's wife has always been the office manager and still runs the practice. I have always had a pleasant experience dealing with her and my insurance company. Nothing fishy here. read more

what the heck happened to this place? my wife went here a few times last year, but as of the new year, the phone just rings...no message, the place seems shut down and there's graffiti starting to show up on signs and stuff...their website is dead. did the doc die or something? gosh i hope not...but there's no message on the door, no answering machine...total ghost town. follow up (apr 5, 2008) -- found out they moved to a new location but they did a lousy job letting people know that. read more

I don't usually write reviews, but I was so upset with my last appointment that I thought I should say something so new patients don't walk in to this chaos. It should be noted that the first reviewer is Dr. Publico's daughter and employee of the office. Not your best source for an honest review of a practice. Dr. Publico unfortunately passed away and since then, the office has had a high turnover rate of chiropractors. I've been a patient for a while and tried to hang in there through all of the recent changes, but I just can't do it anymore. The office manager is nice enough, but primarily concerned with making money. She overcharges insurance and office/cash fees. When asked about the sketchy charges, she gives me some song and dance explanation. Not an honest business...at all. I'm older and I just need to be adjusted once or twice a month for maintenance. I really like Dr. Kinnear. He was on board with my plan and agreed that I didn't need to be seen often. When the office manager caught wind of this, she was highly upset and persistently tried to schedule me for a couple times a week. She even interrupted my conversation with Dr. Kinnear to insist that I come in more. If the doctor agrees with me, why would I be talked in to more care than I need? It's ridiculous to think that she has more knowledge of health and chiropractic than an actual chiropractor. So, it's clear she's all solely about making money. Also, the building looks like it's for sale. So, maybe things will naturally work itself out. Dr. Kinnear - if you read this - I'd love to be a patient if you ever leave Beach Cities. I have been struggling with frozen shoulders from severe capsulitis for several years. I tried physical therapy and cortisone injections and was advised surgery was the only option to regain range of motion. I have been a patient of Dr Shock for several years and he has brought me such relief from my lower back pain but I never mentioned shoulder problems. He worked on both shoulders for about twenty minutes and I am blown away at the improvement. I know how knowledgeable he is but frankly never expected such a change in my motion. I have been going to Beach Cities chiropractic for a couple of years. The staff is warm and wonderful. They helped me when I was in the worst pain of my life (childbirth was a breeze.). They took a person who was bent and distorted and made me walk upright again. with occasional adjustments, I have been pain free for over a year. I will be forever grateful. I have been to several chiropractors in more than one state through the years and although the results have typically been very positive, my experience with "Dr Schach" has been head and shoulders above the rest (pun definitely intended:-) I'm essentially on a "maintenance" or "as needed" routine, but I definitely feel much better following treatments. My wife & I ride bikes averaging a minimum of 30-50 miles per week which helps to keep us fit & loose, but for me the additional weekly visit to Beach Cities Chiro adds another level of pain relief I would not otherwise be enjoying...Thanks again Doc!!! read more

I am very grateful to have found Beach Cities Chiropractic. I have had lower back pain on and off for years (recently more on) and jaw and neck pain as well. My dentist and medical doctor could not relieve the pain. Going to a chiropractor was the best thing I ever did. Dr. Schachtschneider has been great. After two weeks I have less pain. It feels good to have someone acknowledge my problems. He took time to listen to my symptoms and made me feel very much at ease since this was my first visit to a chiropractor. Doc Shock (or as I call him Doc Cool) is the best chiropractor I have ever been to, he is now in Carlsbad and so glad he moved up here. I have been doing Chiro since I was 21 (about 40 yrs) and went to Western States Chiropractor College and had adjustments ($8.00 back then) from at least 50 different students, along with the past years and many chiros. He is by far the most thorough, intelligent, intuitive chiro I have been to. He found things I didn't know I had wrong and it makes so much sense to me now that the pain I was in wasn't JUST "soft tissue" as the MD's say. Doc is really working with me on getting better and I can't wait. If you can come up to North County he would probably love to see you all and if you live here already he is right in Carlsbad off of Carlsbad Village Drive.
