I've been a member for many years I've seen many managers come and go. I need to say Hannah by far is the best manager that has ever worked there. I walk into that tanning parlor and everyone greets me by my name and with a smile. Hannah always keeps me up to date on new lotions and which bed has new bulbs, sometimes she even calls me to let me know. Yes, I know tanning is horrible for your skin. Yes, I know people might reply to this review with "oh em gee melanoma!!". Yes, I know all about wrinkles. But...I look ridiculously unhealthy without any sort of tan, plus I was a kid that lived on the beach for a good 6 years of my life so going from that to having no tan whatsoever is crazy talk. With that said, I LOVE Beach Bum. I've tried other tanning salons but nothing compares. I would give them a 5 star rating but the price takes one star away. However, once you're a member there, they send you coupons on a monthly basis so you never pay full price for unlimited tanning, anyway. They offer tons of different beds (I prefer standups) and you won't get a burn (actually, maybe that's just me since I don't burn). The staff is always really nice and if you start going at a regular time, they'll most likely get to know you. read more

I only go to this location when I'm in the area. The staff is sweet and the rooms and beds are clean. The bulbs are not as strong so you're in the bet a little longer than if you go to the one in Seaford. I really don't like how they blast music super loud on a speaker right by your head, but I'm sure they could turn it off if you ask. read more

If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would!! Staff is extremely friendly and welcome me when ever I come in the door. The regular girls even know my name, which I can appreciate. The diamond level beds get me darker with just one session and the airbrush technicians can not be better! Definitely recommend read more

I am not the one to leave reviews but I felt I had to leave a good one based on my experience. I had my airbrush tan done by Samantha M at the Levittown location today for the second time. This location has really genuinely friendly young ladies who work here and are not the stereotypical tanning salon girls, which is refreshing to be honest. The place is really clean and you can tell they take great care of the beds maintaining them and replacing the bulbs when necessary. I love all of the beds at the Diamond level. The only thing I wish is that they had baby wipes like at the other locations so that I can wipe my hands after putting on the bronzing lotion. If I come to this location, I have to bring my own wipes which is sometimes a pain but it is the closest to where I live so it will have to do. read more

I registered at the Beach Bum in Plainview, which had the worst customer service ever. However, the last two times I went, I went to Levittown which is closer to my home. Let me say, the two girls I came in contact with at this salon were SO SWEET and lovely. They had great recommendations and seemed to actually care about my experience at the salon. I don't advocate tanning since I work for a dermatologist, but I am going on vacation and need a base of some sort. I would recommend this salon to ANYONE! I wish I got the names of the two girls because I would even want their manager to know how sweet they were! read more

I would give this Beach Bum 4 stars but I can't out of principal. I paid $31 for 10 MINUTES plus $10 for JWow's bronzing lotion. Totally irrational that it cost that much. And anything "Jersey Shore" makes me want to vomit (I still have yet to seen an episode) but I have to say the bronzer was great and the bed seemed to really work! I've been waiting and waiting for the sun to come out but I had to give in to indoor tanning. Hey, my doctor said my vitamin D level is severely low I had to! lol I've tried Beach Bum once before in 2007 and had a horrible experience but this time it wasn't unpleasant at all. The girls working were really helpful and polite. I went for the UWE iBed which is a Diamond level bed. It has 3 settings, Basic, Mediterranean & Caribbean which cracked me up. Aroma mist, aqua mist, I mean all the bells and whistles are on this thing. BRING YOUR IPOD IF YOU CHOOSE THIS BED! The music they had sucked big time. Seeing how in 2 hours I'm already sun kissed I may have to go back and buy a package. read more

DO NOT get an air brush tan here. Uneven color, completely missing areas, extremely splotchy and streaks. Manager was willing to offer a touch up, but didn't want to chance it and make it worse. read more

This is my second go-to Beach Bum location now that I live in Hicksville. I would give all these places 5 stars if the price just wasn't so awful. I've tried those little cheap shops here and there but you just don't get the same tan. Although the prices are steep they usually offer some sort of coupon or deal for your purchase. The staff is nice. The beds are clean. You are given a towel and goggles. I know tanning is frowned upon but I only go once maybe twice a month to keep a nice little olive glow. If you're gonna take the plunge I would choose these UVs over plenty of others! read more

Was at Target buying buying crap i don't need and decided instead of going to the Seaford location like usual i would try this spot out. I have no idea what is in the water at these places but the girls/guys that work for Beach Bum are the most friendly happy people on Planet Earth. I have never been here before and they greeted me like an old friend. I do the MYSTIC and while i hate not being able to shower for like 6 hours its better than the reg tanning. I am in love with this place!!! Not only do you get one of a kind service but you are dealing with people who actually care about you. I have been coming to this location for a little over a year now and I have absolutely no complaints! Rich and his staff are fantastic and are super personable with every customer that walks through the door. I know I am in good hands when I have any questions about tanning; like what is the best lotion for me. I don't ever feel like they are just trying to sell me anything to make a buck...the staff truly wants to make sure you get the best product for your tan. Don't change a thing! read more

Having been to pretty much every tanning salon in Nassau County, I have to say that this Beach Bum is the absolute best tanning salon. The prices are fair and the beds are always super clean. Beach Bum makes my inevitably cancerous life happy by supplying me with unlimited supply of Vitamin D and the joy of jamming out in my skivvies while tanning bed dancing to dirty house music. Loved this location! Just moved to Long Island and needed a new place to tan.. A friend of mine referred me to this Beach Bum and i could not be happier! The location is beautiful and VERY clean. The staff was so friendly and surprisingly very knowledgeable (lol)... The guy working behind the counter set me up with an awesome "New Customer" special. Basically i got a month unlimited in the best level for $119 bucks. He also gave me a packet of this awesome lotion called Signature i believe.. If you like bronzers you need to try this lotion. Amazinggg. This place also has this body wrap thing. I've been dying to try one of these! Deff going to try it out.. Such a pleasant experience over all, I would recommend this place to a friend. read more
