Absolutely disgusted by the customer service I took my friend to go tanning, she walked in at 8:56 on the door it says 10 . They tried to tell her she couldn't tan and I walked in and said you don't close until 9 and the girl was like well it's 8:59 and I said yeah she was here waiting in the front at 8:56 for someone , they let her tan . Open until 9 means anyone can tan if you walk in before 9pm . And if that's a problem put a sign saying last tan at 8:45. Also wait until the customer leaves before you start talking badly about them . She could hear the #%*! Talking from her room while tanning , and the girl with the long black hair was standing in front staring at me . Also my friend was rushed only did 6 min to be nice and not hold them up and the bed has multiple bulbs out . And the girl with long black hair just gave nasty looks at me when leaving. I love this place! It's always super clean, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the hours are great! I usually tan but decided to try the Cocoon fitness Pod on one of my visits. I love it! The infrared lights combined with the different levels of massage have helped my sore muscles, my skin feels great, and there is an overall feeling of wellness after only 1 session! I think it's a cool feature that you can also exercise while in here for 35-minutes but I choose to relax. I signed up for a full month of unlimited because it was such a great value. read more

I've been to BB BRICK a few times to tan. To my displeasure, I found the beds to be quite unsanitary, the lay down seemed to have a thick film Over it , when I wiped it with the provided towel it was a sticky substance . It wasn't the first time. Needless to say after seeing that more than once, I opted for another location. They need to CLEAN UP THEIR ACT. read more

Normally I would say yes nice place to tan, however I tanned there this morning sun gate bed room #7 I had a 9:00AM appointment which means I was the first one in the bed. I didn't realize until I was already in the bed!! It wasn't cleaned after the last person used it the night before. Imagine laying in someone else's sweet. I can confirm it's not good!!!! I asked to speak with a manager they only have a regional person that doesn't visit often. The lady behind the count was super nice she went back with me to look at the bed and could not believe how dirty it was top and bottom. My advice would be make sure you check the bed to make sure it was cleaned before you get in it. *********** After posting this I did get a call from management, they were extremely apologetic and was going to speak with the staff so that it doesn't happen again. Well, this is a first, i'm taking the time to write about a tanning salon! Well, I moved to Brick in sept, and have heard that this place is filled with tanning salons. I've been to a salon on van zile that was great, but VERY expensive. I also went to a tiki tan on (i think) chambers bridge... wasn't to impressed. But then i heard there was a Beach Bum tanning salon in Brick, my friend told me that these places are great, so i decided to give it a shot. They really supprised me! I bought a great package (level silver[2]) for 49 bucks! That's a cheap price compared to others. This includes 10 sessions which are good for 60 days. The equipment for silver is a Cobra bed with HP face tanners. I have tanned in gold (a UWE Lotus) and recently a Platinum bed (Dr. Mueller Icon). I liked the cobra bed, but was high in uvb, so i tanned in the gold for only 3 dollars, i like the bed a lot.... it doesn't burn, it doesn't seem to strong for me (not an avid tanner with leather skin). The platinum bed was slightly dissapointing. Dr. Muller beds are good beds, the icon is also a good bed, very strong. But the beachbum website has the Orbit as level gold.... the icon is the new version of the Orbit. NOW i wouldn't have a problem with this, but half the features on the bed wouldn't work. Which makes the bed an Orbit with stronger bulbs. The bed is supposed to have aromatherapy (didn't work) a misters for when you're to hot (didn't work) and the ionizer feature could not be found (my fault). The bed had VERY STRONG face tanners. I felt like the skin was melting off my face, so i decided to turn them down to min..... wish there was a medium level, but it was still a nice touch. Besides the cheaping out on features for the bed... this place is great! Great prices.... sundays you get a free tan (not even using tans from a package) when you purchase a $5 lotion packet (pretty sure that's how it works). Good lotion selections. This place needs to advertise there iBed, they also need the rejuvisun, and some type of non-uv mosturizing bed (planet beach has them they're great). This location also offers UV free tanning California Tan Booth, and Airbrush. OH YEAH! They're open tilll 12am.... the only place i know where i can tan at 11pm, staff doesn't make you feel unwelcome comming in the door at 11pm either. This place is #1 in my books for tanning or i wouldn't have bothered with the review! read more

My favorite place to tan. I live in toms river about 20 min away but always more then worth the trip. not to mention they're open til midnite every nite which makes it extremely convenient. Their prices are great and they're always running specials. Literally ALWAYS. Their beds always have extremely fresh bulbs so I get great color every time. The employees are condescending and extremely rude. None of them were wearing their mask properly. They do not have any patience for anyone and cannot be bothered to assist anyone. The one and only bed I went in was dirty. When I asked the employee to please clean it, she rolled her eyes and huffed and puffed. Thank goodness I only bought one session. I belong to Beach Bum from 2012 . I bought about I think 2 mthys worth of spray tans for my son and daughter in laws wedding. I hadn't used all of them. So I had like 4 left I was going away in July this year so I used 2 . So before I left I wouldn't burn now I have a golden tan I might use my last 2 I don't know when but I hope to by another 2 mthys worth . They are the best . The staff is great . Just started going here this week. Just looking for a little color before I head south for a week and have to wear shorts! Don't want my white ass legs sticking out like a sore thumb! Anyway, love it here. The lobby area is clean, spacious and comfortable although not super important because I've never had to wait for a bed! I use the stand up bed because the other one are too much like a coffin and make me claustrophobic! But in just two 7 & 9 min sessions I already have a a light tan. The front desk employee was patient with me my first time in, explained my options, the packages and even suggested the best way to get my tan and save a little money. Will definitely be buying more sessions here to keep up a little color until it's warm enough to get to the beach! read more

Beach Bum Tanning Salon in Brick NJ is one of the best tanning salons I have ever visited. My favorite part is the salon hours. Open until midnight is what lured me in and convinced me to switch to Beach Bum as my go-to salon, even though there may be ten salons closer to me. I will travel for their awesome service!! Trick here is to add bronzers to spraytan. Do not add excelorator or smells and u will get a perfect spr,ay tan. The warming tower is awesome and the front staff rock. Fourth time is a charm will be back. read more

I used to love this place and have been going for a few years now. The beds are not updated they don't ever keep the water in the titanium /platinum beds. The prices are still high and the quality of the beds is that of a regular tanning place not the elite as beach bum used to be. read more

****HEALTH WARNING EVERYONE**** Everyone has always spoken very highly about the services offered and the cleanliness of this facility. After the personal experience I had, I have every reason to now believe differently.Coming home from college I was interested in having a summer time job with Beach Bum. A friend who worked here for 4 years had recommended me and I was called for an interview. The manager Dayna Crowe could not have been more rude or unprofessional. The interview was a total of 3 minutes and only 4 questions, she did not even take me back into any type of office she had the interview right on the waiting couch. She told me I would be called back within 2 days with the answer of whether I had received the job or not. I waited the two days and did not receive a call. On the third day I decided to call and was not able to get in touch with her. After 9 days straight of calling and 7 voicemails later I finally was able to speak with her. When I told her I was calling to see the results of my interview she told me she did not remember me and had lost my application. After a long phone call with her she finally explained to me that she wanted me to come in for a trial day so she could evaluate my work ability and she would determine if I had gotten the job or not. I arrived on time the next day for my trial and asked for Dayna since she was the manager and would be training me. To my dismay she did not even come out to greet me and had another worker train me. Once Dayna saw me working she went into the back and fell asleep for the two hours that I worked since she didn't have to since I was there now. I was only suppose to be there 1 hour and ended up being there 2 hours in which I was unpaid and received no recognition for the extra hour spent there. While being trained I was taught how to do laundry, do some computer work, and most importantly clean the beds. Here is where the HEALTH HAZARD is. I was taught to USE THE SAME TOWEL 4 TIMES before throwing it in the hamper. I was under the impression that it was 1 towel per bed, but I was incorrect and they made sure I knew it. After all of the hard work I had done Dayna had woken up from her nap and told me that since my application had been lost she needed me to write down all of my availability hours once again. When I did she pulled me aside and told me my hours would not work since I went back to school in September she had then told me that training takes 2 months in which I was never informed not even in the interview. Also during the interview when I had asked her about my availability she had told me it would not be an issue. If she would have told me this from the beginning rather then telling me they would work I would have never came in for a trial run. Once she told me that I did not get the job she looked me up and down and word for word said to me "you can go now". After saying this she tried to offer me two free sessions for the inconvenience. When I spoke to someone a week later they had told me that training only takes 7 days. DAYNA CROWE is one of the most unprofessional managers from loosing an application, not remembering who she interviews, and sleeping in the back room while she had me do the trial run. When talking to other I have heard many poor things about DAYNA. Please be aware of the dirty beds that you are about to lay in and the unprofessional facility you are about to enter. read more

I have cancelled my account (by a fill in girl from jackson ) filled out the paper work and all 5 months later I get a charge for 500 dollars out of my account spoke to manager told her I cancelled months ago! Was told they can't find my paper I could not get refunded ! But could have 3 months of tanning on them !!???!???? Since they seen I wasn't in for months ! Was told they called me ! I asked what's my number they had no response and could tell me later ! They didn't have my info Im discussed and sick to my stomach over this ! 500 dollars and asked please check YOUR records to get a refund ! Ever since the management changed everything went down hill. The new manager is so pushy and rude. She tried to push me into a package when I told her I wasn't looking to tan more than the month. These girls work off commission and make nasty comments under their breath. I caught them talking about me when I walked back from the bathroom. On top of that there were finger prints all over the bed my friend went in and they are so over priced. Definitely do not recommend!!! read more

Great beds! The lock on one of the stalls in the woman's bathroom has been broken for 2 years. There needs to be some sort of facilities inspection. The beds that spray you with water, never have water in them, it always says empty. Annoying. read more
