Nail tech Asuzana (forgive me me for misspelling or misunderstanding name) great gel job!

The only reason there is a 2 star rating is because of the nail tech. She was Awesome! Otherwise save you $72 ply 20% tip. Clearly overpriced, but hey it's an airport. The chair broken, needs replacement. It was uncomfortably low to the ground-not made for giving a comfortable or RELAXing pedicure. Focus does not seem to be on mani pedi but rather massage. Nail tech was great, But even so, will plan better so as to never use this spa again.

Pretty consistent experiences and still enjoyed all the different pools and saunas. Love the tangerine ice cream and still love the deluxe scrub. Such a great way to spend the day with loved ones. For $120 for the day and $180 (with gratuity) for the scrub, I wish I was treated the way the spa treatment individuals were treated. They pushed us away from valet parking and we walked a little ways over. We were treated very well by all the employees.

When you walk in, a security guard is there to check your bags and such. They won't allow outside liquids but have water filling stations all around. After the security guard, you have to put your shoes in the locker. You then go upstairs to the 3rd floor where there is a girls and boys section for changing. Compared to an actual Korean spa, you have to bring your bathing suit. They have changing room areas all around the locker room. The inside has a ton of showers (both Korean style and American). They have an indoor sauna in the girls side and a couple hot tubs. Then you can go out to the outdoor areas. They had a cold waterfall. There were also several unisex hot tubs. This place also has a quiet area to lounge, several saunas with different medical properties, and a gym. The amenities here can go on and on. They definitely balance health with adding a coworking space. It's also interesting they have an infinity pool that shows NYC from the rooftop. The place also has a seasonal grill area and other food court options so you don't have to leave.

I had…read morebeen to the King Spa in Niles, IL several times and absolutely loved it, so I was expecting a similar relaxing experience. Unfortunately, I left feeling completely disappointed and more stressed than relaxed. I went on a Monday morning hoping to avoid crowds and have a peaceful day. Things started off on the wrong foot almost immediately. While I was simply checking the size of the uniform, holding it up to see if there was a difference in the width, an employee came over and snatched the second pair out of my hand as if I was trying to take something I shouldn't have. It was not a great way to start when I had barely gotten in the door. Next, the layout was also really confusing. The spa is spread across multiple floors with different sections and stairways, but no one explained where anything was or how to navigate the space. I spent a lot of time in the morning trying to figure out where I was and it felt like I was nosing around someone else's house: uncomfortable. The biggest issue, though, was communication. A woman in the locker room offered my niece and me a deal for two massages for $140 ($70 each) and asked me to send the money through Zelle. I sent $170, including what I thought was a generous tip of over 20%. She arranged the appointment, but I didn't confirm what type of massage I wanted. I foolishly assumed they would ask before starting. We had lunch beforehand - the food was delicious and the portion was huge. Unfortunately, they don't offer to-go boxes, so I needed to reschedule our massages in order to finish my meal. Before even finishing my meal, I went to the massage counter to see if we reschedule our appointments. A younger patron helped translate at the massage desk, but she needed my time slot and took it for herself. She told me the woman would help me reschedule and then left. When I tried to figure out my new time, the interaction felt rushed and dismissive. I was given time without being asked if it worked for me, and when I asked about other options, I was told there were none. I would have cancelled but had already paid, so I took the L. When it was finally time for the massage, we were taken back without anyone asking what type of massage we wanted. I realized my mistake because it was a much more intense massage style and is not my preference. At that point though, after so many rushed and uncomfortable interactions, I honestly didn't feel comfortable advocating for myself to tell them I wanted reflexology. The final issue happened while I was changing before leaving. The same woman who arranged the massage came over and told me I hadn't paid enough tip. I was confused because... it was a tip. She told me I owed another $20 and (to add insult to injury) that I couldn't get my license back from the front desk until I paid. That brought the tip to over 35% on a service I didn't choose and didn't enjoy. I came to King Spa looking for rest and relaxation, but instead left feeling like I had spent my hard-earned money somewhere that never quite felt comfortable and certainly not welcomed.

The so-called professional, Pam, waxed and burned my armpit, leaving me in a terrible situation. I usually go to my trusted lady in NYC, but being in the Newark area visiting my siblings, I thought I'd give this Brazilian salon a try since I was desperate for a quick treatment. Little did I know, it would turn into a nightmare. From the beginning, I should have realized something was wrong when Pam didn't bother cleaning the area before applying the wax directly to my skin. It felt strange and too hot, but I didn't say anything, assuming she knew what she was doing. I paid, left, and thought that was it. The next day, my armpit started burning intensely, and I couldn't even put my arm down. It turned extremely red and painful. I thought it might be an allergic reaction, so I applied allergy cream and hoped it would get better. Instead, it got worse with each passing day. When I finally managed to get in touch with them and informed them about my horrible experience, they were apologetic and suggested I traveled to Newark and pick up from them another cream. However, being in NYC while they were in NJ made it challenging for me to visit them again. I sent them pictures of my injured armpit, and they assured me it wouldn't scar and offered to reimburse me if I chose to buy the cream myself around the area to use it. Despite applying the cream they suggested, there was no real improvement. I decided to seek help from someone I trusted, and they confirmed that my underarm was indeed burned due to the salon's lack of experience and complete disregard for proper procedures. Frustrated, I reached out to the salon, requesting at least a reimbursement for the waxing service, but they ignored my request. I persisted in contacting them, but they left me on read. Finally, the receptionist (not the owner) called to apologize and offer me my money back. This establishment's behavior is deplorable, showing a clear lack of respect for their customers. They view people as mere sources of income, not as individuals with feelings and concerns. I strongly advise staying away from this place. Even now, two weeks later, I am still dealing with the painful consequences of my burned underarm. It hurts, prevents me from working out due to sweating, and I can't wear sleeveless tops because it looks terrible. This has significantly impacted my enjoyment of the summer and the sun. Take this as a warning - avoid this salon at all costs. They are not worthy of your trust or your patronage.

The therapist didn't speak any English so with this language barrier, she did whatever she wanted and I just had to make the best of it. The massage tables were uncomfortable and the sheets and towels were old rough on my bare skin. The amount advertised for the 90 min or 120 min treatment is totally different from what you will be charged on your way out. I find it distasteful and rude to demand a tip greater than 18%. At one point I felt uneasy and disrespected after paying for the treatment in full and leaving a tip greater than 18%. I wasn't aware that it was mandatory to have to pay an additional amount on top of the fee and Tip that was already paid. I wasn't sure I was allowed to leave if I did not leave atleast 30% tip to satisfy the cashiers demand. Not sure if this is a regular practice, however I won't subject myself to this embarrassment and uneasy feeling of disrespect. 06-04-2026 - @approx. 1pm est I received a call from someone named Sophia, saying they are "the manager" . The first red flag was I was text thru an automated system from the business then I was called from someone calling from a Pakistan phone number +92 99 239080. Conversation started pleasant and immediately went left once I began to explain my issue with the service & treatment I received while patronizing this establishment. It almost seemed like a rehearsed script used for all complaints and issues. First I was told that "maybe there was a language barrier , that was misunderstood. 2nd she immediately informed me that she saw my review and began contesting "my experience at this spa". 3rd she then told me that she "reviewed camera footage" , and this is what didn't sit well with me. This wasn't a call to resolve or fix a situation with a customer, this was more confrontational. She also said I was free to leave at anytime due to the fact that I stated , I wasn't sure if I would be allowed to leave without increasing the tip. I wasn't sure also accused of leaving a false review of my experience and at that point I asked if it was possible to get an email contact for the owner. The last thing this "manager" said before I ended the call was "this is what I mean, I am trying to work with you" as if she was doing me a favor. No thank you. Have a pleasant day.

Only to be met with refusal of service by the service provider. We are African American, and we were very patient with them given the circumstance. But we sat there and waited because surely they weren't being prejudice right to our face. Not in 2026, in Manhattan, NYC, of all places. Well... The male masseuse was giving a customer a foot massage when we arrived just around 9:30p/10pm. The door was locked so we rang the bell. He answered and asked if we had an appointment. My husband answered we did. We sat down as we saw he was massaging the feet of a female customer. But in the interim he started with "No one is available ." "We close at 12am." "I don't speak English." And any number of tropes to indicate he and they were not going to accommodate us. I asked about the hours, he refused to answer. He didn't speak English, he said. So we sat there and waited for someone else to come out. While we waited, another Asian male customer came to the door. He was able to walk right in . He wasn't asked if he had an appointment. He was told to wait 20 minutes. So I pulled out my Mandarin translator in Google Translate since he stopped answering me to ask, "Are you open 24 hours?" "Are you refusing service?" The young lady getting a foot massage tried to help by asking us for clarification (not the masseuse) but at the end of the day we left because the tone was very "We are not going to give you Black people service." It didn't matter that the website says 24 Hours. It didn't matter that we sat patiently waiting. At one point, a lady came out and said only ONE of us could get a massage. I used the translator app again to say, "We are going to go. Your website says 24 hours. You dont want to accomodate us. It's fine. I will leave a review and we will go. Please change your website and you won't have this problem. Translation: 我们要走了。你们网站上写的是24小时营业,但你们却不愿接待我们。没关系,我会留下评价,然后我们就走。请修改一下网站信息,这样就不会再有这种问题了。 Wǒmen yào zǒule. But it won't really matter what hours their website says... if they don't want to service Black people then, that's the main issue. And that is not okay. In the uber home, my husband was angered to no end because he as well as I knew that they were flat out giving us racist treatment. The look on the female customer's face said it all once the other non-Black customer came in and was given an appointment immediately. She just didn't have the wherewithal to say anything in our defense. Completely demoralizing.
