It's free & that simply cannot be said of most activities or things in today's world! Yes,…read morepatience is absolutely necessary bc depending on the day and time you choose to visit it could be reasonably busy OR really congested! We've visited twice, the first time was shortly before Christmas & we decided to just "check it out." It was approx. one week prior to Christmas & it happened to be on our way home so we thought "why not?" We were pleasantly surprised, even tho some of the houses were not lit up (just a few) but most of the houses were dressed & lit up beautifully in their holiday BEST! It was evident that a ton of hard work & pride had been donated to this project! The event was originally dedicated to a child in need, within the community (I believe) & now the proceeds continue to go to a local family or person in need, I believe. Giving is what Christmas is all about, however if you do not visit on opening night, there in no way donate, that I am aware of, but I could be wrong? Once you get to the main entrance to the neighborhood, cars move seamlessly through the neighborhood w/ the route clearly marked, but as the main article & writer discloses, there is no way to get out of line once you've begin the tour. Last year, we visited again, this time ON Christmas Eve & the line to enter the neighborhood was outta sight! The line of cars snaked around the block & down the street and was quite long ... just to get to the entrance. My husband was not feeling particularly patient that evening, so we did everyone a favor & just skipped the tour. We are hoping to visit again this year and hope to actually see the beautiful displays this time. I will say this, it is well worth the effort, especially for the little ones, but be sure to be prepared in advance (all bathroom stops prior to start) and bring along an extra dose of holiday cheer & patience! Sit back, relax & ENJOY! Happy Holidays & Merry Christmas everyone!

Ashebrooke-Night-of-Lights is a well thought out organized exceptional display of holiday lights…read more Pros: 1. The cost - there is no charge per person or per vehicle. They do collect donations and all proceeds go to help designated families in need. (More information can be found on their website.) 2. The selection is superb. Pretty much any and every selection of holiday decorations you could imagine are in this experience. Everything from lights, inflatables, snow blowers, Santa, nativity, Hanukkah decorations. There really is something for everyone. 3. It's a well thought out planned event. It was not chaotic, or confusing which meant even the driver could enjoy the experience. Once inside each vehicle moves at a pretty steady pace. 4. The music. Some of the houses had music that played in their yard and a few had signs that said tune into a certain radio station to get the full experience. 6. You can't get lost once you make your way through the entrance. There were volunteers and law enforcement at every corner waving you to go right, left, etc., this ensures you don't miss a house and you get the full experience. It also contributes to the steady flow of traffic. 7. COVID safe activity. Such a great option to do with the family while being protected and warm in the comfort of your own vehicle. The did have a walking option however the weather was pretty chilly during our visit so we opted for the drive through experience which took us about an hour. 8. They have hot chocolate for sale. Keep in mind that they are first come first serve so if you come later in the day/evening they may be sold out. 9. For being free it far exceeded our expectations! It took about an hour for us to drive all the way through from entrance to exit, so for us it was worth the wait. Cons 1. Not the most convenient location. Depending on where you're located or staying, it can be a good 30-60 drive so make sure it's close to you before you pack up the family and head out. So I highly recommend you check before planning. 2. The line to get there is INCREDIBLY LONG! It took us approximately 45 min to 1 hr to travel less than 1 mile. The light at the corner of Kelly mill rd and Bethelview rd is highly congested and every green light only allows for 2-3 cars to go through at a time before it turns red again. So patients is key. 3. Once you're in the experience you can't really get out until you go through the whole subdivision. This is a follow the path type event. This wasn't a problem for us but depending on who is in your party just be aware that it won't be super easy to decide to leave and deviate off course. 4. There are no public bathrooms. For our group this wasn't a concern but if you have little children or elderly people in your party you might want to keep that in mind. 5. The music was cool when it worked for 1 house. However, most of the time the radio station it instructed us to turn to was all staticky. Then there was another sign for a different station - we turned to that one and the same thing happened, it cut in and out and got all staticky. It would be awesome if there was only 1 radio station to tune into and if that one station had a strong signal, however with this being free - it was more of a nice to have and not a deal breaker. However, if this was a pay per person or pay per vehicle experience then that would be a different story. Overall: I would definitely recommend this holiday lights experience It's remarkable to see how this community comes together to bring joy to so many who bring their families and loved ones to see the lights. It's even more amazing that they volunteer their time then take all of the money raised to pay it forward. Great light show and fantastic causes! #ASHEBROOKENIGHTOFLIGHTS

We…read moredecided to go on Christmas night, thinking it would be less crowded than before the holidays, but the line to get to the entrance was over an hour long. There was absolutely no one directing traffic either. The tickets are $15 per car, or a lot of people parked at a nearby lot and walked in for free. Walking would have been the better choice since you could walk the entire thing faster than driving through. There are arrows directing you where to go, but again there is no one directing traffic. Even after you get through the entrance, you're still just sitting in practically nonstop traffic. I got out of the car and walked to and through the entire carnival area faster than the car could even get there. The problem is that they make you drive through the parking lot where the carnival stuff are which made it really slow. Instead, they could've had people not interested in the carnival stuff drive right through to see the lights directly and greatly reduced the traffic. If you decide to stop, there's some rides for the kids that you have to buy tickets for, a petting zoo, and some food. Otherwise, you have to just drive through the busy lot to get to the lights, which honestly weren't great. The lights were very 2D looking and in many areas, they were put up next to spotlights which ruined the light display. They felt very skimpy and poorly scattered throughout the drive, which was done in all of about 5-10 minutes after waiting for over an hour to get through. There are two main areas of the lights that look decent (see the attached videos) but other than that, most of the drive is looking at a pop up light here and there. Even though the cost was cheap, I rather save my money and drive through neighborhoods to see people's own holiday decorations instead.

We made it through all the sections in 30 minutes with a toddler so the size was decent. It just seemed expensive for what it was and underwhelming. This is an annual event that is now in its fifth year.. I thought of it as a mini Rock City but this was not the case as it seemed to be strictly for kids and families. As my husband and I exited our vehicle and started walking along the outer perimeter, we could see the structures inside of the event and hear the laughter of children. Children were absolutely everywhere to the point that we decided not to actually attend. Attending would have felt too much like hopping onto that "I am about to pop" maternity tour when you aren't even pregnant or trying to ride the kiddie train when you have no kids. Awkward!! Later, I realized that we saw so many kids because this was a free event for kids 14 and under while only $10 for adults. This was a perfectly affordable event for families. On this last night, it was well attended and the local police or sheriff's office did a great job of controlling traffic and making sure that visitors were able to enter and exit with ease. I did notice individuals parking across the street from the event but this was not necessary as there was still plenty of parking when we arrived around 6pm. Now you know!

Frank came to our house and gave us a quote for Outdoor lights.  We approved and asked him to…read moreproceed with the installation and that is when I realized I was given FALSE information.  The big selling point was - Frank said that he uses LED lights manufactured by AMP (sister company of Volt) which are rated for 10 years (40,000 hours).  However, Frank warrants the lights ONLY for 1 year.  That was a red flag in my mind, but I did not connect the dots at that time.    On the day of installation, the installer Zach showed me the fixtures (see pics attached).  The fixtures with the lights (bullet UL-101 lights and UL-102 lights) were not in a box.  I asked the installer why they were not in a box (are these pre-owned fixtures?).  Zach said they do not get it from their supplier in a box.   Further, the fixtures did not have ANY identification - no manufacturer name, no SKU number... NOTHING.  Only the Chinese knockoff fixtures have NO identification.  Do these fixtures have AMP lights?  The answer is a big NO.   I canceled the installation and gave Frank multiple opportunities to clarify and he continues to be EVASIVE.  Note:  Very cleverly, Frank does not include manufacturer's names on his website....if you think for a minute you would know why....however, we are so busy with our daily activities that we really trust contractors and do not get into these details.       Also, watch out for the reviews for Abulous (many look Fake and Paid for).  If a reviewer has only 1 or 2 reviews and has glowing things to say about your service - it is MOST likely a Fake account!! I see several such reviews for Abulous.   Before you waste your like (like what I did), ask that you want to look at sample fixtures.  Do your due diligence!!
