JUST SO YOU KNOW: If…read moreyou are looking for a showroom with granite samples, you are in the wrong place. This is just the fabricator, (which was not indicated in any of their written materials or outside sign). When you enter the building, you will encounter hallways and a series of doors. There is no reception area, but if an employee hears you he or she will come out an provide assistance. The employee available referred us to their wholesaler, Easy Stones which was just a few miles away. When we arrived there we were asked to sign in before being taken back to view slabs. They had a great selection of slabs but they were of the exotic variety and reminded me of something I would see in a brothel or club. They were wild! We did pick out a couple we liked but we already have a preferred fabricator and a list of wholesalers from which to choose. When we arrived at Provin we specifically mentioned that we wanted granite to cover our shower walls. This is a specific thickness that is not carried by every wholesaler and we were told that Easy Stones could provide this for us. Well, they can't because they don't carry the necessary material, so we wasted a trip. Anyway, if you are looking for some wild and crazy granite for your brothel, they've got the hook up! *** For me, this was not an effective way of doing business because I would only go to a wholesaler if I wanted something very unique, if they were close to my home and used by my preferred fabricator. Also, I need something very simple for my bathrooms because they need to purr not growl when I walk in. I prefer to just go to the fabricator who has their own slabs, pick what I like, and leave with an estimate in hand. That's what I do, easy, peasy!

Leah Atkins worked with me for well over a year on the complete renovation, design, furniture…read moreselection, and decor details of my home in Peachtree City, Georgia. I researched several Atlanta area designers before hiring Leah Atkins Design. After meeting some others and obtaining quotes, I knew Leah Atkins Design was the best fit for my project. I felt comfortable with Leah's knowledge, contacts and pricing. Her grasp of my desires and style were proven at her design concept presentation. She had paid so much attention to detail I'd relayed in our first meeting, I was stunned to see my dream home taking shape under her vision. This renovation involved a complete redesign of the 1980's style interior inherited when I purchased the home, as well as furniture and decor selections. I lived in Florida while the renovation was taking place, and hiring Leah made this entire process a lot easier, as she oversaw every step of the endeavor. With Leah's assistance my home has become a modern and contemporary space and I am ecstatic with the results she achieved. It is a true testament to her talent that relatives, friends and guests who visit my home are in awe of the transformation. Leah has a friendly outgoing attitude that she easily maintains while remaining solution-focused. She has great communication, listening and organizational skills which kept me on time and on budget. Her patience with me was amazing. (Any delays were purely my own in making final decisions.) Having never used an interior designer, I was not sure what to expect. It all seemed overwhelming, until her invaluable guidance steered me through color schemes, flooring, cabinetry, plumbing fixtures, counters, tiling, painting, lighting, furniture selection and accessories. During this time, she displayed a high degree of integrity, responsibility and enthusiasm. She is dedicated to her craft and brought an abundance of creativity and new ideas to my home. While I committed a substantial investment to this renovation, Leah always looked for good value when making product recommendations. I came to see her as a very practical interior decorator who can deliver good value for both modest and high-end projects. The desire to provide good value to her clients was also apparent in time management and record keeping on the project. She was very professional and I always felt I was receiving considerable value for her fee. While she has definite opinions with regard to all décor related issues, she LISTENED to me and worked hard to understand my needs. She is a great person and very comfortable to work with. I loved working with Leah and I am happy to give her my wholehearted endorsement. If ever I undertake another renovation or decorate another home, she's the first one I'll be calling.

Heather and staff are clearly very talented. However, I felt that many times during our project…read morethere were long periods of time with no communication. In the middle of the project, she almost quit, stating her discomfort that I had stated a preference for furniture in a room she was doing. Install day was very mixed. There were may aspects that were beautifully done. However, there were many accessories that looked like they were thrown together at the last minute. This was especially problematic because they did not reflect my style, pillows were horribly scratchy and uncomfortable, and I had requested that I like things a bit minimalistic and it was over-accessorized in every corner. However, this would have been ok with me if we could have clarified what was wrong and it was fixed for the next project we planned on hiring them for. Instead, when we communicated about the things we wanted to return, she told me she was would no longer decorate for us. We had invested a lot in service hours, and she refused to compensate any of that, despite the fact that we were unsatisfied. In my opinion, it felt as if the whole thing was about making her happy and not us as the customers.

I have wanted to get a professional designer for years but was nervous about the cost, the process,…read more and how the rest of the family would feel about changing our living room around. But I finally made the leap this summer with Heather Fulkerson and I could not possibly be any happier with how our living room turned out. She won over my two toughest critics, my husband and my teenage daughter. Heather came over and together we talked about my hopes for the room and our needs as a busy family with two dogs and she immediately recognized how we could rearrange our existing furniture and TV to make our beautiful 2 story stacked stone fireplace the focal point in the room. When we first moved in 9 years ago we bought all our furniture at Havertys and used their free design service. (Dont get me wrong- I still like Havertys) But ultimately I felt what happened was they just sold us more Haverty's stuff but it was up to us to do the "designing". (which is not not my strong suit, haha). Here's the difference.... With Heather I felt she got to know us and our needs to create a room that is absolutely beautiful, reflects the soothing, relaxing space that you *want* to come home to and did it all while keeping our budget in mind. We needed contractors to come out on 2 different days, and they too were prompt, courteous and did a fantastic job. Then on "installation day" when we finally got the "reveal" I was thrilled. There were so many little details that pulled it all together. If you have never worked with a designer before but have been thinking about it , just know that Heather will work with your budget, explain the process, and create a beautiful space for you that your whole family will enjoy. I cannot even tell you how many "Wows" I've gotten on this room and how wonderful it is to come home to after a long day.
