Everything went as scheduled and looks really great and definitely added value and curb appeal to our home. We can't wait to get back out there and fill in the surrounding areas with dirt and grass seed and finally get to use our stored patio furnishings. He said he was going to seal the new driveway on Tuesday 11/5/2024 and both my emails have gone unanswered and the driveway still not sealed as of 11/17/2024. I was able to schedule an estimate quickly and get someone out to help us address our main issue which was our kitchen not venting correctly, in addition to a fireplace that we would soon need because of the cold Detroit winter. As a new homeowner, we did want to make sure that the fireplaces were in good working condition before we actually started using them so we requested a estimate on what the service and maintenance could potentially be for the fireplaces that we had in our house and any recommendations that they would have. The process was very straightforward. They easily walked us through the quote and what was needed and why, in addition to what the current condition of the fireplace was in to what would need to be done and how it would fix the problem as well as what comes after the service what could be expected what they would be able to help us with should we come across any hiccups after the fireplace maintenance and what warranties came with the products that we purchased. We purchased dampers some gas fire logs, and had our fireplaces updated so that we could use them last winter. From there coming this winter, we assumed that we would have to have the fireplaces serviced again because it was a new year, though we only had a handful of fires in the living room fireplace they scheduled the appointment. They were prompt and scheduling, as well as coming out for service and transparent enough to say we haven't used our fireplace enough to fully warrant a cleaning. This was refreshing to see this type of honesty from a contractor. Then we ended up having an issue with the smoke coming into our house on our serviced fireplace. They were able to address solve an analyze, the reasons why the smoke was coming in to our living room, though everything looked up-to-date and ready to go. It was next level problem-solving skills that they would rarely run across because of the unique fireplace that we had in our Historic house. It was very appreciated that they did not just give up and ask us to spend a gazillion dollars to throw money at a problem. DAMAGED SIDING and INSULATION: FSM cut a hole in my siding, leaving the insulation exposed for months (not resolved); DAMAGED FLOORING: FSM staff cut a large unnecessary hole in my floor (not resolved); FSM staff helped himself to what he wanted out of my yard, then entered my garage without permission, despite being banned from the property himself. POLICE and Ordinance had to be called. NOT SAFE to hire them. POOR quality: Seams not taped. Cuts in the liner. Grading NOT completed, leaving the entire project needing to be redone (not resolved); You end up doing the work: I had to dig my own crawl with their staff for 4 hours! REPEATED SAFETY RISK: FSM staff became aggressive on site and demanded more money from me. Spray foam, dirt, tools, and trash left behind on the liner. DUMP PILE left on the property. POOR COMMUNICATION: FSM either does not respond, or it takes weeks of nagging them. Even in severe instances of personal harm, they will leave you hanging. There is no difference in email, salesman, supervisor, foreman, text, calls, office- they are all the same and do NOT communicate with you or one another. BUYER BEWARE! DON'T do it! You pay a fortune to have this company destroy your property and cause you serious harm.
