The changing rooms were getting heavy use the day were there, considering that they were also clean. We used the family changing area and it was a little crowded, probably could have sent my husband and son off to the men's room. However we did have a shower and dedicated changing area after only a few minutes of waiting. The leisure pool was plenty big for the people there that Sunday. The toddler loved the easy entrance and stairs to get in and out and there were lots of floats around for the kids to play with! The older child (8) loved the slide. Yes it is short, but there was also no line at all and it was very fun with spirals and dips. Probably I would just shower the kids and towel them off next time (instead of trying to change them into dry clothes with the wet floor), but definitely worth it!

I talked to customer service at least 6 times, and each time they gave me an excuse why the pool technician didn't show up, one time they said that he had to take his girlfriend to the hospital. With its caring down-to-earth staff, split gym, pool and hot tub, steam and sauna, fitness classes, racquetball court and preschool, Ron Andrews (RA) keeps the community vibe fresh and flowin`strong. Maintaining a steady mixed demographic of preschoolers, moms, teens, fitness buff regulars and aquasizing steam-lovin` seniors, RA is a hub for the North Van community and it keeps us connected. And yes, it represents us better than the North Vancouver Boyz on Youtube ;) It oozes community factor and awesomeness... all because of the staff. They listen. After renos of the gym were completed a couple years back, the staff posted a bulletin: How do you like the new changes? Suggestions for improvement? [Suggestion box]. Though I liked the new layout very much, I submitted 4 suggestions after a few test-run workouts: more mats, add a full length mirror to the mat area, switch the location of a treadmill with another fitness machine because it's a little dangerous, and perhaps have a themed dance music night for a couple hours. And Voila! Within a week, my first 3 suggestions were implemented, and a basic questionnaire to have a dance music night went up. Community feedback is always encouraged here. They motivate. One of my friends began eating healthy and working out regularly to shed off a few extra pounds. She had been succeeding and gaining great results with her fitness plan. Noticing her change, the Weight Room Supervisor acknowledged that she was lookin great, ended up reviewing her food plan and providing healthy eating tips, and offered a couple personal training sessions if she could reach her next goal, which she did. How's that for motivation? ;) They care. Proactive, helpful, kind and continuously working to make it the best community centre it can be, the staff make RA the epitome of a well-run community centre. Core to their credo is community-mindedness. So by the looks of it, it's just your everyday reccentre with an average weight room and pool, but when you get to know it, you realize its the heart of our community... in the District of North Vancouver :)

They talk loud, get into arguments and deep discussions in mandarin or chinese. They are practically yelling at eachother in the sauna and hot tub. If you ask them to be quiet. They wont listen. IF you get the lifeguards to ask them to be quiet, they still don't listen. So my biggest complaint about this place is people from other countries that don't speak english do not seem to have any respect for anyone but people from their country. They have turned a public place into an asian cultural center. no non asians allowed.

Unfortunately not something that you would see on the van rec website. Only available notice had I called ahead or been such a regular patron to see the many signs posted around the facility. My disappointment was high at the cancellation as integrating fitness times in my schedule doesn't come easy. My choices 1. race over to Brittania and catch the last bit of their milder aquafit class choice 2. to stay and do laps although aqua fit is the greater motivator for getting into a cold pool then 3. noticing the gym on the same deck as the pool being mostly open decide to do some CrossFit training brilliant idea, and bonus the machine now offers real picture views of different terrain that you can pretend that you're walking through or jogging through or running through and best of all if Heights or steep climb's put you into an anxious state you can opt to have the track be devoid of heights or climbs plus you get a little information clips about the area that you're in geographically it was like an adventure walk. Even though Templeton is a smaller size pool its appeal is amazing. The hot tub is nice and hot and you seem to have lots of room even when there's quite a few people. Yay me for the Friday Fitness day!!

He replaced broken tiles, acid-cleaned the pool, fixed the circ pump, balanced the pool after the repair, all of which are not part of the original scope. We're concerned the house roof may have to come off in order for it to be repaired correctly. Please stay away from this company, my neighbour is having his roof done and the contractor came over to talk about what he saw on our roof and was showing his employees what not to do and when we told him it was Steeves his face just fell as he just did a roof repair in Walnut Grove that they did. They hire inexperienced contractors WHY because they don't care it's all about the money and they will tell you EVERYTHING you want to hear. Steeves will leave you with a mess and you will never hear from them again. How they can be left to do this to people is beyond me.
