There was a group of 6 of us and some of us had decided to stay back while 2 of us went to the store with 2 forms of ID. When they were trying to check out with another employee, the same woman came out and started yelling that since all 6 of us hadn't come back with 2 forms of ID, she wouldn't serve my friends at all. I don't understand what we did to make her so mad because it was truly a misunderstanding about the ID but she was so mean to us and it was overall such an unpleasant experience.

Friends and I will be going to 3 paid (reasonable like $15-20 per event) tastings. Last evening, we attended the Spanish Wine Tasting with Tapas and had a fantastic time learning directly from the winemaker/owner from Spain and served delicious authentic tapas from a food truck vendor, Boca'o. A fantastic mixed group with some beginners to experienced wine lovers. I also appreciate the small size of the room for about 20 people so felt like an intimidate gathering. For the price and experience, what a value. After the tasting, opportunities to buy the wines and have it autographed from the winemaker. The liquor store staff were also helpful in answering additional questions and where to locate other wines in the store for comparison.

Don't know the students name, but he was new and I asked him where he came from, was he a student. He told me he go his Masters at UBC in cyber security. I asked out of curiosity because I use the store consistently. He talked about the fact there were no jobs in his field in BC. And he would have to try and find a job in Toronto or something. In my opinion you would think if their are no jobs in Canada, the best course would be take his valuable education back to his homeland. It's actually unbelievable that India doesn't have it own Universities. We have over abundance of foreign students. Instead of having to set up a whole new life without family. I would go home. Which is why I said to him maybe he should go back to India. I should have followed up w good luck finding a job in his field. If the worker is that sensitive he shouldn't be in Canada. I didn't say anything racist. I was just offering a possibility. So the Manager screamed at me, they won't accept or tolerate...exactly what did I do wrong. I asked him questions because he was new. And we've recently had a flood of foreign students moving into Kerrisdale. So the Manager yells at me and tells me I won't ever be able to buy drinks at his store again. I think he forgets who's paying for his salary. No skin off of me. There are plenty of stores everywhere. I wonder how long this kids student visas lasts. Anybody watching global news. Especially, what's going on in France. Will know there is now a serious backlash towards immigration. And that it well know that foreign students, decide they want a life here. One of them was easily the worst wine I've ever tasted -- extremely light in color and tasting as if it had been diluted. I even shared it with friends to make sure it wasn't just me, and everyone agreed it was terrible. Based on this experience, I wouldn't recommend this shop. It felt like a tourist trap, and the recommendations did not reflect the quality I expected.

This is the third sub par experience I've had at this store recently, and it seems that it's become poorly managed and needs some help. I hopped on my Yelp app and found that Libations was right next door! I walked in and right away noticed the walls and walls of wine bottles. Local, imported, red, rose, white, chilled, not chilled, they have it all. I was able to pick up a nice chilled bottle of rose for only $15 - not bad for local store pricing. Why do they expect the customer pay the tip first of all? I really hate the idea. This is bad impression part. It's so sad that ruined my good feeling..... :(
