In 30 minutes, both of us came out with our new debit cards. It's great you don't have to wait for your card to be mailed. What should have been a straightforward process became a series of communication failures, errors, and unnecessary delays. Our first experience at the Hurst branch immediately caused us to lose confidence in the loan officer handling the situation. She told us she did not know how to navigate our circumstances, so we ultimately contacted EECU's digital branch, which was able to guide us through most of the process. Because the auto loan still required documents to be signed in person, we specifically scheduled an appointment at the North Richland Hills branch rather than returning to Hurst. The night before that appointment, the Hurst loan officer called asking whether we had intended to schedule with her. I then contacted the NRH branch to confirm our appointment was with them and explained why. No one returned my call. We arrived for the NRH appointment as scheduled. Despite having an appointment, paperwork was still being prepared after we arrived, and the process took nearly an hour. We were then told an issue prevented everything from being completed and that additional documents would need to be electronically signed later that day. Later that afternoon, we learned another form had either been missed or had not been completed correctly. We were told it had to be resolved that day or the loan closing costs could change. My mother and I completed the additional electronic signatures as requested. After that, we received no further communication and reasonably believed the loan process was complete. We were told we were simply waiting for the Texas registration sticker from the title department. After three weeks with no sticker and no update, I called EECU myself. I then learned that a form had been waiting for the NRH loan officer to take action on it for those three weeks. It appears the process only moved forward because I called to ask what was happening. Meanwhile, my elderly mother is driving a vehicle with an expired registration while we continue waiting for EECU to complete its part of the process. The issue here is not one isolated mistake. It is the repeated lack of follow-through: unanswered messages, incomplete or incorrectly handled paperwork, missed steps, weeks without proactive communication, and a three-week delay that was discovered only because I followed up myself. We received multiple apologies, including from management, but apologies do not correct an ongoing lack of basic follow-through. Based on our experience with this auto loan, I cannot recommend EECU. When handling something as important as a vehicle loan and title/registration paperwork, customers should not have to repeatedly monitor the process themselves to make sure required steps are actually being completed.

Most of the time we use a branch closer to our home but this branch is convenient if you have errands to run in the 377 area in Watauga. After getting a little money, I was headed out the door when a gentleman (Cergio) asked if I was interested in saving money on my Chevy's loan. I told him my Chevy was paid for but we bought a new Cadillac a few months prior and I had been trying to get that loan over to EECU with zero luck. In fact, I had been told they were 90+ days behind and were not working to refinance loans very much. I was shocked when the people at our home branch had told me this. All previous experiences with EECU had been great in terms of incentive, speed, service, etc.... I had always found everyone very helpful and responsive so this lagging lengthy display was a new experience. I asked Cergio if he was serious and if he could get the loan switched over within a few weeks. He told me he felt that was exactly what he would do. I spent few minutes getting him our details, exchanging emails and phone numbers and off I went curious as to how this would progress. I had applied four months prior at our branch but was told they could t help us for months. Within 2-3 weeks, Cergio got our loan refinanced, saved us some money with a lower rate and had the loan closed. He even assisted in getting our insurance certificate over to the right people at EECU. Thank you Cergio and Watauga EECU! You did a super job and helped me accomplish something I had been trying to do for months. He had no idea when he approached me.
