The bathrooms were clean with Cintas dispensers for soap, tissue and towels. We had two three meat specials. Catfish, chicken wing dings and rib tips with fried okra, collard greens and the other with green beans and candied yams. The chicken had a dry rub on it. We couldn't really taste it, but they were well cooked well. Fried hard and crunchy with a tender fillet inside. The rib tips were good but seemed more like mini ribs. They were tender but didn't fall apart. The greens were a bit spicy but so good. The fried okra melts in your mouth. The candied yams were sugar sweet and full of flavor. The green beans had bacon in them. Overall it was a great meal. Go enjoy You won't be disappointed!

Also, we're not fans of sweet BBQ sauce, and they had a Louisiana sauce that was tangy and not too sweet. The baked beans were unique. They were a little too sweet for our taste. I believe it had sweet BBQ sauce in them, along with some bacon. Good fried okra as well. The staff was very friendly and kind. The restaurant is a converted old gas station. However, the inside is very neat and clean and decorated well. Another benefit for us is that they played Blues music in the background. There is no doubt we will be stopping in more often.

This would've been 5 stars, however, the crawfish... the crawfish was either black/brown inside or really tough and chewy; which would've been not as bad cause everything else was good. Two words: Underwhelming. Expensive…read more Let's start with Underwhelming. 1. Dac's Sweet Tea is from the fountain yet they pass it off as fresh-brewed in-house. 2. The pulled pork and brisket just isn't very good. The brisket falls apart like a roast and the pulled pork has little flavor. 3. I had 6 BBQ sauces and 3 of them were adequate. The Honey BBQ is the best of the lot followed by the Pineapple Habanero and Hot. The Strawberry and Carolina Vinegar is too watered down and the Mustard BBQ is too heavy on the Dijon. They may have been able to get by on Underwhelming but Dac's is going to make you feel like a chump with your wallet. 1. They have a $4 upcharge for Mac and cheese with a BBQ plate. The only problem is the mac and cheese is just ok. I don't understand how the mac and cheese I was given deserved a $4 upcharge. 2. Remember those sauces? Yeah they gave me 2 and charged me 75 cents for each after. Dac's teases you though because they have a truckload of sauces but if you want to sample more than one, they 3 quarter you for each one after. There has to be better BBQ choices here than this Underwhelming and expensive experience.

5/5 Stars -- Beyond Amazing Food, Truly Unmatched Human Kindness!…read moreI cannot say enough good things about MISSION BBQ in Peoria. I am from out of town and live over two hours away. I found myself in the area because my daughter is currently at OSF Hospital. Walking in, I was already stressed, but the moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted by Travis Gilmore, the Area Director of Operations. When I mentioned it was my very first time visiting a MISSION BBQ, Travis went completely above and beyond. He immediately offered me samples of anything I wanted to try so I could find what I liked. But it didn't stop there. When he asked what brought me to town and I shared that my daughter was in the hospital, his genuine compassion blew me away. He insisted on putting together a free meal for me to take back to her at OSF, and he handed me a gift card along with a beautiful get-well card for her. The food itself is absolutely incredible--tender, perfectly smoked meats and delicious sides--but the heart and humanity of the staff here are what makes it a world-class establishment. Travis turned a stressful day into a deeply comforting experience. They don't just serve great food; they truly care about people and the community. I will be a lifelong customer!
