The chicken took 10 minutes to serve. By the time it was done, my okra and macaroni was cold.
Bailey M.

The two girls working were very rude and had an attitude when I told them I wanted a certain chicken order. Had to wait 15 minutes for my food while everyone else ate. Other than rude employees, the place was cozy.

Mediocre food and no smiles given.

The sides are just ok. The ribs and turkey are really good. There is lots of parking if you have a RV or trailer . I would eat here again

I'm amazed they are still in business . It's ok at best. It doesn't satisfy a BBQ craving.

Food is way above average, but service is non-existent and the prices are out of control.

Wife and I decided to take a road trip on a lazy Sunday. We got on I-40 and headed west from Yukon…read more On our way to nowhere in particular, she says to find a place to eat in Weatherford. I'm from a really small town out west, so Weatherford was well known to me as my three kids were all born there. Granted, my youngest is now 21, so it's been a minute since I've been there. I turned to Yelp, per usual, to help me find a place. Y'all. This place is INSIDE A GAS STATION. I didn't know that. What I DID know was Yelpers were saying this place was great. After a tiny bit of coaxing to my wife, we agreed to give this place a shot. And WOW, are we glad we did!!! First thing, when we entered, we were greeted by several voices calling out variations of "welcome". We walked to the register, peered up at the menu, and placed our orders. We both got the sliced brisket sandwich basket and drinks. They took our money, circled our order number while telling us they would call it out, and sent us toward the utensils and fountain drink machine. They have flavorings at the drink machine!! I typically only drink water all day errday, but I saw cherry flavoring and lemonade?! Yasss!!! The place was pretty noisy. To be fair, we were there on a Sunday afternoon, around 1pm. About 80% of the tables were filled. I'm definitely not faulting them for that! It was busy and it is a gas station, so there were people constantly in and out. It didn't take too long for our food, probably 15 minutes. I didn't expect much, even after reading all the reviews, so I literally said, "What?!", when we got our food. I was too excited, that I immediately grabbed a few of the hand-cut fries and stuffed them in my face hole. W.O.W. They were perfection. [I squirted ketchup all over them, (because I'm a savage), before I got a pic, so sorry about that!] The brisket was the most tender meat I've ever eaten. Seriously. The buns had those crispy grill marks on them, which only made the sandwich that much better in my opinion. There was so much flavor in the meat that it didn't need sauce, but I'm a sauce kinda gal, so I had to. Let me say this again: the brisket did NOT need sauce. I typically only review on Yelp, but I was so impressed with this place, that I left reviews on Facebook and on my Instagram! If you find yourself in Weatherford, check this place out! We are planning to make the drive just to eat here again. That's how much we both loved this food!

Not antiquated by any means, but preserved, from the decor on the walls, to the relish bar full of tasty bits to add to your meal. The little pickle spears are my favorite and a must-have every time I'm there. When I eat at other barbecue restaurants, all get measured up to The Barbecue Shed, and not many meet or pass the bar. This isn't Texas barbecue, where you get cold, picnic style sides. This is Oklahoma barbecue, with plenty of delicious fried options like fries, Okra, and corn nuggets. They have a tasty peach cobbler for the desert lovers as well to compliment their hot sides. Their menu hasn't changed much over the course of time, but why fix what isn't broken? Their ribs are some of the best I've ever had, their brisket is flavorful and lean. I prefer a fattier cut of brisket, but most everyone I know loves leaner brisket, and theirs does not disappoint at all. They serve Kitty's chicken as well, and are always rotating new and interesting specials for their patrons to try out. I go for the ribs. Hands down. Every single time for the better part of the last 25 years. Partnered with Fried okra and their seasoned fries, it's a perfect match and the finest example of local barbecue fare. The Barbecue Shed is a time machine in a way. It harkens back lots of nostalgia for not only locals, but travelers who appreciate a classic eatery while also serving up great meals. I would highly recommend giving them a shot if you never have. It may not be for everyone, but dont let the Negative Nancy's dissuade you. It is my favorite restaurant in town, and there's a high chance you'll be impressed as well.

Have been coming here for years and I love it! The quality of the food has never declined.read more
