The one thing I look for in a place to stay is what do people say. It was an awesome stay for 4 days; without hurting the budget, they got the most friendly staff, amazing experience and accessibility, right there in the center of everything.

This is a very good hotel located South of Ft Santiago and Binondo (oldest Chinatown in the world),…read moreand North of the Mall of Asia. Strategically, it's a great place to stay. There are some pockets of poverty--but that's Manila. It's a fact of life there. If anyone wants to be oblivious to poverty in Manila, stay at the Hilton; it's connected to Newport Mall with everything you need and you never have to leave that hotel. From New Coast, Robinsons Mall, McDonalds, Jollybees and Dunkin Donuts are all walking distance. There were live bands performing outdoors (with Filipino street food) during Laviefest 2025 in November. The hotel service was beyond outstanding. If we needed towels, they showed up. Room service showed up whenever we wanted and the food was delicious. They made the rooms very well and even folded our clothes. The hotel provided exceptional laundry service. They even provided a hair dryer when my wife's went bad. My only critique was the renovations that were occurring during our stay. It was an eye sore and resulted in some degradation in services (e.g., swimming pool). The rooms were nice and comfortable. I would stay at New Coast again, but only after renovations are complete. Do I recommend this place? Yes!!

We checked out the lounge cafe near the lobby and had some drinks and snacks. The cappuccino was great! The room we stayed in was very spacious. It took us a minute to figure out how the lights worked but eventually we got it. The hotel room had some features that made it seem old and a little run down. The carpet had some areas that were peeling and stained. The furniture looked a little worn. The bathroom was really nice though! This area of Manila was very congested and felt unsafe. There is constant traffic, the sidewalks are almost non-existent, and there is a lot of noticeable poverty and homelessness. I would not necessarily recommend staying in this area.

This is a solid 4 star hotel choice in the Manila Bay/Malate area. It is a 30+ year old property…read morethat is showing its age and is luckily undergoing a renovation this year I was told. Even without the updating, I am having a great stay here as I write this. This brand is not affiliated with any of the global behemoths so there are no loyalty member club perks to be had here. But it seems to be the choice for many of the affluent locals who staycation here or hold parties and wedding functions for its proximity to the Robinson's Mall and surrounding nightlife and bay walk areas. The service here is the star. All staff I encountered were polite and helpful. The rooms and public spaces were clean, comfortable and had many luxury touches if but a bit dated. As an example, there were 6 elevators to service the tower which is great. But they are not synchronized through a single call button so you must push buttons on both sides of the elevator banks to ensure that you are calling all of them simultaneously. There is also signage that prominently displays that the elevators are equipped with an "emergency landing device". WTF is that for?!? After having to sync my own elevator request through multiple buttons, seeing that signage was not exactly confidence inspiring. However, I have had no elevator safety issues and they are set to renovate the elevators later this year. I'm guessing that after that, the idiosyncracies I just described will be a thing of the past. The Exec Club and rooms were also clean, comfortable and dated to look like modern '80s decor. WiFi was plenty fast for road warrior workers. Food and beverage offerings were varied and of good quality. Maybe not over the top quality but totally met my needs. If you need an Exec Club in this area, this is currently the only 4-5 star hotel in this area with one (the Sheraton and the New World hotels next door do not offer them). I would be happy to stay here again on a future visit if in this area of Manila. For sure there are nicer hotels in Manila more representative of true 5 star properties (all are well away from this area) but this one is not too far below those for PI standards. You can definitely do worse in this area, but not much better.

Table seating was comfortable and alcohol was available at cost. The restaurant was located within a large and classy lobby area. It was also interesting that the 2 gift shops in this area only sold diamond-based jewelry.

This hotel balances on both sides of 4 and 5 for me. The only thing that knocks it a little is that…read moreit can be a little chaotic arriving since it's connected to Ocean Park. When staying here, they do give you tickets to Ocean Park so that's nice. When arriving at a place to stay, you usually expect a peaceful entrance. The main entrance is for a cafe, restaurants inside, the hotel, and Ocean Park. So it's noisy. Luckily, once you make it up to the hotel floor, it's peaceful. The room is also peaceful. We didn't hear anyone else in the hallways throughout our stay. We plan to explore more of Manila the next time. For the things we were doing on this visit, Hotel H20 served as the perfect launch point. When arriving in Manila by bus, we caught a trike to Rizal Park where we spent the afternoon. Various other things were close by so it worked for later in the day and when we woke up to leave the next day. With the infamous Manila traffic, I think it's best to try to stay close to what you have planned. It's not necessarily a headache catching a trike or jeepney because they're everywhere but it might save you on travel logistics and money. Grab(the Uber of the Philippines) is great to use but I almost feel terrible calling one in Manila. When a 10-minute ride turns into 30 minutes(because of traffic), driving for Grab in the Philippines has to be a nightmare. On to the hotel. It's certainly nice. You can choose from a room with aquarium walls or you can select a room that has 2 huge windows in the living area and bedroom. You're right above the ocean and overlook the bay. We chose the bay view. Great views and it was fun to watch the coastguard, ships, and the rowing team practice. I'll admit, for our length of stay, we probably didn't need a room quite this big but it was comfy. Our room was spacious and relaxing. The room service(food) was also good. I wouldn't worry too much about finding an outside food place(if you're tired). The meal we had for 900 php(18 usd) was well worth it. One other knock was the jacuzzi. The shower was perfect. We planned to use the jacuzzi until we noticed little pieces floating in the water. It looked to be debris that had collected on the jets or something. Probably harmless but enough to give us the ooga boogas and not use it. I mentioned the Ocean Park tickets you get with your stay but that's not all. They also have a gym and pool. You also can choose between a fish spa and/or some other relaxing thing(I think it was something sauna-related). The fish spa would've been nice but unfortunately, we didn't get to do it. Time didn't permit this time around. The hotel also has plenty of common areas. If I was spending a week there, all that space would've been love. If you have plans on that side of the city, stay here. It has all the amenities that you'd expect from a hotel in the west. And I like the name. On a side note... this might be a good spot to stay if you have an early morning flight out of the Manila airport.

The hotel which is in the capital old city Manila and by the Manila Bay is strategically located to view the sunset, access to nearby local restaurants and other sightseeing places such as Fort Santiago, the National Museum, Spanish era University of Santo Tomas, and some casinos. The executive room we got is modernand huge with motorized/hidden TV, curtains, window benches... I'll say its a 4 star. Some of its smaller rooms has one side of the room as aquarium. Kinda cool but I prefer my sunset/sunrise view. The hotel is within the water theme park and aquairum,. Theres a decent amount of of restaurants with the park though I think they can improve by adding more. We have tried the low priced breakfast buffet and you get what you pay for... nothing too fancy like a 5 star buffet, this I will give a 3 star. The kids and the kid-at-heart had fun in the water park. The kids also watched a sea animal show. And, they had fun. The aquarium is another attraction that my kids, nieces and nephews enjoyed. My lovely sisters made all of this memorable experience possible and I truly appreciate it. I wish and pray for a ten fold return on their generosity and kindness.

Made up of five reconstructed Spanish colonial era buildings, it reminds me of the shopping area around Mexico City's Zocalo, although on a much smaller scale. We walked around Plaza San Luis a couple of times during my trip to Manila, both to absorb the ambiance and to get lunch at Barbara's and shop for souvenirs. I didn't love the restaurant, but the plaza was lovely. There was a stone courtyard with an old fountain that was particularly attractive. If you're visiting Intramuros, make sure you drop by the Plaza San Luis Complex. I don't know about all the individual businesses, but the area is quite pretty.

I was lucky that someone was nice enough to take me here, as I am pretty sure I wouldn't have come across this place on my own. Plaza San Luis is a great representation of Spanish colonial architecture that luckily has survived and has been revived into a well-maintained establishment that houses smaller stores, a restaurant, and a museum. Those establishments do deserve reviews on their own, so I would really, really love to talk about how beautiful this courtyard is. It's amazing how this place has retained so much of its old-world feel, with all the plants, the fountain, the stone walls and floors--it's all in the details. It's no wonder that this place is now being offered as an events place that can be rented for special occasions. You can actually do a bit of exploring. You must go up the staircase and see the majestic view of the whole courtyard from the top. It's really beautiful. I really do hope that this place remains well-maintained and taken cared of. It's a gem of a destination that our history and culture cannot afford to lose.
