I have been meeting with Dr. Fersan for my pregnancy and I've seen negative reviews about him, but I can't disagree more. He's honest and straight to the point - which I can see why some people may not appreciate that but I think there's a level of over sensitivity that is not something any doctor can control. I've had a history of very traumatic experiences both with OBs and personal life experiences and he went above and beyond to let me know that everything that happens is up to me at my pace - I had an issue (near miss) with gestational diabetes and I appreciated the frank, straightforward dialogue - I was eating terribly (too much candy and indulgence) and it was the wake up call I needed. I also was wrong about my appointment time once, by an hour and he still took the time to see me. My husband had reservations about me having a male OB but after my discussions with Dr. Fersan and meeting him, he agreed that he's a great doctor. I have a cesarean scheduled for Monday because I had a very bad experience with my firstborn and he's been very helpful and attentive to any of my questions. It seems like women expect a female OB pretty consistently but in my experience if you go in with an open mind you're better off. I also see people complaining about the staff - they all seem lovely and I wait no longer than 5 minutes in the waiting room. Idk maybe people are reviewing a different office? read more

I went in for my first Pap smear today and I had Danielle as my provider she was super nice and the wait time wasn't bad at all. My medical assistant's name was Haley and she took really good care of me too. She got my weight and my blood pressure then told me Danielle would be right in but Haley asked if it was okay if Danielle's intern came in the room with her and did some of my care. I said " it doesn't matter to me" so Haley stepped out of the room and two seconds later the door opened and in walked Danielle with her intern Dena I'm pretty sure her name was. Dena was so nice she asked me a few questions listened to my heart and lungs and explained the plan for my procedure as well as letting me see the tools she would be using having her explain everything and show me her tools really helped me relax. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be it just hurt for a second when she tried putting the speculum in but once she used the brush it felt a lot better. This place has did a 360 in a negative way. Nobody was at the front desk for about 10 minutes so I just sat there until I eventually found someone in the check out area and she even said " nobody is over there yet?". Now that's a shame. Anyway, the reception people still seem like they could careless that you're there. That was an issue years ago, and is still a serious issue. Okay, here's another thing. My OB-GYN retired so I requested to be seen by another female, and ONLY female. I had an apt the other day, I asked for a female WAY BEFORE MY APT. I specifically said female! The assistant said okay " he will be with you shortly" EXCUSE ME! How many times do I have to request a female! So here I was annoyed, wasn't listened to and yet again triggered. Dr. Fersan didn't seem to care about my condition, as my midwife was concerned about It. He told me like someone else said in a previous review he didn't want to even bother doing surgery because it would be pointless. Mind you I've had this same issue for 10+ years, and the last OB-GYN at this practice knew this so this was recorded in my documents. AND my midwife who sent the referral over ALSO said what she suspected by test results what was going on. I am shocked that someone with such high credibility in the issue that I have would tell me not to even bother looking into it and just assume I have it. Unacceptable and absurd. I would write a zero-star review if I could. Incompetent service and lack of empathy. Go anywhere else. When they made a mistake in my IUD placement which was expensive to fix, they charged me for fixing their error and told me that the fix was "optional" even though I was in extreme pain. I have had 3 IUDs before so I know what it's normally supposed to feel like. They told me they had "placed it correctly" even though I was deeply in pain. If you read the other reviews, you will see that this office ignores what women say about their own bodies. Go elsewhere if you want healthcare practitioners who will treat you with respect and empathy. read more

Not all providers here will place an IUD. They are not forthcoming on that and will suggest an IUD, but omit that they will not place it. When you call to make the appointment, as the provider tells you to do, staff will not disclose why they won't place, citing "speak to the doctor" and suggest another provider. Unacceptable. I've been going here since I was a teenager and it's always been a great experience. Dr Sullivan is so nice and answers all my questions every visit. The staff is always kind and friendly. I especially loved coming here when I was pregnant because they were very thorough with screening and testing. They always took good care of me. Love this office! read more

I was a patient here for 8 years, but had a bad experience this past year with my first pregnancy and have since gone elsewhere. This practice is too busy to properly care for their patients. I only saw the doctor that I had been seeing for 8 years twice during the whole pregnancy, and instead was bounced around other doctors. I was told this wasn't a bad thing since anyone might be at the hospital to deliver my baby.. well, that was a big joke because I was induced at 37 weeks and spent 6 days in the hospital, NEVER seeing a single person from Bayside. 6 days and no-one checked in. The only thing I got was a "why are you missing your weekly appointment?" phone call 3 days after they sent me in to be induced. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. read more

Do not go here otherwise you are wasting your time. Dr. Fersan was very rude and obviously didn't want to help me since he doesn't want to take my endometriosis seriously and told me i was wasting my time with surgery if i wanted to find out how much of the tissue i have in my stomach, and said to take hormones which i have been basically doing since i was 16 and has not helped since now i am 21 and still dealing with these issues. doctors don't take endometriosis seriously and it's exhausting. All they want to do is mask the problems or tell you there's nothing wrong with you when you know your body in and out and you know something is wrong. Zero stars. I've been a part of this practice for years and have seen it gone even more down hill as doctors have come and gone. I have had 2 new obgyns in the past 2 years. Problems I have had with them billing issues, not telling me about test results (for over a year), drug testing me without my knowledge, and not giving me the option to have a 13 week NT routine ultrasound. I have left this practice and billing issues are still an issue. read more

Old ob-gym retired and transferred all records to this practice. Made appts twice with Dr. Caroline Skudlarek and both cancelled via post mail. No calls to try to reschedule with you and then they won't have any appts available for 1-2 months if you call them. Also, trying to get any cancelled slots sooner due to your own cancelled spot is not available to any new patients. Stay away from this one. read more

I am not sure about how the doctor is, because I was not able to get that far due to the appointment making process. I emailed them to ensure they take my insurance. In email, I was told they did and to go ahead and make an appointment. Upon calling, I was told that they "weren't sure" if they took it. I made a reference to he email and was still directed to contact my insurance company. I asked if I could make an appointment during this phone call, and then verify with my insurance that I would be covered, and they would not make an appointment. To me, this is poor customer service and the staff clearly needs to get on the same page. read more

Very disappointed with the office in East Greenwich. The people there are very unprofessional and gave me the run around. They told me to do several procedures prior to being accepted at their office. I did the procedures, brought them the information and they turn me away. A lot of time, work and running around on my end to end up with being rejected by a nurse. The receptionist had no information for me and could not help at all. Wish I never went here! read more

I see dr. Sullivan and she is very good. She is caring, thorough, runs very close to on time. The staff seems very professional. I have also had a better experience getting test results from the nursing staff here than I have anywhere else. They are very caring and they seem to understand how nervous patients can be about their health. Also, parking is easy though it can be a little tricky to find the building your first time so allow yourself a few minutes to circle. I have recommended the practice to several friends and I recommend it to you too! read more

Love this office! Make sure to make an appointment time where you won't wait I.e in the middle of the day. Dr Maddock is the best and really card about his patients. I also had the pleasure of him delivering my baby and he was very kind just the person you want with you in the delivery room. As far as your annual visit it can be tedious and a little embarrassing but he does his job because he enjoys it and is completely flawless. read more

I moved back to RI, and now with pregnancy #2 needed to find a new office. This one had good reviews , when it came to the doctors. I find this to be true, the only thing I have to say and I did see it on other rating sites is the appointment situation. For my first visit they schedule 2 appt. a week apart and BOTH where changed days before the visit.. If you are not able to be flexible with their reschedules it could be a problem. ** I need evening appt. and they are the only office offering it :( read more

I love the doctors here but the practice needs improvement. I was discharged from my c section on a Sunday and the doc on call for Bayside would not consent for my Oxy perscription. So I'm at CVS after being discharged with a 3 day old baby after having a c section unable to get my meds. I've never been such a basket case. My husband ended up calling the warm line at women and infants and those angels sorted it out. But Dr Maddock is the best and makes the sketchy practice worth going to. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. B for almost 30 years. I love her but the staff leaves a lot to be desired. They make me feel as though I'm not important and they really don't care about their patients. I saw the Doctor in January for lower abdominal pain. She promptly sent me for an US. The US people told me the doctor would have my results in 24 hours. I did not get results from the doctor's office until 4 weeks later and they told me there were issues that needed further testing and that they were going to have to call my insurance company to see where I could have these tests done and they'd call me back. It is now two weeks later and I cannot seem to get this scheduled because no one calls me back like they said they would. I called and got a nurse once who told me they'd have to call me back and now I just get voicemail. I still have constant pain every day. We are talking about health care here and they are okay with letting things like pain and an issue which could be serious just go on. I feel this is unacceptable and the staff is providing very poor customer service. Now that I'm older I'm thinking I need to find another office that will be able to provide me with more adequate care. Patients with issues should not be left hanging. It's now almost 2 months since I saw my doctor and I'm going to have to start all over with someone else because I'm getting nowhere and I'm not even sure if my pain is due to the issues they found or something else because I have only spoken to a nurse and not my doctor and I have been unable to move on with the further testing I need due to the inadequacies of the office staff. I'm not sure where to turn at this point and it makes me very sad that I'm going to have to leave a doctor that I love and have been with for years through so much because of issues with her staff. read more
