Bayside Marina is like one of the top spots in queens to take your family.. Great service, food, drinks and views... Awesome fishing you can do off the dock or a rented boat.. As far as the parking situation, just like 99% of businesses with their own parking lots, the marina has a towing company making sure the only cars parked in their lot belong to the members that dock their boats there all season long or to people that rented a boat for the day. You can't walk out of the lot down the bike trail or walk down the dock without passing at least 5 signs that tell you the parking regulations. There are options when it comes to parking your car if you're just there to take a walk or a ride on your bike.. There's a convenient bridge that you can cross after you park your car on the public street on the other side of the cross island expressway. So if you get towed don't blame the tow truck driver and definitely don't blame the marina. Avoid getting towed by following the rules, just like you avoid getting speeding tickets by not speeding, and enjoy your day at one of the most beautiful locations in New York City... read more

Nice place to have your car towed and have to pay about $300 to get it back because the owner REFUSES to post readable no parking signs. There are lookouts watching and as soon as you aren't looking a tow truck waiting around the corner magically appears and is pulling your car away. I feel sure the marina owner is getting a nice kickback and should be able to well afford to have his parking places fenced in and give the boat owners allowed to park there a key. Even more shameful is not posting the signs in other languages because many visitors from other countries as well as locals are lured into the Marina's parking scam. It is horrible to see so many families with little kids and other visitors having their day ruined by this shameful scam!! And please note there is a sign indicating a public park area before the BAYSIDE marina which is quite misleading. Also, this towing scam is causing a safety issue because the tow truck driver is allowed to use the pedestrian walking , bicycle path to tow your car away so watch out! read more

Time to walk off all the food us yelpers eat!! I'd give this place 4 stars because its MY favorite walking spot (can't comment on the boating stuff) and I usually walk here at night with someone when it's not too crowded. I really don't like walking in the dirt, I hate bugs, not a fan of dogs running around either, and I'm too scared to walk in a area that's quiet/dark after watching all those murder shows. The Bayside Marina takes care of those issues for me. I like it better than cunningham, kissena, flushing meadows, crocheron, or the nearby fort totten. Yea I know its by the cross island expressway but it feels cooler here in the summer then at other parks and the summer is about keeping cool isn't it? read more

"Your car will be towed as soon as you walk on the dock!" It happened on me too. The only way to get your car back is to pay them cash ($272 for me) and wait! I asked my friend drive me to they office and guess what? My car wasn't there! That "office" is just a cover-up! They refuse to tell you where is the real location and refuse to let you follow them to pick up your car. (oh! Actually they do let you pick up your car. But on another day. Walk home by your feet!) They have cameras on the dock and contracts with the shop manager. Yes, they are co-operators. This terrible experience happened on my wife's goodbye party before leaving new york city. Whille the view looks nice BE CAREFUL if you go to the Bayside Marina. My husband and I went on a lovely summer day to relax and ended up GETTING OUR CAR TOWED for over $200. Some way to relax! Not a nice way to treat people. There are tiny warning signs that a permit is needed to park there. You would never see them. Many cars were being towed and people were very angry so it was a bad scene to get our car back. The whole day was ruined and when I called the towing company the guy who answered was laughing about it. Park somewhere else or do not visit this spot. The view is simply not worth $204. The owner should ask people if they saw the sign or to please move your car but they obvously want the money. DO NOT PATRONIZE the Bayside Marina. read more

I come here just about every weekend to hang out with friends, grab a quick bite and go fishing. As for the food I recommend the chicken wings, mozz sticks, clams and chicken wrap. They also serve breakfast for all you early birds. As for the people who are complaining about the parking, there are plenty of signs in the parking lot stating times you can't park without a permit. Just follow the signs and you won't get towed. It's that simple. Going back to the marina...it's a great place to grab a bite to eat, have a beer, relax, fish, go on a boat rental and enjoy the sunset. read more

I stopped at the Bayside Marina during a bike ride on the path along the parkway. Great spot to stop & grab a drink from their concession stand and rest for a bit. Excellent atmosphere and staff was very friendly. read more

This place is gorgeous however they need to take in account those that pass by that just want to stop quick and enjoy the view. Maybe a 30min-1hr spots. Such a shame. They look like sticklers to their parking passes needed rule. read more

Yes this place is a nice place to run/job/bike and whatnot, however like other reviews, I too experienced a pretty nasty towing violation. I guess i missed the "20" signs that said not to park without a permit and that may have been a fault of mine, but the real surprise was the exorbitant amount charged for the permit parking violation. Initially the person who was towing my car charged me an upwards $350.00 but said he'd give me an "employee discount" and bring it down to $272.00. Later when I called the towing company about the charges, an employee named "John" said $272.00 was the correct amount that should have been charged. So, hearing that shows that the towing man was a dishonest employee about charging expenses in hopes to tricking the patron. Isn't that against the law? Well if you want to find out more about this shady towing company, here's their number (718) 739-3002. If you're reading this yelp review, it might be too late, because had I heard about this practice at the Bayside Marina, I don't think I would have ever gone. Two hundred and seventy two dollars, for parking without a permit for 15 minutes. It's not a city ticket, so you can't dispute it in court. Might as well call the Better Business Bureau. read more

I when down to find out about club member pricing for the marina members and with 4 minutes I get my car towed!! 123 auto shop & towing is the a scam the guy took 200$ cash from me and that's illegal after me calling 311 to report the accident, 311 told me the max the could charger is 125$ because I got there before that the guy drove off with my car! Don't waste your time here and definitely Don't rent a boat from here. If you get out of your car for 5 minutes To walk down the dock To inquire about renting a boat they two your car and it cost $200 to get it back! They hire a private towing company to tow your car. They bring it up the road and then bring your car to you on bell blvd. the towing company claims they work out of Jamacia but most of the time they drive you in the two truck to get your car about 2 minutes away. They make so much money on this and I'm Sure the marina gets revenue too. In a matter of 20 minutes I saw 3 cars get towed. The car next to me had a 1 day parking permit and by the time I inquired about that my car was towed. The marina would do nothing. There are many more marinas that are much nicer that you can go to. The ones on Long Island offer free parking so go there! Not worth the risk of payin $200 to see a body of water you can see from Long Island. Never ever rent a boat from here! read more

Avoid the Bayside Marina. They are thieves! I went to the Bayside Marina to find out about boat rentals for the holiday weekend. In the 10 minutes it took to walk to the end of the pier, ask about the rentals, and order a hamburger, my car was towed. The marina has made a deal with a local tow company to steal money from visitors who stop by to inquire about rentals or buy snacks. I was there literally 8 minutes before my car was towed. Two other cars were towed as I stood there calling the tow truck company to return my car. I paid a $196. ransom to get my car back. When I spoke to the manager of the marina, he told me that they posted signs that you can not park without a permit. However I explained that only some of the parking spaces are marked, others are not. And since they offer rentals and a snack bar, it appears that they are open to business to visitors to the marina. It is a scam, and I was told by several of the permit holders that dock their boats there that the marina is a rip off and makes money on every car towed. Stay away and do not park your car there for any reason. The tow trucks sit and wait for unsuspecting visitors. read more

Nice place. Parking and towing are a scam. I had the same experience as another poster, and I also had tow truck operator I.K. who also claimed that his machine's battery didn't work and that I had to pay cash or wait for an hour for another tow operator who had a working credit card machine. This is crap - oh, and the sign in the parking lot says, specifically, that towing is $125. This is a lie. You get charged $125 for towing EACH way - from the lot, and then to have your car returned. Sorry, Bayside Marina, this is extortion, and we both know that there are people who are on the take - the marina, the towing company/operator, etc. Don't tell me that towing costs the Marina money. And, chances are that the car is merely parked in the street close to the C.I.P. near Bell Blvd. If you walk around, you'd probably find your car and could drive it away. Might be a good idea if people started doing this. Remember, too, folk - if a tow truck deposits your car into an illegal parking space somewhere else, you're liable for additional tickets. Signs, or not, this is a scam and the public needs to be fully informed of this, and boycott the marina. If anyone has connections with local newspapers or TV stations, this is perfect for a Consumer segment. read more

For the most part, my family had a lovely day at the Marina. The waterfront was beautiful and we enjoyed our time on the pier. Unfortunately our family time was ruined when we heard our car alarm going off and saw our car lifted on a tow truck. My husband was in shock and my daughter began crying. I read several more obvious signs at the Marina regarding rules for kayaks, etc. Unfortunately, even as a seasoned New Yorker, who checks posted parking rules all the time, I missed the sign regarding parking permits. For some people the signs might seem obvious, but I have never been to public parks or trails in New York City with private parking, and those of us with children might be a bit distracted when arriving at the park. We saw another family with several small children who unfortunately arrived at the parking lot after their car was taken. As my husband was paying off the tow truck driver to allow us to keep our car, several other visitors came over to ask about the parking. Obviously, they also didn't notice the signs. We came to enjoy a day on public trails and could never expect that private parking would be adjacent to them. With so many people fooled each day, one has to wonder if the public is being intentionally misled for profit. read more
