A staff member welcomed me in and asked how they could help. I told her and she asked me what my budget was and played with the recipe of stems, seasonal blooms, and greens to give me the most value for my dollar and created a custom flower arrangement. The staff member was courteous and offered professional service. In addition, she asked what color I wanted the bouquet wrapping paper and ribbon to be and if I wanted to write a message. FYI this business is under new management and a lot of the phone number has changed. I HIGHLY recommend their beginner's floral arrangement class. It's $75 and lasts around 1 hour, and you get to walk away with a beautiful bouquet that alone probably retails around $75. The instructor/manager (Andrew) and the owner (Vivi) were very friendly and knowledgeable about flowers, and it was such a fun and informative experience. Can't recommend it enough. My mom loved her birthday bouquet. Also, just found out that the reason why this business has subpar reviews is mainly because Yelp is penalizing them for not paying a "Yelp fee", which is pretty messed up to do to a small business. Walked in for mother day flowers for my Mom and Grandma. I got one small and one larger medium bouquet for around $100 total. I thought it was extremely reasonably priced compared to what other places were charging (another place quoted me a considerable amount more) and considering the amount of flowers and the quality. These look even fuller and prettier in person. I recommend going in to order. The girl who did my bouquet was so sweet and attentive, she was patient with me wanting to customize and when i changed my mind. I placed order in store for valentine's day, and made sure they would deliver it on time several time. I understood the day would be very busy for them but they failed the mission badly. They couldn't deliver it on time and postpone (maybe made another new one) and delivered in the late evening. However, I paid $100 and asked the staff to add more flowers for my original $56 one. Plus a $20 delivery fee.... $24 more bucks just gave me two more flowers, yes! Literally one more rose and one more cheep flower... I took picture and send to them.. they said they were pretty busy and felt sorry to refund me $20 . Not only are flowers completely different, but the flowers that we got are cheaper than what we ordered. There was no update on this change and when we reached out about it, the lady who picked up the phone was rude and condescending. I understand that we are in a world pandemic. I ordered flowers and presents to be delivered at 10:30am and paid really big money! I only gave one star because yelp made me. I was browsing the neighborhood and I walked past the floral shop. I saw some Plants on sale and wanted to see what else they had to offer. I walk in and the owners back is toward me so I say "HELLO" so that he knows I'm there. Plus I didn't want to startle him. He nods back and does or say nothing else. I'm browsing browsing browsing still nothing!!! No "how can I help you?" No " are you shopping for anything specific NOTHING! I continue browsing awkwardly. At this point my back is facing him, when I turn around I notice he has a worker or an assistant in the building .... well, his assistant said nothing to me never offered help or anything they just stared as I browsed NOW IM ANNOYED .... I went to Bayside Florists yesterday to place a delivery order for my co worker who was having surgery done. There were two young lady's at the counter. One came over and assisted me with placeing a Get Well Soon Flower Delivery order. She informed me that there's a minimum purchase of $50 for delivery, and the delivery fee is $14. I places my order and before paying , I asked if there was a surcharge for the use f a credit card, and she said there is but if I pay with cash, she'll waive the tax. I paid with cash instead. Today, my co worker received her flower order as planned. She said it was the most beautiful bouquet, and they smelled so wonderful. Ordered Valentine's Day flowers for my mother through this company, they insured me they will be delivered on time. Emailed me on the holiday at 4 pm telling me they would be unable to deliver them for that day and again insured me that they would be delivered the following day. Now 2 days later, I give them a call, explaining the situation and they tell me they decided to cancel the order without my knowledge. After explaining the situation to the aggressive woman on the phone, she provides me with no apology or good explanation of why the order would have been canceled but that I should "ask the man I spoke with why." I told her that these mothers were for my mother and she then said her "mother is dead." Then hung up the phone. TERRIBLE customer service, unreliable, just overall bad vibes. I found the staff to be discourteous. I received no greeting, no thanks, no goodbye. I haven't bought too many flowers in my life, but the flowers were pretty expensive. I bought my flowers in-store and walked out with them, and the roses are $4 each with no special pricing per dozen. Thus, I paid $48 for a dozen roses. They were nice roses (nice colors, fragrant), but I know I can pick-up flowers that are just as nice from local competitors at a much lower cost. If the difference was only a few bucks I wouldn't be so turned off, but with other options just as convenient and more affordable, I'll probably not come back soon. read more

I used this florist for the first time because it was a local delivery. I selected a get well bouquet made up of three types of flowers. I checked with the recipient a few days later who told me that although the bouquet was pretty, the white roses were not fresh. The petals started to fall off starting the next day. I have ordered from other florists whereby their roses don't wilt by the day after delivery. This person has an air conditioned house, made sure there was water in the vase and added the flower supplement but nothing helped. Certainly, we were both disappointed. read more

The man behind the counter wasn't very friendly or informative. Then, as soon as we said we need flowers for a wedding and we're looking to make it as inexpensive as possible, he said: "we don't have cheap flowers. You want cheap flowers, you have to go someplace else." So we did. And we hope you will too. Just nasty! I should have expected that from a business with so many caged birds. I got Married on 2/14/2009 and after we booked the majority of our vendors my Fiance and realized that flowers would be too expensive so I ended up doing the majority of the flowers for the wedding myself. As any bride I really wanted my Bouquet professionally done along with the boutonnieres...so long story short the florist (the really skinny guy with the glasses, I don't care to remember his name) talked me into booking with him and promised a beautiful job and described such a pretty bouquet to me. I specifically told him I DO NOT WANT ANY BABIES-BREATH!! He said no problem, we paid $165.00 and left. The day of the wedding my fiancé went to pick up the flowers at around 9:30am and no one was aware of a wedding order. My fiancé told them he would be back in 20 min. The florist threw together 12 closed red roses (I was promised 16 opened red roses) and a TON of BABIES-BREATH (I was promised white waxed cherries interlaced between the open roses!!) they tied the whole thing together with white paper ribbon and shiny scotch tape, all the way around the stems!!! As you can imagine, I was very anxious on that day and when my flowers arrived I wanted to cry!! My maid of honor called and told them it was wrong and that we are sending someone with the bouquet to be fixed. Being that they were in the wrong, you would think they would correct the mistake, BUT NO! They completely disrespected my bridesmaid in the store, kicked her out and told her to leave and that they were too busy!! They actually used profane language!!! My bridesmaid begged them to fix it some how and they just continued to curse and tell her to get out!! It was not until she said she would be sure to write a bad review they actually tried to fix the crappy bouquet. All they did was rip out the babies-breath shoved some more closed roses and red cherries in and sent her on her way. At the end I had to fix and redo my bouquet while in my wedding dress in front of my bridal party, photographer, and videographer. And BTW the boutonnières rose heads broke off before the ceremony; thank God I made some of my own two nights before. My now husband and I went back to let them know how we felt and the owner didn't seem to care until I told him I would be writing a bad review. We never received an apology. Bad experience with getting flowers from this local business. Had flowers & chocolates sent to me by friend. I spoke with manager Greg after being called from my husband indicating that Bayside florist wanted to work with me on delivery options. Spoke with manager Greg and asked him to leave on front steps of house. He said he didnt want to do that becuase of the cold weather and the flowers were delicate. I understand that, but thats when the story goes south.. He kept pressing me for neigbors to leave flowers with. I advised that the neighbors work long hours like I do and NOT to leave them, I would even come by store to pick up What does he do?! - He delivers them and leaves them with a neighbor. When I asked him about it, he said his deliveryman had already left and he couldn't get in touh with him. - what deliveryman has no cell phone? Additionally, I told him no choc were received and I wanted the full order what was paid for. He said I guess forgot to send them. He was difficult to work with, the full order was not delivered and you should avoid this busniess as much as possible. He even lost my phone number and had to call my husband to get it again. I do not recommend getting flowers from this shop. My mom placed an order online for flowers to be delivered in Chicago. Bayside does not send the flowers from NY of course, but they contacted another flower shop in Chicago. About a week after the order was placed, my mom asked if I had received the flowers and of course I did not. I called the flower shop and left a VM. Then I called Bayside and was told the flower shop in Chicago had confirmed them delivery, which of course did not happen. The person I talked to from Bayside was polite. He apologized and said he would do an upgrade. I received the flower arrangement today but no upgrade. I received the exact arrangement my mom purchased. I don't think anyone should pay more than $50.00 for 12 red tulips. read more
