WORST hotel stay I have EVER had. I have stayed in multiple Marriott hotels around the US and have…read morenever had an experience as atrocious as this one. If I could give zero stars, that is what I'd prefer. The front desk attendant JACKSON clearly has no real hospitality experience and should not be someone who represents Marriott to customers, especially Bonvoy guests. The weekend manager communicated to my father, who coordinated the family's hotel stay and has been a Bonvoy member for 10+ years, that even though 4pm was typically the latest check-out time, she could make it 5pm so I would be able to complete my work day. Today, Monday, the weekend manager is not in and Jackson "claimed" he called her and she said she never promised anyone a 5pm check-out. JACKSON did the following: * Verbally LAUGHED at me and said "guess you can't get around it this time" and called me and my family liars. This is extremely upsetting because my father doesn't just go around lying to people. We are people of integrity and if we were told by the manager they couldn't do a 5pm check-out, we would have had no problem respecting that. * I experienced multiple interruptions from housekeeping who clearly had not been told that WE were told 5pm was perfectly fine, and each time, the housekeepers said they understood and would tell the front desk. At 4:26, JACKSON knocks on our door and says we have until 4:30 to leave or we will be charged for another night. * JACKSON also defended giving us 4 minutes to leave by saying that the housekeepers already told us to leave multiple times. He clearly doesn't understand that housekeepers aren't in charge of telling guests they have to leave and there must have been significant miscommunication if he thought that we were demanded by housekeeping to leave. No, they ONLY said they understood that we spoke to a manager and that they would tell the front desk. * On my way out the door, they ALL YELLED "HAVE A NICE DAY" and it is clear that they relish upsetting customers. I told him this is no way to handle customers and if I was in his position I would speak to people much differently. He then gets aggressive and raises his voice and hands saying "WELL IM NOT IN YOUR POSITION" which wasn't even what I was trying to say. I then asked why can't Marriott own the issue and admit there clearly was miscommunication, apologize to the customer, and then come to a resolution by considering what can be done next? Jackson and the housekeepers looked utterly clueless when I asked this. Has no one here worked in hospitality before? Not the look Marriott wants. Going to update this review once I hear back from the weekend manager. Additionally, the room I was in has dried orange vomit splashes on the wall where you'd pull toilet paper from. The room my parents were in was unbearable for me to stay in due to the strong smell of old smoke and cleaning product. I like the decor a lot: intimate, quaint, & charming. Their toasty lobby fireplace was a much needed treat. Such a great aesthetic. ROOM https://youtu.be/gZ17cRkdPRs Fresh, clean, & unbelievably aromatic. This Double had generous dimension & was decorated with amazing stock. The curated vibe was consistent from entrance to room, enhanced by the tranquil wall art. Strong on design & strong on function with sliding windows, ergonomic rolling chair, a large natural wood desk, and really good lighting. Beautiful. BED A comfortable double queen configuration. All the making of a great winter sleep experience: extra pillows with a good fill, polyester linens to preserve heat, & a Serta mattress Very restful. BATH Nice aesthetic and fixtures but embarrassingly thin towels; also on the smaller side Its a smaller space too but otherwise, this bathroom was a hit: Strong exhaust, crazy-good water pressure, contemporary washbasin & eye-catching backsplash along the vanity. The shower was a traditional combination alcove-- no frills. House brand toiletries are provided but BYOB for this one. TV & ENTERTAINMENT Dated. ~30" SD Panasonic TV. They didn't ask, just assumed. Again showed the app and the first reservation and proved we booked direct. She went and got the GM to reverse it. Frickin idiot! The breakfast is crap. Powder eggs, smoked sausage as a breakfast meat, empty fruit bowl, sweetened yogurt. Good sides are that the beds were clean (not the floors or the shower) the water pressure is great. At least the ice makers on the other floors weren't out of order. Don't trust GPS to get here. You have to look for it. New construction area. Upon arrival, I noticed that the lobby was super clean and cozy, and I was greeted by very kind people at the desk. The room I stayed in, with thanks to my friend for earning us a free upgrade to a junior suite, was HUGE -- the perfect size for the two of us to live, work, and relax for a few days. Everything was, again, super clean, and the layout was superb (a C-shape from entrance to the bedroom area). I appreciated housekeeping's fabulous work, and all staff members I encountered were amazing throughout my stay. For the final night of my stay, I had to switch rooms, as my friend's reservation only lasted until Saturday and I made my own reservation for one night. I checked out of the first room at around 10:30am, and I was greeted by a manager at the front desk who, instead of simply offering a place for me to store my luggage, hooked me up with a room on the spot. She was incredibly kind and friendly throughout the interaction, which I really appreciated (especially since she absolutely went out of her way to accommodate this request). The king room I stayed in for the last night was also superb! As for amenities, I only really took advantage of the snack pantry, which was stocked with all the essentials.
