Greg and his team did superb work on a very difficult, multi-faceted electrical rebuild that ended up being even more complicated that any of us realized. We needed to replace 55-year-old panels that had been put into our old house by an amateur and were very unsafe. This also entailed putting new lines in from our house to the electric pole down our mountain road and working with the power company to minimize our time without electricity. In addition we wanted to install a whole-house generator because we live up in the stormy North Cascade Mountains. Greg gave us a fair bid for all of this, and worked with us on the timing and scheduling. As soon as his team started the work, he realized that our wiring was a disorganized, unlabeled jumble of wires pushed into every nook and cranny of one wall of our garage - all obviously tinkered with by many people, including the amateur owner, over the 55-year life of the house. Greg and his team eventually discovered that all our switches were on a separate and even more disorganized low-voltage system, that also had to be completely redone. The past owner had been a tinkerer who put 3-6 switches in every room and hallway and not one of them was labeled. It was overwhelming to even look at! Greg and his team patiently worked through ALL of this, spending much more time than they originally expected, without complaint, until every single system was redone, replaced, organized and clearly labeled. We were exhausted just watching them go through all of this work, and I can't imagine how they had the persistence to do it themselves! Not only did they work through it all, but Greg is a perfectionist who checks, rechecks, and re-rechecks everything until he is certain that everything is exactly as it needs to be for safety, usability, and for the next time an electrician needs to work on our system. We now have a brand new, PERFECT electrical system that we know is safe and solid, with panels and a low-voltage system that are labeled and easy to use, with wires neatly organized and put into boxes where they belong, and with an automatic whole-house generator installed and ready for our next big storm. And, last but not least, unlike so many other electricians, Greg did not add any additional charges for all this extra work. He honored our original contract. We are so grateful to Greg and his team for cleaning up our disastrous electrical mess! We found Greg on Yelp and decided to go with him because he was listed as the top Generac expert in our area, but he will be our only electrician for any kind of electrical work from now on! My garbage disposal is operated by a vacuum switch in the countertop. The switch is powered by an outlet under the sink, and next to the outlet in the same fixture is a rocker switch that also controls the disposal. The other day the whole system stopped working. I checked the voltage at the receptacle: Zero. I tested for a GFCI tripping with no result. Other outlets and fixtures including the dishwasher were working just fine. Baffled, I called Bayless for advice and anticipated a costly service call. First, he had me go to the breaker, which I cycled. No result. He then had me turn on the switch and the vacuum switch at the same time. BINGO! So no need for a service call. Problem solved. read more

BAYLESS Electric's service for me truly qualifies as really bad, My advice is to stay away from this very unprofessional company. 1) Poor communication and follow through on making the appointment in the first place that took close to six months and several phone calls and reminders. 2)Unagreed elements of cost being included in a cost plus contract (significant drive time from off island location and hours of an apprentice on site without adequate supervision to complete the work). 3)Poor execution and inefficient work practices. They sent out an apprentice who was unable to execute the work without the journeyman. The journeyman arrived several hours late while the apprentice waited. 4)Poor communication in the administrative matters of getting questions answered regarding issues with billing. 5)Poor communication and sloppy billing procedures (no mailing address included on your bill) inability to pay by phone. They sent a workmen showing up unannounced to collect bills. I told him I refused until my billing questions were answered. The then asked me to deliver checks in person to job site where employees were working. I did this and the employees had left the job site. SO UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!!!!!!!! read more

When we moved into our house in April of this year, we discovered that our house is pretty much ALL-ELECTRIC! The heat, hot water heater, refrigerator, freezer, oven, and everything but our fireplace are all powered by PSE (Puget Sound Energy). When the electricity stops flowing here it will be a disaster. In fact, a few weeks before we arrived the power did go out here for a few hours. So, after we unpacked a million boxes, our first order of business was to find a standby generator - and someone to properly install it. But since the state of Texas JUST experienced a major power outage and a huge disaster because of it, we were sure it would take a year or more until we could have a generator installed at our house. And, he is a highly skilled professional electrician who is well-versed in the Island County, Washington building codes. And he and his crew are extremely easy to work with. And now my wife and I have an excellent, properly installed whole-house backup power generator that will protect us and our home when the power from PSE is interrupted. I used Bayless for a permitted upstairs "down to the studs" remodel (2 Bed, 1 Bath). Work involved removal of existing non-grounded wiring (house built in 1945) and install of new circuits pulled directly from panel. They worked extremely fast, rough-in done in one day. Came back when remodel work was done to do trim (outlets, switches, smoke/CO2s), again working extremely fast, finishing trim in a couple hours. Work also included installing a Nest thermostat and adding a new outdoor service outlet for the new upstairs ductless units. I recently had a Generac standby generator system installed. In retrospect I wish I'd selected Bayless for the job. Greg quickly responded to my inquiry (he is a designated Generac dealer so you will be referred to him when you call their 800 number and you live in Northwest Washington state). He soon visited my home and quickly provided his bid. For various reasons, I decided to use another company and they have been excellent. However, I now realize there was a major difference between the two companies. Bayless would have completed the entire project from start to finish. My chosen company did the installation and then left me with a list of items that need completion before they do the final hook up and tests: order propane tank; then, order tank site inspection; then, hire landscaper to dig trench for fuel line; then, order tank and fuel line installation; then, request inspection from county bldg dept; then, order filling of tank and their final hook up; then, get landscaper to close fuel line trench; then, arrange for installer to do final hook up and testing and instruct me on operation. Now, none of this was difficult or problematic...it was a learning experience and I had the time to devote to the project. I will never know the bliss though of other single women who say, "I just hired someone and it was all done"! read more

They were WAY too expensive and not quick to return a call or respond. Our garage breaker kept tripping, turning off our refrigerator and freezer, for seemingly no reason. Even though I called late in the day (after 6 p.m.) they answered the phone and did a great job assessing the issue, even requesting photos via text to help with troubleshooting.
