I recently had to visit the ER , in excruciating Pain i was quickly attended upon my arrival , treated with Compassion , all necessary Steps were taken by the Doctor and the Nurse to get me feeling better . Within 2 Hours i had a Cats an , the results and my Pain enough unter control so I didn't have to be admitted , the Prescription was available at my Pharmacy the same Day and i fallowed up with my Primary for further Treatments . We were visiting family and John went and broke his shoulder! We were in route to an urgent care when I saw the hospital sign and told John, you know..... a hospital would be a better idea. Good thing he agreed a half mile later! I turned around and off to the ER we went. John got "fast tracked", not that it's fast- it just really means they know going in that he won't be admitted. It took a while to be taken back- he was triaged in the front pretty quickly though. Once back- they sent xray fairly quickly and then we waited. A couple hours later the nurse walked in with discharge papers and we laughed because he hadn't seen the doctor- who strolled in just as we were saying that. John's like, so it isn't broke? and this time the doc laughed- oh it's broken alright! He ran through the diagnosis and that John needs to follow up with an orthopedic, to rotate taking ibprophen and Tylenol and ice, ice baby. And we were gone. read more

If I could give this place a negative star I would. My wife got into a motorcycle accident and so we went here. The intake person looked dirty and had multiple cups and snacks around the computer. Once they decided to give her an IV the same person without washing his HANDS OR WEARING GLOVES proceeded to stick and poke my wife. THIS WAS SO UNSANITARY. I'm not surprised to see ratings using the terms "Adequate" because I was there for major surgery with what I felt was a very good Doctor/Surgeon who knew what he was doing and could explain it to a non medical patient. That Doctor being Dr. Tsai but unfortunately as I had heard through the grapevine and even from Medical types like Nurses I knew who said they were sketchy there at best. Well I was there for a major procedure a Hiatal Hernia repair I was scheduled for 9:30 arrival I came early 9:15 after being prepped I sat waiting to be taken into Operating Room for over two hours. By the time I was in OR and already out like a light my friend who took me there said there was a further wait!? Meaning more time under anesthesiologists care who also was an over opinionated type sharing his take on mask wearing and trashing Dr. Fauci who lets see achieved how much more than Mister Sandman? I awoke in the mid afternoon to be told my going home wasn't going to happen because apparently Dr. Tsai wanted me not only watched but up and about walking to remove the gases that were pumped into my body to perform this procedure which involved a Robotic Device being used. Needless to say no one walked me around they barely came in to check on me especially this overnight nurse who brought me only half of my cholesterol medicine when I inquired he said the other was for the following day? Funny I've taken it every night for many years the only time I take it. So my Finofibrate was not taken that night I should have brought my own. Bottom line this is not the place to go for any kind of extended care and probably should be avoided altogether and Dr. Tsai agreed I should not give them good ratings on performance and I don't know of a higher source than that to make my opinions known as they are back by a highly experienced Doctor and Surgeon! Bottom line I suffered more pain than I should have returning home and that shouldn't be what any hospital should be about! read more

Do not go to this hospital .Took my son there and the nurses are so ignorant ,they left us in the room for 3 hours and did nothing for my son. He didn't even sign a paper agreeing to be seen or worked on. The complete negligence that my husband experienced while suffering from multiple strokes was saddening and 1000% dangerous. I am currently admitted for bleeding and unfortunately bled all over the bathroom. The nurses called multiple times to have it cleaned up and even tied cleaning up as much as possible for me. It's now been over 24 hours that blood had sat all over the bathroom and is the smell is so strong it makes me sick every time I have to use it. This is beyond disgusting and unsanitary. Downright a biological hazard. Do not ever come here. read more

Worse ER ever. Nasty people working there Who don't want to be working, apparently. Not courteous, does not give information or status update. Then told if you're not happy you can leave. I will tell you there won't be a next time for this hospital. and don't tell me they're overworked because of Covid. YOU Don't leave a patient in a bed without handrails for hours. You're bound to fall out of bed.! If you tell a patient they're getting a bed do not come back and say when they ask after hours of sitting -there are no beds don't you know it's Covid time!!. I've been here multiple time and feel like they were adequate in providing my care and comfort. I had a baby in 2008, another in 2010, and twins in 2012. My twins had a NICU stay because of prematurity and have nothing but wonderful things to say about these ladies that work in there. The bad points? You'll be brushed off in the ER. I'm very upset with their ER. I went in with a problem that I've had with my stomach occasionally over the last few years. Between here and Bayonet Point, I must have 5 ER visits or so with this problem but doctors can't find the cause. Anyway, during my visit here this time the doctor was skeptical of me from the very start. She basically told me there was nothing wrong (tell that to my burning, throbbing, exploding stomach) and she wasn't going to help me for the pain. I suspected why but then on my release order it confirmed it: she actually wrote that I was showing "drug-seeking behavior". Not only is that wrong but it's insulting. Now, whenever I go to the hospital for anything what are they gonna see? That I'm there shopping for narcotics. It's a big problem for me and they won't even let me see the doctor to give her my side of the story now that I'm not in excruciating pain. I'm going through admin to get this corrected on my records but I'm afraid it's never going to go away. I may have to hire an attorney. On top of that, I heard that a few of the ER nurses tested positive to Coronavirus. I don't trust rumors but because I was just there and I work with sick, elderly people I called to see if I was at risk but all "Katie" in the ER had to say was that they can't give out any information about staff. Surgery center did a great job and took good care. It's a shame tho that they only have two surgery rooms and make everyone wait far too long to get their outpatient procedure done. Then you have the surgery doctors competing for those rooms. Sad stat of affairs. In addition the mall cop they had running around the building wasn't pleasant. He was maintaining the TV in the lobby. He constantly had on a gross, satistic movie that he wasn't even watching. He instead forced us to see it. Asking the ladies at front desk to change to a news station or something else he did not want to budge. Someone needs to pursue/correct these issues. read more

This hospital is the closest to where I live and let me tell you this. If you go in for an EEG and then you need your records forget it. During the review of my Social Security case one of the things I had to do was get an EEG at this place. I arrive at 2 pm and they take me in no problem there. I go through the process which was about an hour. This was in 2017. You'd think when your primary doctor requests the results of the test he'd get them right? Nope! It was like I never even took the test. The hospital told him they couldn't find the results. What kind of a hospital gives you a test required as evidence of your disability, and then loses your results or doesn't even keep them on file? I mean this is unaccepted. I am giving them two stars because they didn't keep me waiting and took me in but honestly I'd rather go to another hospital if they would do a better job. read more

My wife went to E.R. Saturday for a terrible pain in her side. They took her right away. Did tests to eliminate internal organ problems. Gave meds to her for a diagnosis for shingles. Was told she would get a scrip for the problem. Checked out at front desk and got a receipt. The next day being Sunday, my wife was waiting for pharmacy to call about script being ready. No calls. She called pharmacy and was told they did not have a script for her. She then called E.R. desk and they had the script and discharge papers that were never given to my wife. Had to drive back to hospital to get script and discharge papers. 24-hours had gone by and she still had pain. She was supposed to keep taking the medication after the initial dose at the hospital. Very poor patient care!! At that point she had to wait to get get her script filled on Sunday afternoon. We left the E.R. about 2:00. Somebody should be told about this mistake that should have never been made. Not a good experience!! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. This place is a DISGRACE!! They are neglectful and bordering on harmful. My 80 year old mother with a broken back and foot from a fall was basically ignored. Left in her bed for 4 hours AFTER asking to use the bathroom. So long that the nurse who finally came in said well your sheets are dry, well no kidding, it has been 4 HOURS!! Did she change the sheets and gown...nope! She didn't get those changed until a day and a half later. One night a toothless uncaring male nurse came in to give my mother a pill, she was in the middle of a negative reaction to another medication, unable to move or speak, he shoved the pill in her mouth and poured in some water and left. The pill dissolved in her mouth and poured out on the pillow, and the plastic cup he just dropped on her became wedge under her chin and neck for hours! The nurse practitioner that was covering for the doctor, never comes in to see her, never introduces himself, and while being wheeled to a CT scan, she had no idea why she was getting, blurts out in the HALLWAY, while she was being wheeled out, that "oh, yea you have a mass on your lung that they found on the ER x-ray" REALLY??? How many laws did that little episode break? HIPPA? PRIVACY ACT? not to mention how about some empathy? Now we wait almost 48 MORE hours and actually NEVER get the CT scan results...go figure. His name was Micheal, and after complaining about it, he was going to be "spoken to". I doubt it. After many more incidents l;like this, I requested my mother be moved to another hospital, THEN comes the response, the big wigs upstairs. Who seemed very concerned and empathetic. I was begged to give them another chance and to not move her, so I left her one more day since NOW there was a ridiculous amount of care being given, nurses in every 30 minutes, all concerned with my mothers comfort. Until I left for the night, then back to no nursing response for anything. So glad she was discharged the next day out of that nightmare of a hospital. I believe thy are bordering on Elder abuse, and they are DEFINITELY neglectful. Joint Commission certified? That is laughable, but the Joint Commission and the Florida State health board has my complaint and debating whether or not to contact an elder abuse attorney since my mother came out of that experience frightened, and depressed and full of anxiety about anyone caring for her, so maybe someone outside that place will take a look at the lack of care. As a side note, the ambulance driver who transferred my mother to Health South said he would rather DIE in the parking lot of BayFront then to EVER let them "treat" him for anything. Now, THAT says something if a medical professional has that strong of an opinion about it. read more

From the moment we arrived at the emergency room, there were nothing but problems that started small and kept building. I should have just left to a different hospital but when u need a DR as an emergency, u don't have to to be picky and the closest hospital is usually ur only option at the time. We walked in, when to register, just asked name and phone number. NEVER for the insurance card. Found out LATER on that we were mixed up with someone else with the same name from 20 years ago when we haven't even been living in Florida that long. Took forever to get in to see a DR. We were not properly attended yet we saw 2 different couples that walked in and looked 100% fine and joking around and were taken in before us while we had real issues. Long time later, both couples walk out within half an hour of each other smiling with no issues and either a bandage or pad. I finally complained an actual DR that i saw in the back and THEN that's when somebody did something. While getting taking back, the guy LOST the ID/records us. Then u see him asking around. It was on the floor way back in the beginning by the entrance where anyone could see the private info. Then, when taking out blood, the guy was MEGA ruff with a LONG needle he kept taking out back and forth and moving around for about 2 minutes before i said something and instead of trying another vain, he decided to SUCTION out the blood that was not freely coming out causing more longated pain. MEANWHILE, we were in a room with blood stains NOT cleaned at 3 different spots in that room while this guy spilled our blood on the bed from his invention and didn't bother to even try to clean it up. He then threw out the stickers for the blood viles in a private contaminated can, THEN he went back IN that can to dig for the stickers that he threw IN that contaminated can full of BLOODLY needles and pulled the stickers out of there and used them for the viles? DISCUSTING and UNSANITARY. Took hours after that till i complained again just to get a catscan and attended. Within that time frame took a LONG time just to get pain medication even after complaining several times. Meanwhile, i see rooms closing on the sides and less patients there yet STILL the nurse seemed too busy to add the pain killers or the DR to be present. Hours later, after complaining yet AGAIN, finally was going to a private room being admitted and they were cleaning up the room. Took HOURS to clean up 1 room to go in. I had to complain yet AGAIN or else nothing got done. Once in the room, we had a Nurse that was OFFENDED we were wearing masked and FORCEFULLY BY HER OWN HAND while laying on the bed, she came and SWIPED OFF the mask even though we want to keep them on as she said we don't need them and i told her i am HIGH risk from 7 heart attacks and a stroke and copd and other stuff and my partner was sick and scared and we were actually sharing the floor with COVID patience their and she STILL got MAD and said NO u don't need them cause ur just breathing in ur carbon dioxide. I had to do yet ANOTHER complaint, this time, just to keep our masks on. I also explained my partner has mental illnesses and is 50/50 so i am the care taker as well but i was shuned nontheless even though my partner told them also. Again, no proper attentiveness and no timely meds. I complained to another nurse about what happened as still the same nonsense as in the ER was going on. We were already nervous, scared and uncomforable being there as it was and didn't need all this unsanitary and drama. We get a dr Nasir Hamoui urologist the next day who was the nastiest, rudest pompous acting full of himself attitude we ever saw. Spoke down to us, asked us personal questions having NOTHING to do with what what was going on in the hospital because he was being judgemental and was being verbally aggressive and verbally abusive with how he spoke to us. Absolutely the WORST ER I've ever experienced. The staff was indifferent, at best. My husband was taken to an examining room immediately, which was expected since there was only one person waiting. Once he was inside, he spent most of the next 5 hours waiting for test results. The nurse disappeared and had to be tracked down repeatedly so we could get information. We were told he needed a scan, and waited an hour for the technician. The test results were supposed to be available in 30-45 minutes. It took 90, and only after we prodded. There is no "care" here. We never saw a doctor, just a nurse practitioner, and, like the rest of the staff there, he seemed annoyed that he had to waste time with us. We chose Bayfront because it was convenient. It's a very small hosptial. The staff is very nice and friendly. Unfortunately that's where the niceness ends. The billing department has some of the rudest people I have ever talked to. They Send you bills for things that you have already paid for and then fight you about it. The so called manager of the records department refuses to send records to other hospitals or doctors when requested. Her words to my Dr. Was "I am to busy!" My daughter went to emergency room Monday night ( mind u she had been there twice before for pain in right side)and she was told nothing wrong after tests, so emergency said it was the gallbladder this time and put here in a bed and told her surgery will be Tuesday morning, well another dr wanted more tests ( ok no problem) well tests are done and now it's Wednesday and dr said yes gallbladder surgeon will come and talk to you, well now it's Thursday and surgeon comes in late in the day to say I don't think it's your gallbladder ( I want to run another test) by now daughter and family are very mad because we have no answers and my daughter has two lil ones at home and is missing work.Friday comes and this test is done and my daughter waited for results too be told that it takes 48 hours to get results and the surgeon doesn't work on the weekend, by now my daughter is starving cause she hadn't ate since Monday just the fluids the hospital gave her and when they did give her some food it was a popsicle, ginger ale and apple juice , so my daughter left the hospital do to they were just having her take up a bed and charging up a big bill and my daughter still doesn't know if she has a bad gallbladder , my daughter didn't hv insurance and that is the whole reason why she didn't matter, it goes to show you that when you do hv insurance the hospital takes care of you cause they can charge the insurance way to much that we pay for . read more

I had the most pleasant experience today. I had my hart shocked back to rhythm as I had a-fib in the outpatient department. Everyone was extremely pleasant and professional. All went perfect and I personally am very happy with this hospital. My wife gave birth to our son here as well 9 years ago. Nurses here seem very experienced and are very helpful. Even the director of the hospital visited me to make sure I am provided with the best care possible. Amazing!!! This never happened in other hospitals that I have been to with my mother when she was sick. My procedure went all according to plan and was successful. The only small thing I can complaint is the phlebotomist that had to swirl the needle in my arm which kind of hurt and made me uncomfortable. Although I must say my veins are not what you can say easy to draw blood in the first place. Overall I am extremely happy with the care I received here. read more

I give this hospital negative stars. This is hands down the worst hospital to go to if you are white and are in severe pain. The doctor was Arab or Indian or whatever and had no compassion or empathy whatsoever. When I asked to speak with the dr many times, he simply ignored, dr goodchild, and when I told him I wanted to go home because I was in so much pain and was getting no relief, at least at home I can take a shower and do little things to try to manage this excruciating nightmare, the not so good dr kept telling me there's the exit. Leave then. Did not give a f@*# and it seemed he even enjoyed seeing me hurt and crying. Felt almost racist. Not only will I not be paying this hospital bill, neither will my insurance, but tomorrow when the HR dept is open, I will be calling to talk to someone above this foreign piece of garbage to let them know just how awful the staff was. Had to ask multiple times for an ice pack and to have my IV removed. Then after ignoring me asking to have my IV removed I said I'll just leave and was informed the cops would be called on me. Horrible place, horrible staff, horrible place. Sue, you are awesome tho. At least they have one good staff member. She was a great nurse. I def recommend the extra 20 min drive to go somewhere else. I don't know about other people, but this is my new ER of choice! I had an allergic reaction a month ago and all the urgent care centers were closed, so even though I didn't want to, we decided to go to the ER here. (After a bad experience at the Oak Hill ER I was not excited about an ER visit) When we got there, the front staff was very friendly and helpful, got me back into the room quickly, and when I was in the room, a whole group of nurses swarmed around me to help. They were awesome! They didn't even worry about my insurance info til they knew I was safe and cared for! Then they got me out pretty quickly, no waiting around for hours racking up a huge bill for the insurance. The staff up front was very nice when it came time to pay as well! Then the follow up people who were calling to collect the rest of the bill were also very sweet. So, no complaints, this hospital seems to actually care about people, and I will absolutely make this my go-to ER if we need it in the future! (Hopefully we won't) read more

Went to the ER and was treated like a drug seeker. They did not take the time to let me fully explain my issues. They gave me something that made me feel very "loopy" and one of my chief complaints was that I was having numerous dizzy spells. They allowed me to walk out of there instead of using a wheelchair, and I nearly fell, a few times.
