I love this hospital , the techs are really great and helpful . The schedule is on time and accurate. You have to realize at any given time there could be 3 or 4 people screaming repeatedly at staff or just in frustration. It take a people loving person to do this job, cuz some of us are hard to love. If you the staff with respect you get that back. While you are there they are your friend ,you hope to not see again. True it is boring but there are coping skills groups . They allow you to smoke and the breaks are on time . It was something i needed to cope , till i could use my vapor again . I went in on total melt down and my meds were adjusted properly the first time. If people would follow the chain of command and let the nurses do there job . Always ask a tech to speak to the nurse and things run smooth . Thank you for taking care of me so well during my stay . read more

I voluntarily admitted myself to this facility for treatment and was deeply disturbed by the conduct of the staff. Anthony (RN), Taniya (Case Manager), Dr. Hasan, "CC" (Med Tech), and Martha (Therapist) should all be ashamed of the way patients are treated here. At intake, I was explicitly told that my latest discharge date would be Friday. When Friday arrived, I was then informed--without justification--that I would be required to stay an additional three days. I do not have a history of substance abuse involving hard drugs, nor do I have any violent or criminal background. This was my first experience in a facility of this kind, and the lack of transparency and disregard for patient autonomy is unacceptable. During my stay, I experienced what I consider neglect and mistreatment. Physicians were largely absent and failed to conduct proper evaluations. The conditions were unsanitary my bathroom remained smeared in feces for three days, forcing me to avoid using it altogether. This is not only negligent but a serious health concern. Staff members frequently spoke to patients in a dismissive and demeaning manner, demonstrating a clear lack of empathy. I was also placed in situations where I had to disclose sensitive HIPAA-protected information in public areas, which is entirely inappropriate and a violation of patient dignity. While admitted, I developed strep throat and was informed by multiple nurses that they were unable to provide medication. This level of inaction toward a clear medical issue is unacceptable. Upon discharge, I was also not given any prescriptions or medication due to being released "AMA". The staff continued to threaten me with sedation and restrain though I had never cursed and expressed I did wish to be violent or belligerent. Additionally, the facility itself is poorly maintained and offers little to no meaningful resources for patients to engage in therapeutic or constructive activities throughout the day. It gives the impression of a system more focused on financial gain than patient care. What is most troubling is the apparent normalization of these conditions by the staff. Patients seeking help deserve professionalism, respect, and proper care not neglect and disregard. I intend to formally report this facility to the appropriate authorities, including the Florida Disability Rights organization, and will be pursuing further action. This level of care should not be tolerated. You all should be ashamed!!!!! I wish you nothing but the spiciest of diarrhea :) read more

This facility got our son with a traumatic brain injury addicted to smoking. They pass out community cigarettes Nurse Sonja won't help me after I told her several times my son who is a patient there needs help. He had been calling me all evening from the facility. What can I say about this place! First of all the fact that they have NO HEAT IN THIS BUILDING AT ALL, and its been so cold out, they have space heaters plugged in the hallways patients and Techs are huddled with blankets on around them is DANGEROUS!!! The so called Administrator Connie ISN"T licensed to do what she doing the DON Jamie ISN"T licensed, Director of clinical Services ISN"T licensed as well, Gayle and Kristie in HR these women who work in high places ARE NOT licensed nor educated to work in the positions they are in. This place is filthy inside and out Summer time NO AC, BUGS, DIRT, How are they even able to take care of the patients that come into this building is beyond me. This is how little this place chooses NOT to care for the Patients. I think the only people that i encountered at Springbrook that even had some kind of heart and knew what they were doing is a woman by the name of Margret, Im not sure what it is that she does but she was pleasant and very helpful, As well as the gentleman in Transportation, I think that this place needs to be SHUT DOWN. How they could even have people working there with patients everyday and not be licensed in their fields of practice is disgraceful. Shouldn't a Hospital that says it wants to help others help them? Shouldn't they take care of the patients that are there? Dont they have an ethical duty to ensure the safety and health of the patients that they are entrusted with? They should be licensed, I guess that they think they are above everything, I have sent letters to Joint Commission, ACHA, OSHA, and all state Licensing Board. The People that run this company are disrespectful and rude. DO NOT SEND FAMILY MEMBERS HERE if you want them to live. Send them to a place that cares and can help them get better. This place needs to be shut down. Hopefully soon someone will SHUT this place down, They had a Patient DIE in the room, the TECHS didn't do checks on him like they are supposed to do, they left the door open for at least an hour where other patients could see his dead body, this was HEARTLESS and UNETHICAL. They LIED to the people doing the investigation. The nurses on duty sat around the nurses station playing games on their phones while this poor patient passed alone without help. I have NEVER been more DISGUSTED than I was when I was here. read more

A facility which is something of a necessary evil. It accepts patients in crisis, but does not respond to family questions or concerns after admission. They usually do not even answer the phone. They do not notify anyone of an impending discharge. They won't even tell family who the attending physician is. Care is said to be poor to only fair, but they are the only facility for many miles around! read more

A friend of mine was given medication that interfered with her antipsychotic medication and just went nuts. She believes she's in a relationship with Eminem, that Jennifer Lopez is trying to break them up, and that, at 5'4" and 200 lb. she should be a fashion model because she would make the male models look good. Also, Eminem time-traveled to add her name to a song he wrote when she was six years old and that she is a great songwriter, words and music. Springbrook has had her Bakaer-acted twice and let her out each time batshit crazy. "But she was calm," they said. Her personality is now either flat or angry. She believes everyone is out to get her. If the meds were not working, Springbrook could have ordered an MRI to determine if there is a mass in her brain or a lesion. But they just take their money and run their psych ward like One Flew over the Cuckoo's nest. read more

I am surprised there is not thousands of terrible reviews this is just plain sad that a facility of this kind is so horrible and still operating. I cannot speak for others or even clarify there truths are sound, but I can say that a loved one of mine was taken via transport to this facility and now that I have first hand experience with my own situation I can say that I myself will never be the same and my loved one who was confined there will be forever scarred and was only there 4 - days. Getting someone out of this facility is extremely difficult it takes money and time and not everyone has the same ability to do this and for that I am so terribly sorry for any and all of you that have had to endure your stay for however long. It is time for facilities like these to be inspected by various agency's that do have some control over what is happening inside these walls and it is their job's to do so. ACHA Complaint, Joint Commission Complaint, Dept. of Financial Services, and Civil Suits look these up and utilize them all. They are available and each and every person can do something about places like this. Maybe just maybe it can help you heal and assist others that have yet to experience such a horrible ordeal and it may also work towards closing these places down or at the very least cause surprise inspections and a thorough review of exactly what is going on in there. My loved one will no longer go near a Doctor or Hospital or any other health care facility or provider after what they went through in this place they are now so afraid that it may happen this way again. In closing I must say that his confinement was Involuntary and totally unnecessary and somehow this happened to them so do not think that this may never happen to you. Get involved voice your opinions share your experiences and reach out to the above mentioned complaint facilities it does work and at least it may just may change this facility's practices and above all the $$$$$$$ that they continue to pocket over someone else's trauma. Consider legal avenue's if you have the means or Class Action Law Suits remember strength in numbers, band together make things happen cause facilities like these to feel some amount of responsibility and monetary damage. Remember there is a special place for people and facilities like these and it sure isn't Heaven - Karma people Karma it is a "B" and it has your name on it. Love to you all please try to heal and get active DO SOMETHING you and only you can so rise up and be heard to anyone and everyone that will listen. read more

First, I am only putting any rating at all since it would not post without one. I have grave concerns about this hospital who is professing quality mental health care. I have a friend who was forced to stay without consent and violated the Baker Act for seven days which is an egregiously long time without a mental health diagnosis indicating such a stay. She was unable to communicate with family or love ones during this long stay. This person was completely cut off violating her basic human rights. She was ridiculed when she protested being kept and had no avenue to voice legitimate concerns. Also, she did not receive her blood pressure medications during her stay which could have caused significant health complications or possibly even death during such a long stay. She did not receive any therapy or visits from mental health professionals during her stay. There should have been a treatment plan developed that follows state standards of care with the patient's signature which never occurred. Absolutely no treatment was given except being told to take vitamin pills that frankly seems suspect since no further information was provided of what was in these vitamin pills. Moreover, they manage to provide these vitamin pills but could not comply with prescriptions that were already given by her medical doctor? Did they even talk or coordinate care with other treating physicians? This is normally standard practice. Did they not have visiting hours? How can a patient be put into psychiatric care and not have visitors when they are not a danger to themselves or others? Nothing is more traumatic then to be cut off from family members, not having life saving medications and being left basically alone with an uncaring staff for days on end not knowing what is going to happen next. This hospital needs serious investigation and is causing significant traumatic harm to those in their care. read more

This is only the beginning of what I have to say about this place. From management all the way down.....you could have gotten me killed. February 2022, I reached out for help in a situation and had spoken to a manager(I am saving her name for need to know) and had gotten counseling by her on phone several times, which was an absolute joke and unprofessional to say the least ,now looking back. I was desperate and dealing with my fiancee who was in psychosis with 4 different personalities and have never in 10 years living together witnessed anything like this. 6 months of this and once an ex parte to your place they were placed in your care after this all started and certainly not the hospital I wanted for many reasons. I will end this with the last person on phone at day of his discharge in March 22 as the nurse didn't know Zach, another joke had transfered me to them regarding questions on his meds. The 2 lovely ladies were telling him he should make me pay dearly for putting him in there( they apparently are not qualified for that job as why would you tell a patient in a psych ward your opinion of anything!!!!!) The hospital then did NOT wait for me to leave work for the day( which I assist Dr in procedures on Thursday's and day of week he was discharged) The hospital dropped him off at dealership to pick up his vehicle which stalled at gas station next to bar and there you go!!!! Walked home still in psychosis after drinking at the bar and all 4 of my tires were ruined and other things at our home of mine! I will not only leave this review I am doing everything I can to stop this from happening. I am leaving out a lot of this nightmare and trust me when I say this, it's not over! No star but won't let me post without clicking on one. Zero for all departments and zero for all employees read more

UPDATE: AUGUST 9,2022 I went to the Sheriff department to file charges on the patients that assaulted me. I was told that one of the case were closed. I was also told I really can't file charges against Jack F. For spitting in my face twice , because he's already in a mental institution and the deputy lady said it's been over month and that if they don't know how long they keep their camera footage. So basically it's nothing the Sheriff department can do. I told the officer that I was calling 911 and they still told me they were not coming. The Hernando police did come there, several times, because a patient escaped and went home. I get assaulted and they did nothing to them, there was no punishment for what they did to me. I WISH OSHA, HEALTH DEPARTMENT, INSPECT THIS GOD AWFUL PLACE. Things are happening there that are very serious. I couldn't even call dcf, disability rights abuse. My wife cell phone went missing in this facility. They told us we would get paid for the $899 iPhone 14 if we provided a receipt. This facility right out of CooCoo's nest..filthy and understaffed..Feces smeared by patient left on walls for 2 days toilets plugged constantly and showers cold water..I was left in receiving for 24hrs detoxing no meds sleeping on recliner..witnessed vicious assault and patient remained. This place is really bad, as everyone else has stated. They kept me so drugged up that I have little recollection of being there. They claimed I was an alcoholic and gave me detox drugs even though my BAC was .00 and I hadn't touched a drink in over a month. I told them not to give me detox drugs because I don't drink that much. They did, and I hallucinated. I have severe hypertension. They gave me no BP meds. My BP skyrocketed to the point that the pharmacist ran into my room in a panic, meds in hand. My room was bad, but I felt horrible for the patients sleeping on the floor with only a blanket. The attitude here is that patients are inmates and are the enemy. Jails are run like this, not a place that's supposed to help people who need it. Geraldo Rivera would have a field day here. The state needs to check this place out and shut it down. Two days after I was finally unBaker Acted, I flew out of Florida to another state. I would truly rather die than go back there. read more

Horrible place. Staff is very unprofessional. I witnessed a staff verbal altercation between 3 or more staff members each screaming "that's not my job!". Also saw one staff member quit bc of it. Another staff member said that they would never recommend this facility to anyone. Staff members are asleep at the common room table or playing on their phones. They get mad if asked for anything! Witnessed my case manager scream at another patient, so hard I started to feel very unsafe. The units - there were 3 when I was there - are like a prison. There is no organization, you wait on Drs approval on everything even to use a razor. If your homeless they will not discharge you except to a group home - I had to lie to get discharged. The staff will lie right to your face and then recant on what they say. I got sent here on an involuntary hold that was switched to voluntary the same day for being wrongfully Baker acted, I was threatened by a nurse for trying to call a help line, the nurses were rude and would scream at patients despite them being mute or having dementia. I was promised my seizure meds and a wheel chair...didn't happen til day 3! I had 3 seizures which they transported me to the hospital and never called my emergency contact. My meds were withheld 3 days my personal shower items and cigarettes that were brought were never given to me. My bathroom was encased by ants so bad that I had to shake them off the toilet paper. Not to mention black mold. All while my shower ran continuously with no way to turn it off. People crapping in closets, hallways and different rooms with little clean up. When I told staff about ants, shower, and mold I was told that those issues were the least of their concerns and was blown off. They held me against my will and would not let me out until my loved ones called the sheriff. Someone definitely needs to shut this place down. A friend went here for help dealing with the pressure of his father dying. They were diagnosed previously depression, anxiety, and ptsd, none of which were treated while they were in this facility. The staff in unkind and definitely uncaring. Their doctor did not even look up from his paperwork while he "evaluated" him. The psychologist insisted he was a smoker even though he was not and kept stating that he was lying because he went outside with the smokers. Outside is the only tolerable place. He said he felt like he was in a 1920s asylum the entire time he was there. He were crowded 3 and 4 to a room with uncomfortable beds, a lack of pillows, and no privacy. How can a place like this exist? My elderly father with dementia passed away six days after having been released from Springbrook due to "dehydration." Instead, he was diagnosed with pneumonia and sepsis, lost thirty pounds over four weeks at Springbrook, had terrible bruises, presumably due to falls that no one at Springbrook ever mentioned, and had multiple wounds on his legs and hands.
