I was sitting outside Shake Shack and witnessed the store employee (possibly the owner?) come storming out to scream at a nice gentleman who had parked in front of the store to quickly pick up his to-go order from Shake Shack. He was loudly humiliating him in public which was so sad because the guy hadn't broken any parking rules -- the spot said "15 minute parking" and wasn't in any way an exclusive parking spot for the liquor store, but rather for the entire shopping plaza in general (including Shake Shack). It seems like the store employee needs to take this up with the city rather than taking his aggression out on the local patrons. I know that I won't be giving this store my business after having witnessed that type of behavior. read more

Other than Hi Times, which is within a couple of hundred yards, this is my local liquor store. The best thing about this place is that they are open later and that they have select $2 singles (out the door). They also are a great place to grab your lottery tickets. So, for $5, I can get a Mega Millions, a Powerball, and a beer. Follow them on Instagram for their special deliveries of beers. just have to make sure that you have somebody who can swing by and pick up the special stuff because it goes fast. Come here to get lotto tickets... has a lot of selection on scratcher... Love the many selection of wine and drinks... got all size of bottles... lots of selection and variety... Got snacks, candy, ice cream, hostess, traveler items, chips, soda, gatorade, energy drink, etc. Place is neat and clean. The cashier (Jason) very helpful, friendly, and give great customer services... know his stuff... read more

I like Baycrest Wine & Spirits! A small store with a decent selection of beers, what's not to like?! If you follow them on Instagram, they also post when they have popular beers such as Pliny the Elder or new beers that they carry. Anyplace wins my heart if: 1) they sell TAPATIO! 2) they carry a nice selection of wine.. (it is not High Times but it works) 3) they carry Have-a-Chips which pairs nicely with TAPATIO! 4) ENORMOUS Fuji water bottles. 5) awesome and friendly staff! I have been meaning to review Baycrest for a while. The owners are super friendly and it for sure has that family feel to it when you walk in. That warm smile and hello when I walk in makes me feel bad for not writing about how rad they are every time and so alas BAYCREST here is your first review! You guys are the best! You save me when I am in a rush to make my "Tinto de Verano" (wine of the summer) at my salon for our clients. Because now it has become almost a staple and your wine selection is good for a corner liquor market. You carry all the ingredients needed sans the lemons but what-eves I still love you guys!! Prices... Fair... and if you are lucky you may roll in one weekend to find their daughter outside the front grilling hot dogs. I suggested Bacon wrapped but whatever. I don't know why everyone is hating on this place, maybe don't waste your money on lotto tickets. But the staff was really nice. They also have a great selection of beers and wine. I also love how it doesn't have that typical liquor store feel. read more

Awesome local "corner store". We use Baycrest to pick up our beers for the most part. Great selection of beers and typically have Pliny the elder on a weekly/biweekly basis, which is extremely hard to come by! The also have a great lotto scratcher selection! Easy to get to as its right off 17th street! read more

I came in the store to purchase a lotto ticket along with my son, who is now of age to purchase his own ticket (this is his second time). The heavy set guy with the scruffy beard sitting behind the counter implied that my son give him a tip. I wasn't sure if I heard him correctly but low & behold when I stepped up to buy mine he said the same to me. My son actually gave this guy a dollar not knowing that this is NOT common practice! (I didn't know my son gave him a tip until I got in the car). So a few days ago I went in to redeem the ticket and as I was waiting in line there was an elderly couple purchasing their lotto tickets. There was small talk and then whammy... there it was... the implication of the tip. The man at first thought this was a joke but soon found out that this guy was serious! He was not happy! I know if you have a good size winning ticket it is customary to give a tip but WHY in the world would you give this guy sitting behind the counter a tip for a ticket you just bought! How this guy still has a job when there are so many other people who would love to be in his position is beyond me! Nepotism maybe? I don't know but what I do know is I will never go there again and I encourage you to do the same. BTW I'm pretty sure this is the same guy that the other yelps was about! read more

Don't call this place asking for Pliny. I had never heard of this place because I don't live in town but a friend commented on their Facebook post announcing they had it. It was pretty late at night by the time I saw it so the next morning, I decided to call. The guy laughed at me, called me honey, lectured me on its scarcity, told me there are better beers and said he should've just not told me whether they had it or not so I'd be forced to come in. Sorry, but it's a drive and I already have other places I buy the 4 or 5 other beers that are better. Sometimes, I miss Pliny though and I would've come in and bought the Pliny and stocked up on other beer/liquor if the guy would've just been more straightforward about when they come in and if he hadn't taken on such a patronizing tone. Luckily, I found a place closer to me where the owner gave me a window of when his order from Russian River comes in and I've gotten it every time I have time to make it in. read more
