Food was good. Staff were friendly, and very pet friendly! Fun atmosphere for families.

We were in Worcester on all day business and were starving by the time 5pm hit. And after what we endured that day we just really wanted a beer. I had no idea this area of MA was filled with so many breweries! Our criteria: -real food -good selection of beer -not racist **This third item was the actual dealbreaker bc multiple breweries had comments from Black folks and other patrons of color that said the businesses were not welcoming or downright racist. Actually while I'm up here on this soapbox I'm always looking at reviews for everything for indications of racism. It sucks but it's necessary and I appreciate folks who are honest about their experiences before I spend my Black dollars. OK I'm done. For now. Anyway. Back to the spot. My husband said I always pick the best places and Bay State was no exception. It's set up next to the (hockey?) complex and has a huge free parking lot. There's a choice of inside picnic table seating, outside picnic seating, or indoor bar seating. We opted for indoor seating. Bits, Bobs, and Fat Things -wood picnic tables were great. Very sturdy and tons of clearance between the bench and tabletop IYKYK -excellent beer menu. When I tell you every beer was delicious. I almost always choose the sour but theirs was a framboise so I opted for the blood orange lager instead. Woulda got a 6pack but since we decided to go up Montreal instead of home (see previous review) I didn't. Husband got the Sinshine hazy IPA. Both fantastic and served in deep steins. -food was excellent AND IT WAS 50cent wing Tuesdays. We got 10 garlic Parmesan and 10 honey soy. And an order of onion rings. Awesome all around. -waitress was friendly and efficient and kept us stocked with food and refills. I'll definitely be back - this was a great experience!

I enjoyed the Mac and cheese and the no-no margarita! I also enjoyed how spacious the place is, there is plenty of seating. Also, our bartender was nice and gave good recommendations on what to drink.

We've been to over 25 breweries so far since we started this little adventure of visiting breweries early this year. Bay State is by far our favorite brewery. My husband loves the selection of beers here, this is the only place he'll get a flight because of their awesome selections of beers. I just love their mandarin orange hard seltzer, it is my favorite flavor here and anywhere else. Everything we have tried on their menu has been delicious and their burgers and pizza are our favorites. They don't have a large menu (and frankly large menus scare me) so everything is always very fresh and cooked perfectly. We also love the atmosphere in Bay State, great music and awesome servers too.

We dropped by Bay State to celebrate the end of a long week with a couple of pints. One aspect that sets Bay State apart from other breweries in town is there selection of German beer styles. Today I had their Hefeweizen which I thoroughly enjoyed. In the past I've had their Kolsch and Oktoberfest lager which were similar in quality. They have plenty of seating both indoors and a nice patio outside. The food is pretty solid - nothing exceptional though fits the need for keeping a full belly when throwing a couple back. Another favorite part of this place as you can order 1L beers in giant mugs - awesome! If you're looking for some solid beer and a nice afternoon, check out Bay State when you have a chance.

We really enjoyed ourselves. The Shrimp and Andouille Sausage Skewer is a great flavor combination. Live music with Amanda Cote and Johnny Blue Horn kept the atmosphere jumping on a cold winter night. The Cuttyhunk Hefeweizen was just what we needed to stay warm and cozy.

First and foremost, learn from my mistake, don't go on a night when there's a game going on at the DCU as this is attached. That being said, we were able to get a seat and the waitress was very cool. They had a great selection of draft beers and seltzers. My favorite draft was the blood orange. Crazy good. We started with the large nachos and finished with a Chicken Bacon Ranch pizza. They were both good but not the best we have had. Do not let that turn you away, as the drinks are the draw anyways. They also had a live band, which was because of the size made it hard to hear. The band was talented however. Once the game started it cleared out nicely and it was a good atmosphere. They also have great specials throughout the week so give it a peek before heading out

Just based on beer, I'd give this place 5 stars. Their beer was really good and reasonably priced. They had a huge selection of beers and they even make their own seltzer's. I had their fall pumpkin beer and a beer called shrute farms, which was made from beets - definitely a unique beer! They sell 4 packs for $14 and you can mix and match flavors, and their 4 pack of seltzer's are $10. Service was also very good, but the part I didn't like was the atmosphere and the food. Since this place is attached to a hockey rink, there are people walking in and out (a lot who were not wearing masks) and the bathroom/parking lot is shared with the arena, which I found to be a weird concept. For food, we ordered the totchos and boneless wings. While the food wasn't necessarily 'bad', the flavors were off. The totchos had beer cheese, but it did not taste like any beer cheese I've ever had - it tasted more similar to cheap nacho cheese. The wings were good, but the sauce was really weird. We ordered honey soy ginger, which I was expecting to be sort of a teriyaki or jerk flavor, but it was just a weird taste. I definitely think this place has good potential (I think they opened recently), they just need to get the hang of it!

We loved the atmosphere and the fact that it was dog friendly both INSIDE and outside.. The waitress was great, she knew the beers and the menu. My husband and I ordered 2 different IPAs, both were very good. We ordered a small Margherita pizza. The crust was very good but it had too much sauce. We also ordered the salt and pepper wings. They were different and ok but we can not rave about them. I think we will come back - overall it was a good experience. It was convenient off 290 and there was a parking lot

My fiancé and I had been having a lot of trouble finding a venue that could host our crowd at a reasonable price, so we were beyond thrilled when Birchtree not only accommodated our 60 guests beautifully, but we actually ended up under budget. From start to finish, the service was phenomenal. The team was genuinely invested in making sure our night was perfect. They went above and beyond in every way and more than accommodated anything we needed. We had an outpouring of texts the next day from our guests. So many people let us know how beautiful the venue was and how wonderful of a time they had. The space itself truly showed a refined elegance which was the perfect kickoff to our wedding season. If you're thinking about working with BirchTree, Jayne, Caitlin, and the entire staff we're incredibly organized and attentive to detail, helping us set up, pack up, and even ensured all guests had clean tables, fresh drinks, and the bar staff recommended really unique cocktails & mocktails! We are so grateful to the entire BirchTree team, especially Jayne and Caitlin for helping us set the tone for our wedding. We would absolutely recommend having an event here - you will be in the best hands!

The staff are busy working - and this is very much a "DYI" establishment (screens to order on your own food, menu boards on LED screens) - but they are still very friendly & helpful if you need something or have a question. I ordered the "Sweet Soy Five Spice" stir fry bowl (with a few customizations). The portion? Perfect. The flavor? Fantastic. The quality? Amazing. While it is a little pricey, I don't feel too bad about paying for great quality food in such a nice location. It definitely has that "casual upscale" vibe, in a good way. They have a good rewards program which I'm always a sucker for. Also, they have a handful of fun dessert & cold entree options that I definitely plan to try when I return. One of the coolest things was the QR code on the bottle of water I got - it led me to a page with one of the chef's recommended "secret menu" items. Just a nice touch - something my marketing brain is thankful for! :) I will certainly be heading back here sooner than later. They may have just earned a "regular" customer with me!!

Happy to see there were some high chairs available, too. We got 2 regular Create-Your-Own Stir Fry with noodles. The garlic butter sauce is unparalleled. Our meals were wonderful and so fresh tasting. The kids meal was great but it was put in a take out container while the adult meals were in eat-in bowls. I'm not sure if that's how it always comes or if they were out of small bowls. But it was hard for the kids to eat out of. Don't love that the only fruit option was grapes because I didn't have anything to cut them with for my toddler. We got a couple desserts to go - the banana pudding was good concession to not having a Magnolia Bakery around here. Definitely would get again. The Cobbler was also good but there was a lot of yogurt and not enough other stuff. Overall, while on the pricier side, it's definitely worth it. I would come here again and again. There was one employee who was super attentive and helpful - I wish I noticed their name! But the experience was great.

When we passed by Farmer and the Fork, we were immediately struck and embraced with an inviting and intense aroma of cider doughnuts wafting through the air. We made it a point to return afterwards and we did, there was no disappointment. About the circular size of a standard mug, the cider doughnuts were freshly made, warm and had great texture and slight chew. And so we had to order another half dozen. Just that good. Although we don't typically seek out grilled cheese, we noticed on their menu a selection with braised short ribs. Our decision was made and it was the right one. Sinking your teeth into the buttered crisp toast, into the cheese and finding the short ribs before biting through and pulling away with everything and chewing, delighted us very much. They also had apple cider and hot chocolate which could be have an addition of spirits for an extra cost. My friend got the apple cider with Captain Morgan's and I ordered the hot chocolate with Kalua. Come here definitely for the warm cider doughnuts and you won't regret it - you might just order another half dozen or two!

When I got the text -went inside at the counter for pick up, the woman was not helpful. ( Rudely told me to find my tray by using my paper receipt. ) The drink bar was disorganized, a long line. The teen-ages in front took the lemonade, stopped and drank half a cup then refilled, their cup right there, thus holding up the long line. There was separate ice but the kids tipped the lemonade so plastic ice holder was slanted inside the holder. I noticed the drip bowl was overflowing and lemonade was spilled all over the counter. I proceeded outside to eat at the tables and chairs, but all 10 tables were full (some with just 2 people and 6 chairs. ) So I crossed to the other side with open 10 tables - two young girls told me to leave. A private party inside had 1/2 hour left. Yet, I noticed that not anyone was outside at all. They said the 10 blue umbrella space was paid for , even if not being used - so leave. The cafe could have used that lovely new blue umbrellas 10 extra outside seating area, (as cafe was extremely busy and weather was splendid. ) I retreated back to the cafe outside area, and stood up to eat. I noticed the concrete was broken, sticks everywhere and the umbrellas on this side were not secured well , thus blowing in the breeze. The nice private other side of the deck remained unoccupied with the extra -10 blue umbrellas at the tables closed off for the rest of the afternoon. Still closed and totally unoccupied even after the time was up. (The private party apparently choice to remain inside. ) Meanwhile, cafe side remained crowded. Food was expensive $16 for a salad. $4.25 for lavender lemonade. Not the Best experience. The view was lovely.
