They specialize in paintings with an ocean or nautical theme. I've really enjoyed viewing the paintings there; artistically his paintings utilize different lighting themes very well. A nice place to browse on a rainy day. They also do workshops, and the gallery is run out of a Victorian home so be sure to check the website for more details http://www.ericwiegardt.com/ I wouldn't mind owning some of his work.

Eric and Crystal ( the framing consultant) are so comfortable to work with. Eric listens so well and quickly understood what we wanted. The painting was delivered very timely and under the budget we discussed. Enough of the process, the painting is beautiful. He somehow captured everything we wanted in this memory. I want to thank Eric for a family treasure we will love forever. The colors and feel of the painting change as the light changes just like Wilapa does. We love our painting and can highly recommend this great gallery and talented painter

This was by far our favorite shop in long beach. Not only did the the shop have such unique finds,…read moreit also had one of a kind items created directly at the location by the owner and artist herself. Everything was more than reasonably priced, to the point it felt like a steal for some items. If I head back to Long Beach in the future, this will be my first stop! This place has a unique blend of art, beautiful jewelry, funny things, and even useful tools and gifts. Very refreshing as I love these types of shops but usually end up seeing the same type of things. All new items I had never seen.

Just when you think there's not much to know about kites, the World Kite Museum proves you wrong…read more My favorite part about the museum was the staff's enthusiasm about what they had to offer! For a mere $5, you get to hear all about Long Beach's annual kite festival (and see every poster dating back decades), view kites from WWII, other countries, and learn about how kites influenced the engineering of the first planes. It's short and sweet, and you can probably get through it in an hour or less, but if you read everything they have, it would take a few hours. They also have a very nice kite store with kites in every price range, from kid kites to sport kites. They have almost every kite they sell there also on display, which is very helpful! We purchased two, and they both worked and looked great and provided several hours of fun before we left town. A nice surprise at the end is that they gave each of our kids a small plastic kite as a souvenir. While these kites likely won't hold up for many uses, it was definitely a nice touch. We will be repeat customers!

It used to be better but now they are limited and I feel that the area is not as fun as before. Let's talk about the festival.... The mascot is a Razor Clam! Yep, it is! Pretty funny. I actually go every year because I like when the town is booming and this seems to bring people out. Must dos are Chowder competition. You get to sample about 10 of them (2 oz little cups) and vote on your favorite one. It's fun when yours wins. There's free fritters but you only get a small piece (it's free) but it's fun seeing them make it. There's always a band playing. That's kind of fun. Booths, galore. One even had a mermaid in water once. I have seen the festival evolve. They got rid of some things but kept others and made others even better. What I do miss was the free items you would get if you visited specific stores. You would get a little booklet and if you visited one place, you'd get a magnet, if you visited another place, you'd get a key chain, another, you'd get something else. It made it fun to check out different places in the area. Again, it's worth going to and just enjoying everything... Oh, and the best part is that it takes place on a clamming day so before all this, you go clamming bright and early so it doesn't interfere with the festival. The festival even offers razor clamming lessons. I have never gone, but for those who don't have someone to teach them, it's probably worth checking out. April 2025

Hopefully I'll be there in 2016. Long Beach, a town of less than 4,000 souls on a windswept peninsula in Southern Washington opened its doors in April of 2014 inviting seafood lovers and nature lovers to come and visit. I would say the event was a success as I heard one visitor say all the hotels in town were full. Small town, homespun hospitality. The website for the event was: http://longbeachrazorclamfestival.com/ Events included razor clam digging lessons, clam chowder cook off and beach clean up, but most of all it was an opportunity to kick back and cool our heels and eat at many excellent restaurants. We even had some rain which was refreshing coming from drought plagued California. The best small countryside pumpkin patch I have ever been to!…read moreWe drove (~50 miles/1 hr) out to Smiths Farm from the Chehalis WA Denny's restaurant after having breakfast (included Pumpkin Pancakes). Denny's is less than a mile at Exit 76 off I-5. Hwy 6 (Exit 77 off I-5) winds through small towns and the countryside along the Willapa River. It was a beautiful October day, we enjoyed the colorful fall foliage! The turn onto Camp 1 Rd is directly across from Willie Keils Grave Historical Marker. An interesting historical stop in itself. From Hwy 6 stay on Camp 1 Rd, you are less then 2 miles from Smiths. No entry fees!!!! There is plenty of free parking close to the patch! The owners have worked hard to create many things to see and do, I was very impressed. Everything was neat and tidy. The family farm is nicely laid out, with all games, shopping and other attractions set close to the pumpkin patch. There was a fun 10-foot-tall roll the ball game. You had to pull the handles attached to ropes to adjust the level of a board as you guided a ball along a cut out wooden pathway. Forgive me for not knowing the name. It was a game you could have seen 100 years ago. Free to play and all skill. It was fun to see both kids and adults try their luck! There were several great photo opportunities for one or more people, including a large backdrop in front of the pumpkin patch where a group of ten people could have snuggled in together. We shopped the cute hand-made wooden Halloween yard art. I loved the $5 hanging Ghost & $10 Black Cats stakes with name plates! I had to take some of these home... LOL! They had cute handmade/painted wooden 3D fence art. Dogs and roosters who were reclining across top/horizontal boards ($20-30). We also saw a huge birdhouse, 3 or 4 stories tall ($40). Adorable crochet pumpkin orange Jack-O-Lantern hats! There was a nice assortment of homemade/sewn bowl cozies and oversized mug mats & coaster. The owner made a great ATV pulled kids oil drum car ride! The 5 black cars are decorated with Jack-O-Lanters, ghost and moons. The pumpkin patch is neatly setup with walkways and a huge scarecrow. There are wheelbarrows to help you take you large pumpkin/s back to the wash station and out to your car/truck/SUV... This is just some of what is there, they have other games, play areas and items for sale. The people at the farm were friendly, helpful, and very welcoming! It did not matter if you were a single person out for a drive or a family of 10, you felt like you had been coming here for years! Smith Farm is open Sat & Sun 10AM-4PM
