History
Established in 2007.
Fine Art Investigations is a small art research company based Long Beach, Washington, that serves clients throughout the nation. Fine Art Investigations, with at least one good clue, can efficiently and correctly identify artists of 19th century American portraits. Since its beginnings in 2007, FAI has developed a database of hundreds of 19th century American portrait artists and compiled thousands of images the work of those artists. These tools, combined with advanced degrees in American art history and history, outstanding research skills, and a sound, logical methodology, make us successful art detectives.
Meet the Business Owner: Patricia M.
Patricia Moss is an art historian, or art detective if you will, who holds double master's degrees in art history and history, and who, for over 20 years has specialized in George Caleb Bingham and 19th century American portraits. Her expertise has been acknowledged by the Smithsonian's Research and Scholars' Center, and by invitations to be a guest curator for the Bingham Bicentennial Exhibit, "Steamboats to Steam Engines: George Caleb Bingham's Missouri: 1819-1879," (March 10-September 8, 2011) at the Truman Presidential Museum; and curator for the opening exhibition, "George Caleb Bingham: Witness to History," Jackson County Art Museum Independence, Missouri (September 7, 2013 -).
