Gentleman from garage took my keys, tested my car immediately and I was finished almost before I had a chance to sit down. I am not exaggerating - it was probably six minutes [I'm not complaining.] The price seemed extremely fair. I'd been dreading getting the Smog Check done: finding a reputable place, paying a fair price, spending the time and money. This was SO EASY and very pleasant. Go to Kim's on Western in Torrance.

My buddy got a new roof top tent (RTT) for his Jeep Wrangler JLU and needed a new roof rack base…read morefor it. His old Rugged Ridge rack had a basket and didn't work with a RTT. Lucky me, he asked me if I wanted his old rack... FOR FREE!! All I had to do was drive over to Torrance Auto Care to get it since that is where it was taken off and his new rack and tent was being installed. Let me tell you, Kyle, the owner, specializes in off road and overlanding rigs and mods AND he knows his stuff with regards to gear AND places to wheel. I mean he has the hookups from Alabama Hills to Ensenada for trails, free or low cost camp sites, to even geoduck (giant clam for sushi or sashimi) in Ensenada. He'll even tell you how to prepare it and cook it! It's clear Kyle loves wheeling and camping and overlanding as much as he does auto repair. He does a lot of mods and lifts from Old Man Emu, to King, to Fox and everything in between. He's even an authorized Accuair distributor and installer if you want to go extreme air ride. He's got 4Runners, Land Cruisers, new Broncos and of course, Jeeps on his lot. Every single one has been touched by Kyle in one way or another. As for me, the roof rack will be my first mod by Kyle. I see a 3.5"-4" lift in my future with 37's... His prices are fair... Not cheap, but he does good work and gives tons of advice on where to take your rig or how to do easy mods yourself. Until then, Kyle will be my go to guy for trail and camping recommendations. He even has an off-road club with like 50 members that he'll take places like Ensenada. He's the new owner of this place and he's looking for a new name, so keep that in mind when you read the other reviews. He doesn't have a credit card reader set up yet, so it's cash or venmo only for now... Bummer, but epay is what's up right now, anyway.

Since they're a certified shop for State Farm, it made the process feel a little less stressful from the start. I stopped by one morning and explained the situation to DJ. He came out, took photos of the damage, and told me he'd email over the estimate. I actually received it pretty quickly, which I appreciated. He asked that I give him about two days' notice before dropping off the car so he could order all the necessary parts. Throughout the repair, he kept me updated by text, which I really liked. At one point, he noticed some additional damage that wasn't related to this accident and asked if I wanted it repaired, along with the cost. I appreciated that he asked first instead of just assuming. Best part -- my car was ready in just two days! The whole process was smooth, communication was great, and everyone was friendly. Definitely recommend this shop if you're looking for honest service and solid customer care.
