We initially reached out to Bay Area Plus Landscaping to pour a concrete slab for our hot tub. Miguel immediately responded and showed up the same day for a bid. We booked them and they started the next day. We were so impressed with the work, we hired them for a second (larger) concrete slab and to hardscape our large backyard. They were able to complete this project in under a week. This included removing soil, creating a fire pit circle with pavers, leveling the ground, placing new irrigation, laying lawn, and bringing in tan bark. I hired Jose, with Bay Area Plus Landscaping, to install artificial grass at my mom's house. It was the best choice ever. Jose and his team worked so hard to make everything perfect, they were amazing...and it only took 4 days! I really wanted to be there to watch the magic happen, but unfortunately, I had to work. Jose was kind enough to take a video of all the action each day and send it to me so I didn't miss a thing. On their last day there, I realized there was a small area with a tree out front that I had not included in the original work order. I felt bad bringing it up since they were almost finished. Agustin and Jose were very helpful in unpacking years of chaotic irrigation... "choices" that had been made by previous owners of our home that we discovered while doing a separate project. While time was of the essence and working in between a different crew, Agustin was able to get on site quickly, do high quality work, and do it faster than he originally quoted. We have a very small backyard and one portion of it (an area along the side of the house) was not usable, as it was filled with dirt and debris. However, rather critically-- their team walked all over the concrete before it had finished setting and leaving permanent footprints on every area of our patio and walkway. After a little bit of back and forth, they did refund me $2,500 to pay for a concrete specialist to resolve the issue. It's just been an ongoing problem that nobody seems to be able to fix. Maybe they're good at what they do, but I'll never know. Jose was prompt to respond to my request for a quote, came to see my yard, offered me ideas and promised me a quote by the next week. Two weeks passed, and I hadn't heard back. I texted: No response. I called the next day, and he quoted me on materials I never asked for, made excuses for why he never responded, told me to go through a designer instead and that he can't help. So, he wasted my time. AND, he apparently didn't even recall what I wanted, or what we discussed, when he said he couldn't help me. I found the whole experience disappointing. It seems good customer service is a thing of the past if you can't afford $$$$. Good communication is everything. I would've been understanding if he was honest and said, "Your project is too small for us." UPDATE: Jose called me immediately after voicing my disappointment with his lack of good communication and customer service by scolding me and telling me he didn't like getting bad reviews and that I was a "troubled" person. The trouble I had was with him. And now, even more so. While he made excuses that he was too busy to respond to my text previously, he was certainly quick to call me on a poor review. His unprofessionalism is absolutely unacceptable. This is no way to run a business. You shouldn't throw a tantrum if you don't like what you read. I found this company through Yelp and am so glad I did! I worked exclusively with Miguel, and he represented his company with pride and professionalism. Miguel came to the house the same day when I asked when he could do a quote. I told him my family's budget and his quote was competitive with other quotes we received. After our initial meeting, we knew we wanted to work with his company. The driving force behind our decision was 1. that their work looked good and 2. it helped immensely that Miguel had a family member that was close to our son's age so he knew exactly how to interact with our son. Once we signed the contract, they gave us a start date, and they finished the project in a week. There was one hiccup in the process but Miguel fixed it immediately.. and when I say immediately.. the issue was taken care of within literally 30 minutes. When I saw water bubbling out of the ground just under the control valves of my sprinkler system, I quickly shut off the outside water.
