Enzo and DaVinci (his trainer's dog)

Enzo just completed his 4-week board and train program with Bay Area K9 Training. Let me start off by saying how incredibly grateful I am for Judge and his entire team for taking such amazing care of my boy Enzo while he was in their care. From the very first day, Judge and his team sent me daily video updates from his daily activities to his continuous training development. Everything from beginning drop-off, to daily updates, and through pick-up day was so carefully planned and organized. Enzo left me with zero obedience and major aggression towards other dogs and came back a brand new dog. Judge and his team exceeded my expectations way beyond what I could have possibly imagined. Enzo returned back to me having mastered obedience training including off-leash training. I cannot express enough how thankful I am to have chosen Bay Area K9 Training for Enzo and myself. If you are located in the Bay Area or surrounding area, check out Judge and his team. There is no place better to train your doggy. You will not only be happy with your decision, you will also have peace of mind that your dog will be in the best hands possible.

The best dog trainer out, I took my 2 year old Rottweiler for the 12 private 12 group training program and both me and the dog came out like new not only did my dog leave well trained but so did I judge very patiently gave me the knowledge and understanding of how to deal with anything my dog might've thrown at me from regular day to day training to behavioral, cosmetic and nutritional knowledge and if you follow his steps exact how he recommends the results will show truly an amazing experience all round it's also so much fun to attend the classes I will for sure be coming back for the 1 week board and train just for a refresher and probably much more I highly recommend to anyone who has a dog

Judge, his dog DaVinci and Rogue on her last class of the 12x12.

I am so grateful for Judge and his team. We came to them hoping to resolve my dogs reactivity to other dogs after being attacked. After our initial evaluation, Judge said the 12x12 would be the best option for our girl, Rogue. Initially we were hesitant as it seemed like a lot of training time and money. But we were so wrong! We needed all those trainings, both for her as well as for us handlers. And there is a payment plan which was really nice to split out the payments. We just completed the 12x12 Training and our relationship with our girl is so different. She still has some reactivity, but I've noticed it really depends on the other dog and how they approach her. We are now able to take her on pack walks and went to a Halloween dog event without any problems! Judge is tough but it's much needed. Be prepared to really put in the work and to run during your training sessions. Even though we finished our 12x12, we plan to be back every other week to join group training. I think Rogue really enjoys class and it's good to have her around other dogs.

Woweee, I cannot say ENOUGH how grateful I am to have found Judge. We signed up Kira for the 24 sessions (12 private/12 group classes) from the time she was a pup at about 4 months old. We were having a really hard time with recall when we first started (she was small enough to squeeze through a fence and I had to chase her 1/2 a mile before I was able to get her, and I don't run ). Now, not only does Kira recall like a pro, but she is so good with sit/down stays. She was also very timid and shy (very common for an Alaskan Klee Kai), but now loves meeting new people and furriends. Her loose and off leash walking has also improved tremendously. Thanks Judge for helping us with our fur baby! We couldn't have done it without you

I was having trouble with my dog Bella and had constant outbursts, reactions against others dogs and her not following my commands. I knew that it was time to find a dog trainer that is when I was recommend Bay Area K9 training team, there is where I met Judge and he recomended the 4 week boarding and training sessions, and when I got Bella back it was like she was a different dog, she followed my commands and was much more friendlier with different dogs and know I have the information to control her, Overall I highly recommend to check out Bay Area K9 team

Enzo has finished his 24 in total sessions. 12 private / 12 group sessions and wow the difference I see in my dog is crazy, it went from he couldn't stay still to him staying at his down position till I tell him to come to me. Our walks are so peaceful, where my pup walks without a leash during our walks! Dogs bark at him and he doesn't even look at them. I've seen so much improvement in my dog. Bay Area K9 has helped us in so many ways, all that hard work really pays off. So thankful for coming across Bay Area k9 Totally going to miss Saturday morning classes with all the rest of the dogs! Thank you Judge for all of the help from both is us! Selena and Enzo

I contacted Judge at Bay Area K9 Training after having difficulty with my Weimaraner dog. His patience and guidance has allowed me to train my dog better in moments of stress and anxiety. I highly appreciate Judge's devotion and expertise and that's why I recommend Bay Area K9 Training to everyone.

I couldn't recommend Bay Area K9 Training enough! My dog Quinn is a completely different dog thanks to Judge Thiara! Her obedience, off leash training, and manors have all excelled in this program. We decided to go with the 12x12 and it was the best decision! Judge helped us in many ways that we couldn't have ever imagined. I remember looking at his group session videos on instagram and saying "no way Quinn could ever be that good around other dogs". Now I can fully trust her not just around other dogs, but in public and with children. Thank you Bay Area K9 Training and Judge Thiara for guiding me and teaching me how to train!!

I brought my reactive Labrador Retriever, Bruno to Bay Area K9 with Judge. Bruno completed both private and group sessions. Before coming here, I was unable to take my dog on walks and go out in public with him. Not only was he reactive to other dogs but also to people. Thanks to Judge's expertise, I am now able to take my dog almost everywhere! His wise methods and training mechanisms helped shape my labrador into an obedient dog. He is no longer reactive to people, and I now have the knowledge to control him with what I learned from Judge and his team. 100% recommend!

Group training session. Look at that focus.

Our girl Lola recently completed 24 training sessions with Bay Area K9. We started training with Judge shortly after adopting our 2 y.o. female GSD/Malinois Mix. To say we were ill prepared as new owners of a working breed dog was an understatement. Judge empowered me and my husband with the tools to better understand our dog and built our confidence with every session. We learned that training is not a set period of sessions and presto you have this fully trained dog. It is a commitment of not only time, but the personal desire to be a better handler, so that both handler and canine can build a strong bond and working relationship. Judge, thank you for your dedication to your profession and sharing your insight and knowledge of canine behavior with your clients.

IF YOU HAVE A LARGE BREED, STOP SEARCHING AND CALL JUDGE. Above and beyond my expectations of a trainer. Judge truly is one of the best in the Bay Area and thats putting it lightly. I started my German Shepherd With Judge's program for advanced off leash obedience in the course of 4 months. Right from the first session I could see a little spark go off in my pup and ever since she has been an absolute amazing dog to train and play with. Judge sets very specific goals and things to do during his program, and it is all tailored to your pup and progress. This ensures that you and your pup get the most out of every session. There is no sugarcoating here, very upfront so don't be shy to talk about anything that is bothering you with you pup. Judge will have something for you to do. YOU put the work in that he tells you to do, and I GUARANTEE you will see results. He for sure knows the psychology of dogs, and can even figure out what you truly worked on based on what he sees in the sessions. The best part about the private training program I am in is that although we are ahead of our planned schedule, he always has something new for me to learn and try out so that we are always moving forward and adding pieces to the puzzle. Im not even complete with the training yet and I already am comfortable having her off leash in some situations. The board and train program is also very solid. Ive seen the progress and effort Judge put in when we do group sessions. Absolutely phenomenal work. Very happy I stumbled upon the yelp page and contacted him. I guarantee no matter what dog issues or breeds you have, Judge will be able to help you out.

Judge at Bay Are K9 really helped with my dogs Snoopy reactiveness. Snoopy was very reactive to other dogs to the point where he attacked a couple dogs. I immediately looked for help for snoopy and found Bay Area k9 Training and if it wasn't for Judge and this training courses I was worried to lose snoopy. Snoopy is now able to be around other dogs in training class and walk past other dogs and I'm able to control his reactiveness so much better. Thank you so much to Judge!

We chose to do boarding and training with Bay Area K9 Training in Hayward for a one month board and train. Judge Thiara and his team did beyond amazing training Buddy during his board and train. We are so impressed with the changes and how disciplined Buddy is. When we dropped off Buddy he wasn't very obedient, it was hard to take him out in public and was hyper excited. Now, after 4 weeks of training, he is much calmer, listens to commands and is able to meet people without jumping on them. We got daily updates with videos and were easily able to contact Judge. Buddy was so well taken care of as if he was home and recieved so much love. We are forever grateful, thank you!

My travel happened a lot of times at the last minute, and overall I feel like they did a great job accommodating me and handling the situations which were sometimes chaotic. My dogs are both super high energy, and they always seem to return relaxed from their stays. I like that there are certain activities they do with the dogs and that they video / photograph it daily. I originally started coming here for training with Ria when I brought home a new puppy and my other two dogs were not getting along with him. Through her training, all of my dogs have developed the skills they needed. The training is ongoing and I've been able to go at a pace that works for my schedule and budget. I now feel much more in control of my dogs' behavior. All three of my dogs are reactive in different ways and the training has made a huge difference. Ria is incredibly knowledgeable and takes the time to explain things in a way that actually helps me understand what I'm doing and why. She's also very consistent, which I really appreciate. I've worked with other trainers before, but it never felt like an ongoing relationship where I could ask questions or continue learning like I can with Ria. We've done both individual sessions and group reactivity classes and I love that my dogs get to practice being around other dogs in a structured, non-judgmental environment. I've seen real progress in each of them. One has improved with aggressive and overprotective behavior, another has built confidence, and my third has gained obedience skills and improved socialization. I also use their daycare for my youngest dog and he absolutely loves it. He's been going for about six months now. He comes home happy and tired from physical activity and mental enrichment. The facility is great, the staff are caring, and I love getting photo updates. It's also a big plus that they have grooming services on-site. It gives me extra peace of mind that the facilities are all indoors and they work closely with the vet next door in case of an emergency. I'm really grateful to have found a place that supports both my dogs and me!

In October 2025, I paid a $855 deposit via Zelle to reserve boarding and requested a refund after canceling. After multiple follow-ups, I was told the refund would be processed. I was later informed that the refund had been sent to the wrong person and would be corrected, with a commitment that it would be completed by February 18, 2026.
