This is a rare find. Coming from New York, where we have the best of the best, it's hard to find comparable services when you're far away I've been living in North Carolina for the past few years. Recently we were evacuated to the charlotte area due to the hurricane and fortuitously stumbled into Baxter, beauty bar. Holy Fabulous! First I did a facial with Blake, who is amazing... then had my hair done by Megan I've been getting compliments on my hair ever since! Not to mention the staff:, notably Diane and Irene . They are on top of everything going on, & are so personable. Very accommodating to scheduling and welcoming. Services are just okay. I think that with all of the places available for hair services, there should be a little more attention to detail. For a $70 cut, I expect to see the back and when I got a blunt cut, a flat iron probably would have been helpful in order to ensure evenness. The ladies here were very nice however I personally wouldn't recommend this salon. I came in on my graduation day to get a blow out before my big day and I've already had a crazy day to begin with so I thought getting my hair done and doing a little self care would make it better. I asked for a simple 90's blow out where it has volume and bounce and that swoop curl/wave at the end of my layers. When the lady was doing my blow out she used the regular bow out brush but when she was done my hair didn't really look close to a blow out but more like I woke up. The lady asked if I liked it and I asked if we could add the swoops at the ends of my layers. She tried to do it again with her blow out brush but couldnt get it so she called a coworker over to help her and this coworker tried the same thing but couldnt get it so instead she tried using a flat iron. While one woman was using the flat iron on one side of my head the other was using a curling iron. I questioned this at first because I didn't think it would give the opposite side the same look but I didn't say anything because I'm not a professional so what do I know. When they finished both sides of my hair didn't look the same at all. The lady asked again if I liked it and I asked if we could fix the ends of the side that was done with the flat iron because it didn't match the other side. I was hesitant towards this because I know this will cause more heat damage but if I'm going to graduation I need both sides of my hair to look symmetrical. She starts to curl the other side of my hair down towards the ends. When my hair was done it wasn't really what I invisioned and I've never had a blow out like this before. The ladies were so nice and tried their best to fix it but it still didn't turn out well. I ended up accepting defeat and just took what I could get and left. The ladies were very nice and tried but I wouldn't recommend because a blow out shouldn't be that complicated or hard to achieve and I was questioning their skill and their technique using the flat iron on one side of my head and then the curing iron on the other. So this is how my hair looked after I got it cut at baxter beauty bar. If you have curly hair and are wanting to get it cut I definitely wouldn't recommend this place because after I called them and asked if they had any curly hair specialist they said yes and I went in and got it cut and one side is longer than the other. waste of $65. read more

Understanding my time constraints, Rachel got me into her schedule, she not only listened to me thoughts on how I like my hair cut, but she brought out the beauty in my own natural gray and I Love It!! My stylist was Caroline and this girl knows what she's doing, she's awesome & made me fall in love with myself lol she provides great customer services & explained what she was doing through out the whole process! A new place for me. I found it online and went by past review posts. Beauty Bar has a very relaxed atmosphere but they're still very attentive. I had an appointment for color and a cut. I wear my hair in a pixie cut and if it is cut poorly, it can go horribly wrong! But my stylist, Morgan, was a fabulous find. I noticed her name in the reviews, and she was recommended when I made my appointment and told them I wear my hair short. I was amazed how Morgan really listened to me while we chatted before beginning and she gave me one of the best haircuts I've ever had. And the color was great. I received compliments the next day from strangers! Morgan really tried to please me and she succeeded. Finding a new hair stylist can be very traumatic but Morgan made it easy. And I'll be a very happy repeat client! read more

My wife, daughter, and I went for the "Blow outs, brows, buzz cuts, and beards in honor of Wren" event and Wow! I normally cut my own hair but after the great experience I had, I will definitely be back. Great friendly service. So happy I went there and got may hair done. I am new to the area, and I'm super picky where I get my hair done. I have long blonde hair and I was getting my roots done. I showed the stylist a picture of what I want it, and he new exactly what to do. He talked me through everything he did and was super friendly. They also have great products. Have to say I've never stepped foot in the place and now I never will. The owner allowed my husband to call in and pay for a service over the phone with basically an IOU for lash extensions. When it came down to redeeming this I was told there was no record of it and he should have gotten a gift card. But you were the one who allowed him to do it over the phone? Well what can I say my daughter got her hair done here . I complained before we left out of there. Chelsea proceed at check out to say why the charge was 200$ is my daughter had a lot of hair fine! Why in the world didn't you match it up the color she wanted then she missed spots. In the meantime my daughter was back at college miserable so I called Chelsea that Tuesday they opened back up I asked for a manager at first but I guess a manager wasn't available so Chelsea got on the line told me she would fix it . Well we go back when my daughter came home for Fall Break and Chelsea totally made her feel like she was a liar , embarrassed her caused a seen !!! My daughter walked out in tears and I walked in and said we won't be having you fix it!! Mind you this is supposed to be a decent salon Well not so much !! Please check out who is doing your hair here and also it's right because while we were in there the first time 2 people came back in just to get the color right and even a haircut that wasn't even !! Disappointed totally with this place !! Over rated and over priced for the job we got ! Some people don't take time to right reviews but in my eyes this could've all been handled professionally !! They were so warm and welcoming that when they said they could fit me in, I jumped at the chance. Sam did a fantastic job of listening to what I wanted and executed it perfectly.
