Rose was rude and not compassionate at all. I do not recommend using Bauer Funeral Services.

Recently this year, my son has passed away. When the time came, to lower his casket, the young man in charge DROPPED him in the hole. My family and friends were shocked. No words can explain how my wife and I felt. At a time of grief, the anger in my heart was unbearable. A few weeks later when I was visiting my son, another funeral event was in progress. During that time, the workers was mowing the lawn in that very section not giving a shit, constantly passing by, left and right like it's no ones business. The boldness of the staff here are careless, full of contempt, and clearly inexperienced. And during that whole time, the young man in charge (the one that dropped my son) was standing there watching the whole thing just waiting to get it over with. For the family and those who are resting here, I hope God finds a way to resolve this issue.

Don't ask me why, but I love old things, buildings, clothing... and cemeteries. Cemeteries are…read moreliterally, the most peaceful place I can think of. This cemetery houses the remains of some of the first settlers of the town of Snohomish. It is a sister cemetery to the GAR Cemetery in Seattle. Established in 1889, there are 200 Union soldiers buried here. The "newer" side of the cemetery is very well maintained. The older part of the cemetery has fallen into disrepair. There are overturned and uprooted gravestones and vegetation overgrowth. The huge monument that stands in the middle of the cemetery is intricately carved, down to the hollow eyes that stare you down. A few of the locals say that when you drive or walk by the cemetery, the eyes follow you... Not scary at all looking at them up close. Also, check out my pics to see the hugest freakin monkey tree I have ever seen! must be some damn good fertilizer...

I called a funeral home…read morefrom a list supplied by a lay pastor in the area called in by the Sheriff's office but, because it was after hours, I did not hear back. Meanwhile, my husband was just lying there. At around 1 AM I called Dignity, which provides referrals for Veterans. They put me directly through to a funeral director at Purdy & Kerr. The director said they would come out and get my husband and if I chose arrangements at with another funeral home, there would be no charge for their services. By 3 AM, staff had arrived to take charge of my husband. In the morning I was contacted by funeral director Terry Lineweaver. Mr. Lineweaver arranged for everything: the cremation, a special viewing for out-of-the-area family, an honor guard for the funeral, the obituary, and help with final interment at a Veteran's cemetery. I was never pressured about costs and services I didn't need were never suggested. I can't thank Terry and Purdy & Kerr enough for their help at this difficult time and I recommend them most highly.

My infant grandson suddenly died and we had to make arrangements. From the beginning Rose treated us like family. She helped us through this horrible time. She went above and beyond - a continues to do so. She even cried with us. When there was an issue with moving forward with some of the final plans, she did everything in her power to get things done. She was protective of us and took such wonderful care of our baby. She stayed late, and even drove to Seattle to pick up the ashes after hours, on a Saturday, so that we could have them for the memorial the next day. The other staff were helpful, kind, and made sure our baby was treated well. I hope that no one ever, ever has to go through what we have been going through. If you do, the staff at Purdy & Kerr with Dawson will be your angels as they were ours.

They were sympathetic, professional, and made everything as easy as possible for us from the very beginning to the very end. Their attention to detail was above and beyond our expectations and made the memorial service everything we wanted it to be. We had a reception after the memorial service, using the catering provided by Schaefer-Shipman. We were very pleased with the food, the presentation, and the service. The facility is a very nice place. We could not be happier with the service provided by Schaefer-Shipman and would recommend them highly!

Allen Ice, the funeral director, was nothing short of caring, helpful and professional...but not in a business-like manner. More in a family-member way. We could not have gone through what we just did without his hand holding, great communication, caring and helpful ways. Fortunately, we've never been through this before and didn't know the first thing to do. We did not pick this funeral home, it picked us because I believe it's the only one in Marysville. But Allen truly cares and is good at what he does. He directed us from the first step inside until the end. What an emotional thing to go through. However, with a special person like Allen to help you...it was a lot easier. We also had our services at this location and it was more special, more beautiful, more sincere and professional than expected. It was a top notch special memory that we will hold on to forever. Thank you Allen and staff.
