He was dressed to the nines in a bright blue shirt and black pants. He welcomes you with a how's it going welcome. This guy seemed younger with a bowl cut haircut and all one length pixie cut. He had the beard so assumed he is married. There was a small selection of rugs, baskets, pickles and jellies. The shop also had sewing machines and huge tables for cutting fabric. He didn't have change on him for a $20. I bought a jar of garlic dill pickles for $7 and blueberry ham for $3. The Amish cut the ends off of pickles. I don't know why. These pickles are super good and crunchy. I found their business while googling Amish stores by Osakis. Turn left to drive into Long Prairie and you'll pass some more residences and farms. Their white houses are so cute.

There is usually some coupon or deal going on each week. You can't beat the prices are so SO affordable for a farmers market. I'm always sad when it's over for the season. They have kids activities the first Saturday of the month and give away something free to the kids. There is usually live music and at least 10 vendors selling everything from meat and eggs, to bread, jams, honey and popcorn to fresh veggies. Highly recommend checking this out if you're in the area on a Saturday morning!

Talking to the sellers is a great way to learn about new produce that you may not be familiar with. There are farmers who sell eggs and meat, flowers, bread, popcorn, and a wide variety of fresh veggies and fruit. Bring your own bags to help reduce waste. Small bills help. We booked a wedding to be catered (and secured the date with a deposit)…read more We received the catering menu options by email - 2 attachments were email showing options and pricing. When we contacted both the catering manager and the owner, to discuss the details of the food we wanted, we were told one of the menus they provided was not an option. (The menu that we wanted to use). The owner was extremely unprofessional. She openly admitted she had made a mistake by sending the menu and "learned her lesson". When I then asked about using my deposit toward salads for the wedding, grooms supper or if I could use it for a future graduation party, I was rudely told NO. AND she would not reimburse my deposit, even tho she admitted that she was at fault. They handled this situation unprofessionally and in a rude manner. I would never trust Tutti Fruitti for a catering event.

The farm itself feels like it was lifted out a storybook and we love to visit for the events they host for members (pea picking, pumpkins in the falls, bon-fires, etc). They are certified organic and they are not stopping there as they are always busy making improvements to make the farm and their distribution even more environmentally friendly and sustainable. Our family (2 adults and 2 kids) enjoy a "full share" which means we pick up a fresh box full of veggies for 18 weeks during the summer/fall months and if you do the math it's very inexpensive. The quality of the vegetables is always 5 star and super fresh. Most of the items are staple items that we can use easily incorporate into our weekly meals and once and a while there is a more unusual ingredient that is fun to experiment with... don't worry about meal ideas as Lisa provides weekly recipes and info about how to cook/eat each item. I can't recommend membership enough... one tip is to make sure to sign up early as each year the number of shares are limited and usually sell out.

If you like to buy organic produce at the store or enjoy visiting a famers' market or co-op, you should try this out for a season. There really is no comparison to the quality and variety of the produce, and there is a tremendous amount of a feel good factor when you commit to sustainably support a local farmer. If you're already on board the CSA train and just deciding which one to join, this one is wonderful. The owner is very focused, driven, and excellent at communication. She sends out deatiled updates on the farm as well as storage tips and great recipes for the week's delivery. She holds several fantastic events on the farm each year and really makes you feel involved and appreciated in her efforts to better our earth, health, community, and food system. She treats you like a true partner in both, business and this mission which is both humbling and empowering. That beats a mundane trip to the grocery store any day.
