I had my wife bring me back some smoked fish on Sunday from Baxter. They convinced her it would be a good idea to stick it in a fresh fish bag with ice for the ride back to Edina, Well, the ice melted and got into the smoked fish, ruining it. I had a smoked fish slurpy. If they just would have sold it to her and let her bring it home, it would have been just fine. Thirty bucks down the drain. Wondering if you've changed the recipe for the Holiday Salmon Dip in Baxter. We have some, and it's always been my favorite dip. Now there is an orange liquid floating in it and it tastes very smokey. Not as good as it used to be. The smokey flavor over powers the other ingredients. read more

Just pick up some of the Smoked Salmon, you'll thank me. It is smoked perfectly without being jerkied. The Pickled Herring is a good buy too. We always stop by one of their locations if we're in the area. When the girls were younger, it was pretty much the only bribe that would encourage them to make the long journey to Bemidji. This location is new and in Baxter, so we can bypass Brainerd. read more

I called and asked if they have dry ice, which I was told they sell. The clerk told me they do. I drove 25 miles to get some dry ice only to be told they don't have any. If I told you what I really think of them I would probably get kicked off of Yelp. read more

Jack helped us decide on a seafood dip. We sampled several and Jack was able to describe each of the dips. Everyone was excellent! He explained that we could purchase any quantity we would like. The wood roasted smoked salmon is spectacular. Jack also recommended crackers that would go nicely with our dip choices. Superior customer service. read more

5 stars for the employees and quality at the Motley Mn store. The Creamy Dill Herring $6.99 was the best I've ever had! Honestly wish I would have bought a lot more....it is so good! What a fun place to shop! We stopped in on our way to northern Minnesota, and found a treasure trove of favorite fish items, AND accouterments to go alongside! Plus, we bought some hostess gifts and even did a little Christmas shopping! We ordered some hard-to-find herring (lingonberry sauce), smoked salmon, and the specialty "Holiday Spread" for our own holiday treats in California. They arrived in fine shape, still frozen! Morey's has a nice, new store, courteous employees, good smoked fish, and a variety of of good food. My problem with the place is that most of the products are WAY overpriced. I think they've used their reputation for good smoked fish to set up a tourist sucker trap. By all means, stop in, look around, and buy a taste of the fish, but keep a vice grip on your billfold. read more

Brainerd / Baxter would not be the same without this gem! The selection is amazing and the quality is superb. I'm always pleasantly surprised by what I find here, even the cheese selection is incredible considering their specialty is seafood. Fresh halibut and salmon are my favorites but the deli items should also not be overlooked- particularly the crab dip, I can't get enough! I It's a must stop anytime you are driving by! read more
