The instructors are not only exceptionally knowledgeable in the art in which they teach, but they are also focused on trying to give each student an equal share of individual attention to help develop their skills. Their teaching methodologies are diverse and top notch helping one progress to the next level whether if it's from simply being a novice, all the way up to becoming an amateur fighter. Amongst the students there is a strong sense of camaraderie where we train together, spar together, and learn together. I've personally seen where many senior students will help along a more beginner student with advice and guidance. It's an atmosphere where students from diverse backgrounds and experiences can genuinely learn from each other and grow in mind, body, and spirit as martial artists. The facility and the equipment within the establishment is immaculate and well maintained. Whenever there is a rare instance of equipment failure, it is promptly repaired or replaced. The facility boasts equipment such as Fairtex training bags, a mini boxing ring, a free weight section, as well as ample locker/shower rooms, all of which are kept in peak condition. New pieces of equipment are introduced fairly regularly phasing out the old and worn equipment. For me, Progressive Martial Arts is a phenomenal place to study the art of Muay Thai Kickboxing and I'm honored to be able to train/study my discipline here. My advice for those interesting in pursuing martial arts is to come in and take the free introductory lesson. Come and experience first hand everything that PMA has to offer and I guarantee that you will not leave disappointed.

Despite all of that, when our class was supposed to take place today, our entire group was left standing outside in the cold because the owner simply **forgot** our scheduled class. This was, without question, the most disappointing and unprofessional experience our homeschool group has ever had. Our outings are usually smooth, positive, and well-coordinated, so for something this important to be handled with such carelessness is extremely upsetting. There was absolutely no accountability, no apology that matched the situation, and not even an offer to make up the class they failed to provide. I am deeply disappointed in the lack of responsibility, communication, and basic courtesy shown to our group. I cannot in good conscience recommend this place to anyone. Their behavior falls far below what one should expect from any business--let alone a martial arts school that claims to teach discipline and respect.

This was extremely irresponsible from a business owner and besides saying sorry, he barely tried to fix the situation. I would not recommend this combat club to anyone.

After hearing about Bayside Ultimate Champions' after school program, TASMA, from a classmate, he joined in earlier this year. They were willing to honor some of his previous TKD training, while having him attend the lower level classes in order to ensure he knew the syllabus. Attending their after-school program, TASMA, allowed him to take classes 5x a week, after his homework was completed. This place really has their act together, not only running a tight ship with their students and staff, but a smooth business that includes transparency. During the citywide shutdown, they kept us informed of all the latest updates with the school as soon as they knew. We really appreciated that, and it helped us parents to understand whatever struggles the dojang was going through... they never tried to hide things from us. With that in mind, many of the families rallied around the school to help the reopening. Now they have finally opened back up for outdoor classes, and limited indoor classes. They have taken many precautions with sanitizing both indoor and outdoor spaces (and hands), taking the students' temps prior to entering the dojang, and separating students with a plastic partition in between. Master Oh, Instructor Michael have been incredibly patient with my son. I have only high praise for them, as well as Instructors David & Charleston, plus Staff members Ms. Asli, Ms. Melissa, and Mr. Emmanuel (and I'm probably forgetting more names, but they are all wonderful!). Would highly recommend this school to any family considering!

Pro: - You can do make up during the week without telling them ahead. Just show up. They won't turn you down. -great and enthusiastic instructors, especially leading instructor Charles. - kids are always engaged. Also emphasize in eye contacts and concentration. Con: - class size can go up to 15-20 kids in a small space but they have enough instructors/ assistants. Last two sessions I saw have 4 staff each. One session only has 8 kids so ended up 1:2 ratio. - part of the session they will divide the group. With two groups trying to yell loudly, it can be confusing and distracting for the little ones. - limited seating for parents to observe. Sometimes you walk in you don't lie where to stand so you won't block other parents. - Minus one star for small space. Conclusion: Will seriously think of joining long term after my groupon runs out. It will be about $1600 for 12 months for 2 sessions weekly. It is a great sport for kids and more importantly, I want my little girl to be able to defend herself. Tip: they often had introductory Offer on their website of Facebook. First time I see they have Groupon.

The classes are sloppy and they aren't teaching the kids anything. It looks like the only reason the kids progress is because you pay for the belt rather than due to any increasing skills. They also make you buy boards for your kid to break EVERY CLASS. One more way to bamboozle people out of their money. Do yourself a favor...attend a better school that's less money hungry and conducts itself with more integrity!!!
