Really expensive, $180 per month (if you don't want to commit to thousands by purchasing 300…read morelessons) plus $4 for boards to break once a week. Then add the tournaments @ $50-70 a pop, plus boards again. Once you get over the $$$, and it's hard... The school is wonderful! Best money I could have ever spent!

Dishonest: They try to keep their exorbitant tuition a secret until you take a bunch of lessons…read more The school is located in a basement by the N train Ditmars stop. I was greeted by a nice girl who agreed to let me watch the lesson in session. She refused to answer my question regarding the cost for classes, and insisted I would be provided with this information after I take 2 trial classes, so they can asses my abilities and assign me to the "right program". The class I watched had three students and two instructors, both black belt dan 2 (that's relatively low compared to other places). The students definitely got personal attention, but the instructors level/forms were not impressive. Maybe they were having a bad day. On the way out, the girl at the front desk asked if I want to sign up for the trial class. I was interested, but wanted to know what the tuition would be. I explained that I don't want to come for two trial classes if the tuition is beyond my budget. All she would say is that it would cost somewhere between $110-150/ month. When I asked how the tuition is calculated she repeated her whole spiel about the trial classes assessing what "program" I need. she could not explain what programs exist nor what the differences between them are. I started to loose my patients. I was sensing a scam. It became clear to me that she wouldn't give the prices for a reason. I asked her if I can speak with the owners, since I don't think they would want to loose a client just because she wouldn't tell the prices. The girl behind the counter gave up at this point and summoned her co-worker who was overhearing the conversation. The second girl was more helpful, but still would not provide prices. Only after I told her I'd walk out if they don't cut the bull, the truth came out. Two lessons a week, cost $180/ month in a month by month payment plan! No wonder they were so fanatical about keeping this exorbitant price a secret. Who in their right mind would pay $180 at this place?!

I joined right after my trial lesson. Instructor Santiago has taught me so much about self defense. Instructor Leo has taught me that you are never too old to learn Tae Kwon Do. Lessons are expensive. I joined because the trial lesson was outstandingly fabulous. My first actuall lesson was very difficult. I wanted to quit and give up. Instructor Leo and Instructor Santiago said not to give up. Keep trying they said. Now I enjoy coming here to 81-15 Queens Blvd location. Give them a call and try the trial lesson. It is worth it to try

I am glad I have enrolled my son at UXMA of Elmhurst. My son started attending when he was 5 years…read moreold and has been with the school for a year now. I see positive improvements in his confidence, attentiveness, stamina and physical health. All of the instructors and staff have a tremendous amount of patience and professionalism toward him and the younger students. They take the time to train and demonstrate to the students how to properly do the form for each belt level and make the class fun. With the amazing team and supportive older students at UXMA my son has positive role models to look up to and made a lot of friendships along the way. They have provided him with motivation to go to practice everyday to learn his forms and sparring technique and to one day achieve his black belt. It is a great investment for the growth and development of my son and I highly recommend the school.
