Ordered and paid for a car battery almost 2 weeks ago with express shipping and the battery is…read morestill nowhere to be found. Their inventory management system is very poor and their website does not mention anywhere if the item you are ordering is in stock or not. In my case the battery was not in stock as I found out much later. Contacted them directly on numerous occasions to follow up on my order and keep getting mixed and conflicting bits of information as to the status of the order. The female sales staff member I dealt with was rude and would deflect blame onto others - be it the supplier or other staff members even though she was the one emailed me incorrect battery information all along. Their communication is extremely poor and not once did they contact me of their own accord to let me know what was going on and left it up to me to constantly follow up with them. When i did call them up they would not have any clear answers and would tell me that they would contact the supplier and call me back. They never called me back. Eventually, after almost 2 weeks of not getting any closer to receiving the battery I had ordered and paid for and not being able to use my car, I had enough and demanded a full refund. If the management at Batteries Direct ever do read this perhaps you need to have a word with her about an attitude adjustment and also some further education on the batteries you sell (you all know who she is). Not once was I ever offered an apology for the headache and inconvenience this entire debacle had caused and she was completely indifferent towards my poor customer experience and couldn't care less. Throughout the entire ordeal I had been more than patient and reasonable but there is only so much a person can and should be made to endure. Customer service goes a long way and it was very much lacking here. Go on to "productreview dot com dot au" and take a look at all the actual verified negative reviews for these guys. Any 5 star reviews here must have been paid for or falsified as it is far from the service I received from them. Never doing business with Batteries Direct ever again and I would strongly advise against anyone else from doing so either. There are plenty of other more reputable battery stores around that deliver true customer service. I've learned my lesson the hard way so you don't have to. I'm sure if management do read this, they will most likely copy and paste the same generic response to this review as with all the other negative reviews they have received and they won't change a single thing about their current substandard business practices. Update: Called my local Beaurepaires up and they had the battery I had originally wanted for $145 only. Went and picked it up, no fuss all done within 15 minutes door to door. They even stayed open after 5pm on a Friday afternoon and waited for me to come pick it up. Now that's what I call customer service!

The bad news comes when you combine this friendly front and their thoroughness for a rego check. Kmart Tyre & Auto inspected my car, finding every single crank that whistled the wrong way. This I was ok with - I'm happy to know what needs to be done with my car and the time frame it needs to be done within. What I don't appreciate being told is that all of it must be done in order for my car to pass rego and that the cost of repairs would cost almost double the worth of the car. Having taken my car to a more trustworthy mechanic for a second opinion, I was told that yes, all this work did need to be done - at some point within the next five years. In fact, only two items on their long itemised list needed tending to to pass for registration. Not only this, but this mechanic informed me that Kmart's quoted cost of repairs was double what he, and most other mechanics, could ethically charge. Safe to say I gave my business to this mechanic and then returned it to KMart to be approved (which is free if you go within two weeks of the first inspection). So whilst Kmart are good for a thorough service, ensure you get a second opinion on all quotes - don't let their amicable smiles fool you.

The worst mechanic we've ever had. Try to avoid them as possible as you can…read more We brought our car in West Perth Branch last December for engine problem. Now it's April. We've been bringing the car back for 4 times, and the engine light is still on. They have charged us more than 3 grand. We have been dealing with all the frustration and all the inconvenience with no wheels, and they still can't fix the car. They've been telling us it's the injectors, the sensor, the programming problem, blah blah blah. We feel like they're fooling us around, keeping charging us for this and that, but they don't know what exactly the problem is. After spending more than 3 grand, the car still broke down on the street. We had to wait for help on street feeling cold, starving and extremely frustrated. Therefore, we're going to seek help and third party opinions from other mechanics, Bureau of Automotive Repair and possibly Consumer Court.
