Folly for a Flyover is one of those places that is so unique and creative, it really can make your regular life feel quite hum drum. Cycling along the canal, you stumble upon a collection of wooden bricks, a floating pontoon, some hand made wooden chairs and friendly looking folk enjoying the weekend. It's hard to describe what this place actually is, it's a cinema and performance place but it also seems to be where they hold yoga, stop motion workshops, mask painting for kids and a variety of other activities that they host for free or a very small fee. There is a floating pontoon which is manned by a chap who rents out his row boats for £2 every half hour. It's all very cute. As for the venue itself, there seems to be a little bar area and a scattering of tables and chairs. This is where some attractive twenty somethings with degrees in mixed media art serve up tasty filter coffee using Climpson and Sons roast and toasted bagels with crispy bacon. Two coffees and two bagels will set you back a fair £7.50. For the kids there is soft serve ice cream with a flake and juice. Further evidence that this is a family intended venue. As for opening hours, it seems to be there most weekends and some week day evenings you'll see performances advertised. It's certainly worth checking out.

We were in a group of four, they let two friends in and left me and my other friend behind for 45 minutes. We're texting back and forward the two people that were inside and they said the exact words: "I don't know why you are still waiting. They could fit 30 people and a jacuzzi down here". So yeah, thanks for that. So far you would say it was a terrible experience right? Well yes, but the music saved it all. The DJ was great, the drinks were affordable, the toilets were clean and the location is very convenient. If you want to grab something to eat before dancing, just go upstairs to Pizza East and have a nice slice (order one for me too). Beware: this places closes at 2 am, and if I were you I would pick my coat from the wardrobe 10 or 15 minutes before they start to turn on the lights.

After the bar staff dissuaded our friend from ordering Jagerbombs, they persuaded her to order a round of Concrete Flips (Espresso, Amaretto, Kahlua, Egg and Sugar). Yum, yum, yum! Because we never learnt our lesson about mixing spirits, we ordered a delicious round of white peach Bellinis. I highly recommend. By the time we left, the place was rammed and it looked like people were settling in for a heavy night of drinking and dancing. I'm definitely going back!

The art deco building and decor is stunning, keeping you staring until the lights go down. The acoustics are good and the light display was spot on. At the front is a small area for standing, behind which is a tiered seating section with - and this is the best bit - an area with tables on so you can have waiter service whilst you watch a gig - how thoroughly civilised dahling. They have a bar in the venue so you can grab a pint without missing a tune, and it is reasonably priced (for London). Staff are numerous and helpful. I would definitely choose this venue to see a gig over any other in London, and one to come to now I no longer live in London as I have friends this side of the city for sofa-surfing!

I wasn't sure what category to put this in…read more It is a big warehouse, where you learn to be a circus star. Why is that not a yelp category?! I took a series of three silks courses here. NOT at easy as it looks, let me tell you. I have never been so sore in my entire life, but it sure is a really unique way to work out and have fun/try something new. They offer static and flying trapeze, tumbling, silks, Chinese pole, hoops... pretty much anything you'd see at Cirque du Soliel or the like.The instructors (mine was named Katie, though I am admittedly biased towards other Katies...) were really sweet and patient. But yea, if you're not in pretty darn good shape.... good luck with this. The only downside is more a personal one, in that it is far from where I live. But it is a great space, with great staff, and I definitely recommend trying it out! Mostly other young (as in 20-35ish) fun people in my classes. Small class, too, all levels, but only like 3-5 people for 1 instructor.

London is one of our favorite places to visit in Europe. We always stay in the Stratford area…read morebecause it is close enough to the city center, and prices tend to be more affordable. This was our first time staying at the Holiday Inn Express in Stratford. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the tube (subway). Close enough to walk with our luggage. It was a pleasant 2 night stay at this HIE. Staff was cordial. Breakfast was included with our reservation, and it was busy the two mornings of our stay. The breakfast here was similar to the breakfast offered at the Holiday Inn Express United States locations. Big difference to me is that they do not have those yummy cinnamon rolls in this HIE in Stratford. Our room was fine. Clean and comfortable. Most importantly, we got a good night's sleep each night. As long as the rates are reasonable, it looks like this Holiday Inn Express will now be the place we stay when we travel to London in the future.

So, it did the trick and was/is reasonably priced compared to other hotels in the heart of London. The breakfast buffet is top notch, which seems pretty rare for a chain like this, and the employees are nice. The room was nice and I really have no complaints... except. No room service. You order and have to go down to the bar to get it yourself when it's ready, which kind of defeats the purpose. And don't even think about ordering the burger... holy hell, how can you mess up a burger that much? The employees really don't do well as tourist guides, though I know that's not their job, but one would think they'd be able to assist with basic touristy questions. Otherwise, all good! Prost!

What a wonderful surprise and 'difference' in décor and service. On arriving at Broadgate the sounds of music hit our ears. We were, obviously, going the right way. As the circle opened in front of us it was going to be a fun few hours as everyone was dancing away. That was the first difference from the previous two Mr. Foggs. It was, we think, the inspiration of Mrs. Fogg. Another difference was you ordered at the bar and you took the drinks to your table. Cocktails were delicious but not quite as elaborate, nor were the glasses but that needed to be as most were being drunk outside. A mixture of all age groups and I include ourselves as we were the oldest there but never felt uncomfortable. Music was, as I said, LOUD. Everyone was having fun, as we were too. OK next stop will be the Gin Parlour, at some point in time. We love the Foggs venues for their quirkiness and individuality. For their different, unique, cocktails. We also got the duck bao buns but the duck did not taste fresh so I would not recommend ordering that.
