Keep your phone away from these people. (West St. Paul) I went in for a simple battery (apple) replacement. they said a part had broken off that needed to be ordered but would put it in for free. I picked up my phone (dead) so not able to test it. went home-message stating the battery was not a registered apple battery and my face ID was not working. The battery was never configured. (2 hrs this visit) went back after my husband said put her old battery back in and configure it. 2.5 later-the person did a complete reset on my iPhone! she said it could not be helped. and, we still get a message that the battery is not a registered Apple battery and is charging hot. No idea what battery they put in but it was not my old battery or an apple battery. This has been a nightmare. After another 1.5 at home/phone still is not working. stay far far away for anything to do with your phone being repaired. read more

Sent in via T-Mobile Assurant for a screen repair. Dropped phone off in the afternoon, picked up hour and half later. Screen worked great but phone was saying I wasn't connected to a mobile network. Restarted, nothing. Got home, called T-Mobile, troubleshooted for an hour, device not detecting sim card. Sent to T-Mobile store for new sim card. New sim was also not detected. Told to take phone back to Batteries Plus. Took back same day. New guy walked over to the work area, heard the drill a couple of times, he came back quickly saying he couldn't do anything, someone else would have to look at it tomorrow. I left my device. The next day I called to be told they couldn't fix it because I brought it in like that. I asked for the manager, was told he was busy would call me back. No call. Brought my call and data logs to the store to show I had data and the only wi-fi call was the one they made earlier that day. Regardless, I didn't appreciate the accusation that I was basically trying to rip them off when they were ripping me off, they broke my phone. Went to get pick up my phone and manager told me they had no way to prove that my sim worked before they changed the screen. Now, I remember how the two boys looked when I picked it up, two "kids" swear under 20 years old each, same ones when I dropped off the phone, this time they barely looked at me. Now I know they know they broke my phone. Manager refused to take responsibility. Tried giving me my phone back without the case. Three employees looked for minutes, leaving another customer waiting, before checking the store cameras to see where it was placed. Finally found the case after several minutes. Walking out, I told the guy waiting who was suddenly right behind me, "Don't bring your phone here for screen repair." He said, "I don't think I'd bring my phone here, they couldn't even charge my batteries." What can they do besides be accusatory and disorganized. Their conflict resolution is for the birds. We went into Batteries Plus in Roseville this morning. We thought we needed a new battery but the manager tested it and said it was fine. The person that took care of us was tremendously helpful and definitely not trying to upsell us at all. We ended up buying a portable jump pack. They could not have been more helpful. I got a new screen a month ago. The screen cracked after a dropped phone in my car. It continued to get worse until I had it replaced by Brand New Again in Edina. Found out there is a difference in the quality of screens that you can put back on your phone. Batteries plus used the cheapest product on the market. Price was low, but I had to double it when I had to buy another screen. read more

I needed to repair my son's key fob for his car. I originally bought a battery thinking this was the issue but after having the battery installed the fob still wouldn't work. The manager came out and took apart the fob and cleaned the inside thinking this could also help it to work. When this didn't work I inquired as to the cost to completely replace the fob and have it programmed and decided I didn't want to spend $150+ since we plan to sell the car this fall. The manager then tried a few more ideas of how to repair the fob while being cost efficient for me. SUCCESS! She was able to replace the fob cover and got it working for me and my total bill was $42! This is the type of service you want and hope for in the service industry. Highly recommend this store and staff! read more

This is the only place in the area that has a particular type of battery we need for one of our electronics. We stopped in today to get some and also some regular AA's. They're always slow but it's not been an issue until today - it was the straw that broke the camels back. When we arrived the person working the counter was repairing a battery for somebody else. There was a line of a few people when we arrived waiting to purchase batteries and what not. The woman at the counter acknowledged NOBODY. The two people that had been in front of us when we got there ended up leaving their items and walking out (no idea how long they'd already been waiting, wed been in there for ~5 min at this point). We needed the battery so we kept waiting. After about 10 minutes this woman still hadn't acknowledged our presence ("hi folks just a minute" or "I'll be right with you" would've been nice) so I politely asked if somebody could possibly ring us up quickly. She responded "I'm the only one here" and kept working on the battery she was fixing. I finally had to say, "we just need to grab these quickly and were in a hurry could you take a second to ring us up? Or should we come back?" And she rang us up. I think they just need a refresher on customer service. I don't need to be coddled but a greeting or a "just a minute folks" goes a long way. It's awkward to just stand around in silence waiting. I understand repairing batteries and the other customers take priority but to have multiple people walk out out of frustration and still not acknowledge anybody is just a lack of awareness on staffs part. Moral of the story is that I'll start ordering these batteries on amazon from now on. read more

Nearly everything in modern life runs off some sort of electricity, whether it be derived from batteries or otherwise. This has made a number of things more convenient (albeit sometimes to a fault) and it's easy to forget how much you rely on power until it's gone. Now... AA's? AAA's? Everybody can scrounge up a few of those from somewhere and make the sacrifice from another less used component if necessary. D's? You may have some laying around from a stray flashlight. Watch, laptop, alarm system, wheelchair, camcorder, dog/fence shock collar and electric bike batteries? Yeah... you aren't finding any of those in a neglected remote. Or Target, or Wal*Mart in most cases. In fact, even if you could, I can only imagine the lack of knowledge surrounding the transaction, since we all know that every stupid thing takes a slightly different grade/type/brand/sexual orientation of battery. "... I just, like, work this section. I don't really like... know anything about that kinda stuff, you know? Uh... do you want a manager?" Therein lies the understated beauty of Batteries Plus. It's small because it's not meant for browsing. You walk in looking dejected, flop your item on the counter and they're able to grab you exactly what you need within five seconds. It was a couple years ago now, actually, when one of the batteries in our alarm system at work finally bit the dust. I pried the cover off and my jaw went slack. The battery was large, ancient and completely devoid of any markings (save for a couple half scratched off numbers on the top) that would've indicated what it once had been. Now... If I'd have been the type, I'd have just accepted defeat and quietly left it for the next staff. But no. I had the answer. I had... Batteries Plus. Much like the above scenario I mentioned, I flopped it on the counter and mumbled something to the effect of, "No idea what the hell this thing is". The guy turned it around in his hands a couple times, wandered to the back and grabbed a replacement. Twenty bucks later, I was on my way to continue being underappreciated at my job... my job WITH an active alarm system. Kachow. Now, I will forewarn you and say that this is NOT the place for buying basic batteries like the ones I mentioned earlier. Yeah, they have them in stock. Yeah, you're going to need to take out a second mortgage to afford them. This is the absolute end-all be-all destination for any of your specialty needs, however, and nowhere else I've been has ever beaten the convenience or speed of Batteries Plus. So the next time grandma has spun the ol' Hoveround one too many circles around the Grand Canyon, strap her to the car and set your GPS to the holy battery promised land. read more

Batteries only? Like Becky S. I thought to myself "what kind of store only sells batteries?' I stopped in here on a recent evening to pick up a laptop battery. I knew they had it in stock, but didn't know where it was or what I needed. The dudes behind the counter did though! They found the battery I needed. They tested the new battery and it worked. They tested the power cord and it worked just to make sure it was a battery I needed. The recycled the old battery. They gave me a $15 rebate, on top of the $10 off I coupon I already had. They gave me more coupons in case I need a battery for my iPod or digital camera and they sent me on my way. I was a little skeptical of the place, but I highly recommend it if you need a battery for something and don't want to deal with anything yourself. I guess this place is made for me! My college-freshman son, cracked the screen of his iPhone the day before he had to return to school from spring break. After some research we found that Batteries Plus Bulbs does phone screen replacements - on Sundays! We scheduled an appointment online that evening for 10:30 the following morning. The customer service at this location is outstanding. We were served by "Stretch", who I'm pretty sure is the manager. He was very friendly and kind, and the phone was fixed in about an hour! He even made sure we got all the discounts available before we even had to ask for them. I really hope to not have to repair another phone screen, but if I do, I know I'll be in good hands here. I went to Batteries Plus for a battery for my IPhone X. The price was the same as Apple and more convenient. What they did not tell me is that the battery would not be recognized by my phone and the diagnostics will not work. Whenever I open my phone I get and annoying message. The store tech just Pooh poohed my concerns telling me the battery powered up the phone. I expressed concern to the Customer Care dept and they have not answered. Bad service all around. read more

When this "battery" store opened up several years ago, I thought the whole idea was simply over-the-top. A store that only sells batteries?! When I finally needed a battery that I couldn't find anywhere else, I was forced to go. How surprised was I that they had it (of course, they sell BATTERIES) but they also had fantastic customer service. Now, I go there for every battery I need. They are friendly, and if you bring in the gizmo you need the battery for, they will replace it for you. - I wonder if anyone has ever brought in their "unmentionable" gizmos? :o)~ Why the 4 star rating instead of 5? $12 something for 4 - AAA lithium batteries is highway robbery. This is a follow up to my first review over a year ago. A part I had replaced failed long after the warranty period. Thought I'd stop in just to see what they might say. Casey the owner greeted me and actually remembered my name! Amazing after one visit. He also remembered why I came in over a year ago. He offered to replace the part with a new one for a minimal fee. Amazing. Would a big box store replace an out of warranty part for almost nothing? Not in your life. This is why I always try to use local businesses. There is a huge value in personal service and relationships. Highly recommended for batteries and phone service. read more

Batteries+Bulbs is the store name. Went in to find a battery for my cat's glucometer. I know, pretty random, right? What I expected to find was batteries. What I didn't expect to find is stellar customer service. Wow. They were seriously nice people and provided exceptional customer service. I only needed one, so they just sold me one, even though it was a multi-pack. I didn't even have to ask. It's just standard procedure, apparently. In addition, they have crazy cheap prices on AA & AAA batteries, and do free recycling on CFLs. I will be back, even though this place is not in my 'hood. They are great. read more

They charge for everything, if you want to see if your battery is dead or have a charge, they charge you $8 for that. If you buy a watch battery and you want to have them put it in, they will charge you $5. You want to make a return and get your money back, they send you a check in the mail, that takes two to three weeks, when they can just open up the cash drawer and give you the money right then and there. This place bricked my phone because they dont know what theyre doing. I came in with a Google Pixel 3a for a screen replacement (The screen was very cracked but still working), and somehow it ended up that they broke the connector between the power button and the internals of the phone, meaning ive lost access to the irreplaceable photos and voicemails i had on that phone. Never go here, and never get your phone repaired because they will screw it up worse than it was before. After they tell me they screwed up, this Steven guy trys to tell me that they can order a new part to fix the issue they created. If i cant trust their ability to replace a screen, why would i want them messing with the power equipment inside the phone? Awful service. read more

Went in and got my IPhone's screen repaired. I originally thought either they did a poor job wiring in the repair or the screen itself is just cheap. Because the screen started to black out randomly. So I brought it in within the 30 day warranty period to get it repaired again. They told me it doesn't qualify for the warranty. They said the LCD screen might be cracked and asked if I dropped it. I told them no and how the screen is fine but it just blacks out randomly with no warning. They still said it doesn't qualify and couldn't give me a legitimate reason. Instead they offered $20 off on the next repair. I brought it into the Apple store and they were able to tell me that the screen just wasn't compatible. Highly recommend just going to Apple. They will have the proper gear for $20 more. read more

I will never come to this location to have my phone screen repaired ever again. My phone was damaged before I brought it in but it was still making calls, I could still get texts sent, Siri still worked, I could even FaceTime. Part of the top portion of my screen was blacked out but I went to Batteries Plus to see if maybe just replacing my screen would be fine because I didn't want to go through the long process of replacing it through Apple. I had spoke with someone the night before I dropped my phone off to be repaired and we tested out the important things like making calls and my sensor display and everything that I said was working. I dropped off my phone the next day and came back during my lunch to pick it up and what they handed me was my phone taped up with my broken screen still on it saying that the damage was too bad that replacing my screen wouldn't do anything except now my phone was absolutely useless. The home button was vibrating like crazy and and the screen was completely black. Siri wouldn't work and it wouldn't do anything. Now instead of paying the price for a new screen, I need an entire new phone and when you think it couldn't get worse, the diagnostics test that the employee Abby wrote up says that certain things weren't working when they absolutely were because if they weren't working I wouldn't have just come in for a new screen! Duh!!! So not only does that lady not know how to replace phone screens, she will lie to cover her butt and then they will tell you to bring it to Apple but little do they know Apple will not touch a phone that a 3rd party company worked on. They need some more training. read more

Once upon a time I stumbled across this store online when I needed a phone repair, and since then I couldn't be more pleased. I've had several repairs done at this location and recommended many friends who have had equally positive experiences. The manager, Mic, is very friendly and very helpful. Instead of just performing a service he thoroughly explained to me several things I didn't know about my phone and how I was using it and how it can effect my battery life. I've also dealt with Pharoh, Steven and April who are all great as well. They're always friendly, always do their best to take care of you completely and have you on your way as soon as possible, which is big for me because I'm very busy and time is precious. Anytime I have had a phone repair they always call me on my home phone or email me to let me know if there is anything else wrong with the phone and fully inform me and get my approval before making any additional repairs. I feel comfortable here because I feel I am valued, I feel I'm properly informed so that I can make the best informed decision possible, and I always feel welcome like I'm another member of the Batteries Plus Bulbs family. These guys rock! I had a giant 48 watt dead lithium battery for an e-bike that no bike shop wanted to touch for fear it would ignite. The Roseville Battery Plus barely gave me the time of day but these guys on Robert street were determined to find a solution. In the end they built me a custom lead acid battery pack that worked like a charm but they didn't stop there. They wondered if the reason the lithium battery was dead was because of a faulty charger and not a spent battery. They switched out the old charger for a new one and the lithium battery breathed life. It took several days to figure all this out but I left with 2 fully functioning battery packs for my e-bike. These guys were friendly and determined to help me - awesome! read more

Stretch and the batteries plus team are amazing. Our car battery died. Would hardly have enough power to jump. When it finally did start i jumped on line and ordered the battery to pick up in the store. By the time we got to the store (less than 15 minutes), i had the confirmation email and Stretch had it ready to go. Not even 10 minutes later he had it installed and we were ready to go. It is rare to find a no hassle experience and i just want batteries plus to know what a blessing it was on Tuesday. With a family of 5, it had been a hectic weekend to get everybody where they needed to be with one car. Super cold temps and not enough time in the day... nothing seems to be easy.
